Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him-Chapter 238: Dealing with Yvonne Blackwood
Natalie Vaughn’s favorite thing was Zane Thorne’s blatant and unapologetic favoritism. Because of his capabilities, he didn’t need to care about anyone else’s opinions.
Actions like his today, if it were someone less capable, might lead employees to see them as a boss indulging in romance and neglecting progress.
Natalie was delighted, stood on tiptoes, and gave him a kiss. Zane wrapped his arms around her waist in response, laughing as he said,
"If you keep doing this, I don’t want to let you go."
At these words, Natalie leaned back slightly, winked at Zane.
"We’ll kiss again when I get back."
Right now, there were more interesting things to do.
When Natalie left the office, Seraphina Sutton was waiting at the door.
"Madam, the people from The Blackwood Family have been waiting for over half an hour."
Natalie nodded.
"Got it."
Last time, Seraphina dealt with Serena Blackwood on her own; today, she finally had the chance to see how Madam personally handles such situations.
In the conference room, Yvonne Blackwood had waited too long and was restless. She had been preparing for the collaboration with the GN Group since she heard a year ago that GN would expand its influence in the country, especially valuing its impact on sports events.
She just didn’t expect Zane to be the one in charge of GN Group.
This was her first time here. She knew it was unlikely Zane would discuss the matter directly with her, but she still had a glimmer of hope.
The door opened, and Yvonne took a deep breath, adjusted her expression, and put on a suitable smile before turning around.
But when she saw who it was, her smile vanished, and her brow furrowed.
"Why is it you?"
Natalie smiled brightly, her eyes slightly narrowing as she smirked.
"Why not me?"
Seeing Natalie was unexpected for Yvonne. She glanced at Seraphina beside Natalie, having followed GN Group for so long, naturally knowing she was Zane’s capable assistant.
For a moment, Yvonne was unsure of the situation. Was Natalie here to discuss the collaboration? She immediately dismissed the idea as ridiculous. How could a major group’s significant collaboration be left to Natalie to handle?
"What are you here for?"
Natalie sat down, propped her chin with one hand, and looked at Yvonne dressed schemingly today, and laughed.
"To discuss the collaboration with you."
"You?"
Natalie raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, me. What’s wrong? Not up to your standards?"
Yvonne crossed her arms, smiling.
"You’re just a naive girl who knows nothing. What would you know about collaboration?"
Natalie blinked, turning her head to Seraphina.
"Darling, she says I’m not qualified to discuss collaboration with her. Can GN tolerate this attitude?"
Seraphina’s heart skipped a beat at Natalie’s endearment, but she maintained a professional facade.
"Madam, if the other party isn’t sincere, GN naturally won’t waste words on them."
Natalie raised an eyebrow in satisfaction, giving Yvonne a somewhat provocative look, which riled her up.
"Zane lets you carry on like this?"
Natalie noticed Yvonne’s heaving chest, chuckled, slowly stood up, and approached Yvonne. At about a meter away, Natalie’s smile faded, her eyes turning sharp.
"Who are you to judge me?"
Natalie stepped closer, touching Yvonne’s left chest lightly with her hand.
"Do you think I don’t know what you’re scheming?"
"Ha, plenty of companies want to collaborate with GN. What makes your Blackwood Group special?"
"Oh, right, is it because your President Blackwood admires GN’s head?"
With that, Natalie gave a cold laugh.
"Why do you think I’m here today?"
"The one you admire, my husband Zane, specially sent me to handle this, to carry on as I please."
"Just a Blackwood Group, do they really think they’ll catch his eye?"
"Tsk, your Blackwood family members sure are alike. First Serena, now you, all so shameless, yet dare to dream of collaborating with Zane."
When Natalie’s expression turned cold, her aura shifted dramatically, not as overwhelmingly as Zane’s but stifling nonetheless.
Seeing this side of Natalie, Seraphina finally understood why the boss was so fond of her, why he cherished her so much.
In some ways, Natalie and Zane were very alike.
Yvonne hadn’t anticipated this side of Natalie, assuming she was just a spoiled, clueless girl.
Driven back by Natalie’s approach, Yvonne retreated a step, her gaze panicked but soon calmed, meeting Natalie’s eyes.
"What does Serena have to do with me? What does it have to do with our Blackwood Family? Is this how Zane treats potential partners?"
Hearing this, Natalie laughed, finding Yvonne as naive as Serena, as foolish as Serena.
"Yes, that’s exactly the attitude. Serena is part of the Blackwood Family, and we just can’t stand them, just want to suppress them. And furthermore."
Natalie stepped closer, towering over Yvonne in her heels.
"Even without Serena, you all aren’t qualified, understand?"
She finished with a snicker.
Yvonne’s hands clenched tightly at her sides. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"You!"
Natalie noticed her movement.
"What? Annoyed by me, wanting to fight? I’d advise against it. You couldn’t take me."
With that, Natalie flashed Yvonne a smug, taunting glance before pulling Seraphina along.
As the door was about to close, Seraphina couldn’t help but say.
"Madam, you were amazing."
Inside the meeting room, the sound of things being thrown in anger could be heard, prompting Natalie to arch an eyebrow, grabbing Seraphina’s hand.
"That final blow of yours was perfect."
Seraphina smiled; even if she meant it that way, she added,
"I truly think you’re impressive."
Hearing that, Natalie gave Seraphina a flirtatious look.
"Falling for me?"
Seraphina’s heart raced, nodding uncontrollably.
"Yes!"
This scene happened to be witnessed by Zane, who had come to check on the situation — perfect, he shouldn’t have come. He knew precisely how capable his girl was; he should’ve trusted her to handle Yvonne effortlessly, not worried about the million-to-one chance, only to witness such a scene.
"Nina."
He called out, his deep voice interrupting the two women’s conversation.
"Come here."
If they continued, their gaze could form strings between them.
Natalie felt a natural camaraderie with Seraphina, a sense of having met a kindred spirit.
"What’s up?"
Her response was rather dismissive.
Zane didn’t want many people to notice him feeling jealous about Seraphina, so he moved forward, wrapped Natalie in his arms, and silently brought her into the office.
The girl in his arms wasn’t content, even giving Seraphina a thumbs-up as she turned back.
Zane: ...
The door closed firmly, and Natalie looked at Zane, smiling.
"At this rate, should I start calling you Mr. Jealous?"
