Chapter 711: Chapter 361: The Secret That Cannot Be Told (Part 2)

These days I’ve been dutifully taste-testing buns, and even though I haven’t provided any useful feedback besides eating, at least I’ve eaten the most.

Can’t have it that I didn’t die from overeating during taste-tests, but end up frightened to death at the amusement park, right?

Qin Huai is still very concerned about Ouyang’s safety and thoughtfully warns, "Luoluo, your Brother Yang has been working out lately, so he shouldn’t play too many exciting rides. He can accompany you once or twice, but if you want to play more, queue up yourself and let your Brother Yang take photos of you from the side."

Qin Luo looks at Ouyang with anticipation, "Brother Yang, is that okay?"

Then Qin Luo invites Zheng Siyuan, "Brother Si Yuan, do you want to join us?"

After riding the roller coaster once, Tan Wei’an and Zang Liang realize that the rides at this amusement park are a bit too thrilling for them, so they go for the baby bus-type merry-go-rounds and spinning cups.

As for Luo Jun and others, after checking in on the roller coaster, they head to other attractions. Qu Jing really wanted to play at the amusement park, so she rode the roller coaster once with Qin Huai and others. Chen Huihong originally didn’t want to play, but Qu Jing pulled her along, and she got hooked.

As soon as they were off the roller coaster, they rushed to the drop tower, and Luo Jun had to push his own wheelchair as no one helped him.

On the way here, Luo Jun kept saying that visiting the amusement park once before he dies was no big deal, but once inside, he became just a companion.

Only Shi Dadan was faithfully filming with his phone the whole time, but he didn’t capture Luo Jun at all. If Shi Dadan had just turned around and taken a few shots of Luo Jun following behind Chen Huihong and Qu Jing pushing the wheelchair, that photo could have made it into a promoted news article.

"Shocking: A nonagenarian pushing a wheelchair alone in an amusement park; Is this the extinction of humanity or moral decay?!"

Speaking of Shi Dadan, he’s not quite normal either.

On the ride here, Shi Dadan claimed that he wanted to come to the amusement park, which is why he invited everyone along, yet he’s actually the one among the spirits least interested in coming to the amusement park.

Luo Jun might indeed have wanted to come to the amusement park a little, but due to health reasons, he could only silently push his wheelchair without playing any rides.

Shi Dadan can participate in rides but is completely uninterested.

He didn’t follow Chen Huihong and the others; instead, he stood below the roller coaster with his phone all along, taking pictures and videos. Those who know him understand that his apparent role is as the photographer Chen Huihong invited to document this care for the elderly event, but others might think the elderly person being cared for is Qin Huai.

Thankfully, Zang Liang and Tan Wei’an genuinely wanted to play, not paying much attention to others. Zheng Siyuan wasn’t really interested in the amusement park; he just wanted a change of scenery and wasn’t familiar with the tasks of the community committee, so he didn’t find Shi Dadan’s behavior odd.

Ouyang understood the community committee’s work, but he knew Luo Jun well and found Zang Liang’s passive attitude towards tasks completely normal. If he were responsible for taking pictures, he’d try to slack off too, snapping a few random shots just for the sake of it.

As for Qin Luo, she was already having too much fun to care about anything, having not even touched the snacks she brought along.

This group couldn’t produce a single normal person among them because if there were even one, they would find the rest of them abnormal.

After Qin Huai texted Ouyang the offer of an entire day’s worth of free snacks, supporting the takeaway of up to 20 kilograms of snacks for his parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunts to enhance family bonds and cover up any shortcomings during the new year, Ouyang instantly declared his love for the pirate ship and drop tower rides.

Qin Luo really saw it correctly. Ouyang had been working out lately just to improve his fitness, so he could accompany Qin Luo on the pirate ship and drop tower today.

As Qin Luo’s second brother, Zheng Siyuan didn’t mind accompanying Qin Luo. As long as he’s with someone, it’s the same. Qin Luo is young, and it makes sense for her to have an adult accompany her at the amusement park, though Ouyang isn’t very reliable, and following along means no backpack to carry—

Most of the food and water were in Qin Luo and Ouyang’s bags, so they were the first to volunteer to carry the bags (since they wanted to eat).

Seeing that Qin Huai needed a break, Zheng Siyuan handed him a bottle of water and joined Ouyang and Qin Luo heading towards the drop tower, leaving Qin Huai and Shi Dadan behind.

Qin Huai found a bench to sit and relax, while Shi Dadan kept watching the videos he’d just recorded.

After recovering, Qin Huai’s mind returned to normal, logic prevailed, and he realized that this Dang Kang, whom he isn’t very familiar with, really isn’t quite right in the head.

The Gift was triggered too suddenly, and before Qin Huai realized it, he was dragged by Qin Luo onto the roller coaster for five rides. Now that he’s calm, Qin Huai noticed how odd the timing of this Dang Kang’s Gift was.

No logic whatsoever.

According to the initial explanation given by the game system, the spirits would give Gifts, but these Gifts should theoretically be rewards given by the spirits as thanks after Qin Huai helped them awaken.

Shi Dadan clearly doesn’t fall into this category.

He’s a very special spirit, awakened as soon as he appeared, with virtually no interaction with Qin Huai. To put it bluntly, in the game, the Dang Kang card is somewhat like a useless card because it takes up a slot but doesn’t serve any function.

Shi Dadan’s Gift is also very intriguing.

His Gift isn’t a tangible reward but memories, which are rewards only triggered when Qin Huai completes side or main quests under normal circumstances.
