Chapter 377: 377, are you scared?

[Margaret’s Perspective]

Because of the current tinderbox situation, that woman and Henry didn’t really make a move against me. How could she dare to touch me, being nothing more than a powerless figurehead?

Lillian was merely trying to show off her authority in front of me and then use her words to embarrass me. But with her poor articulation, she never had a chance to gain any advantage over me! She wasn’t even a match for Elizabeth when it came to verbal sparring and irritating others.

Brand had been nervous ever since Lillian entered the room, but seeing the current situation, he gradually relaxed, sensing that Lillian wouldn’t pose any threat to me!

Indeed, it had proven true. Lillian’s thoughts were still stuck on competing with me out of jealousy, but the reality of the situation wasn’t that simple. Donald never had eyes for her, and I never considered her a rival in love.

This ludicrous love triangle probably only existed in her naive imagination.

Having failed to find fault, Lillian was nearly enraged to death, but luckily, the next person to push the door open provided her an out, saving her the embarrassment of not being able to exit gracefully.

"Why are you here too? Who let you in? If you keep failing to control yourself, I wouldn’t mind having Austin lock you up directly!"

Following Henry was Alpha Levi of the Spirit Dragon Pack; these two coming to see me together probably wasn’t good news.

Thinking this silently, I no longer gave Lillian any attention and turned to resume my seat.

With her biggest support not present, Lillian didn’t dare confront Henry directly; she could only force herself to control her emotions, shooting me a fierce glare before leaving.

Henry glanced at her departing figure with the corner of his eye, then withdrew his gaze after a long moment, "What was her purpose in coming here?" Henry asked directly.

Facing the constant appearance of these people, I was somewhat speechless. I looked down at the silver handcuffs on my wrist and didn’t intend to talk with Henry.

But this madman couldn’t be avoided just by staying silent. He took a seat across from me, looked at me, and continued, "It’s okay if you don’t want to talk to me. Would you like to know the news about Donald, though?"

At his words, I paused my movements and looked up coldly at him, "What exactly do you want, get to the point and don’t waste time!"

Henry smiled and spoke, "As expected, only matters concerning Donald can catch your attention. I win again, do you admit defeat, Levi?"

His words were clearly not directed at me. I took a breath, my cool gaze flowing between him and Levi.

Levi seemed unwilling to speak with Henry either; hearing this, he only hummed with a laugh and looked down at me, speaking directly, "You must know about Donald’s plan to attack Poison Snake Island. What is his exact strategy? What secrets is he plotting with Gino? You all have been close with the Marine Supervision Bureau, certainly, you have other plans. You better tell me everything you know, or else..."

Levi paused, his held gun shifting to point directly at my head!

"Or else what? If you’re going to threaten someone, you might as well finish your line," I said, helping him complete it, though he narrowed his eyes coldly at me. I hooked a corner of my mouth, attempting to explain, "You ask things I’m not privy to. Donald rarely talks to me about his work, so I really don’t know."

"If you tone down that sarcasm in your eyes a bit, then maybe I’d find that believable, but now, do you think I would believe you?"

If the situation weren’t so unsuitable, I truly wanted to roll my eyes at Levi. He, like Henry, loved to talk nonsense.

Me: "..."

My silence made Levi a bit embarrassed; he took a deep breath and continued, "You fear nothing, but would you fear for this young man’s life because of you?"

As he spoke, he moved the gun to point at Brand nearby.

I stood up, looking at him with an increasingly frosty expression, but didn’t speak.

Brand, with the gun pointed at him, tensed up, his eyes darting briefly towards me, showing no plea for help but a flicker of resignation.

At that moment, I wasn’t catching onto Brand’s emotions; I was just staring at Levi, my mind racing for a solution.

"Dealing with Donald must be headache enough for you and Henry, right? Brand’s father is the director of the Marine Supervision Bureau, Berton. Are you sure you want to kill him now and directly provoke the entire Lilo Sea?" I said harshly, slowly moving to stand in front of Brand.

Levi wasn’t as tall as Donald, but I still had to tilt my head up to meet his cold, narrow eyes.

His gun was pressed against my chest, and though I was scared, I dared not gamble with Brand’s life! Levi, like Henry, was mad and obsessive.

The scene became a tense standoff. Neither I nor Levi backed down, while Henry watched leisurely from the sidelines.

"Margaret!"

Brand’s hoarse, tense voice rose behind me, dispersing some of the tension at the scene.
