Abandoned by the Alpha, I Became the Lycan King's Mate-Chapter 364 out of control
[Donald’s Perspective]
Ruth was a frail she-wolf, her somewhat dry and sallow face covered in freckles. Apart from her meticulous and thoughtful nature in her work, there was nothing particularly striking about her.
Back when she was in the Silver Moon Pack, it was Margaret who pitied her and rescued her from her hellish family! Ruth had five or six siblings and was the most ordinary and easiest to bully among them, and of course, least loved by her parents.
One could say that if it weren’t for Margaret’s kindness in helping her, she would have never been able to leave the Silver Moon Pack or escape that loveless hellish family.
And it was because I knew all this that I couldn’t understand her act of betraying Margaret!
Ruth lay prostrate on the floor, covering her face and crying in agony. She looked disheveled and pitiful, but I merely watched her coldly, feeling no stir of emotion within me.
I even found her reaction somewhat ridiculous and ironic. I bent down and looked at her, scoffing coldly, "What are you crying for here? The one who should be crying is Margaret, isn’t it right? What has she ever done to wrong you that you would stab her in the back like this?"
Ruth clearly understood my sarcasm. Her whole body trembled slightly as she cried, as if she was enduring some unbearable inner pain.
My patience finally ran out, and I snatched up the handgun that I had thrown on the desk earlier. I stood up abruptly from the sofa, the cold barrel pointing directly at her forehead, "Shut your mouth, I don’t want to hear your howling! Either tell me where they are taking her, or I will kill you right now, and you won’t have to struggle with explaining yourself! Make your choice, now!"
The gun barrel was pressed against Ruth’s forehead, and she, terrified, forgot to cry. Her expression froze, and my finger was already on the trigger, the muzzle so low that she had to lean her neck back!
The Lycans surrounding me were already too scared to speak. The room was so quiet except for my heavy breathing, it seemed like even their heartbeats were suppressed.
"I...Woo woo! It was a werewolf named Levi. He threatened me with my mother’s life. If I didn’t do as he commanded this time, he would kill her! I didn’t want to do it, the Lycan Queen has been too good to me, but I had no choice!"
"I know I was wrong, Your Majesty! You can kill me now, but I beg you to rescue my mother from those people. She is just a foolish and ignorant old woman who knows nothing!"
As Ruth spoke, tears welled up in her eyes like a dam had broken; she was nearly collapsing from crying!
But I had already collapsed. The corners of my mouth curled up in a bloodthirsty arc, and my tone was like millennia-old ice, "Without Margaret, your worthless life means nothing to me! Killing you would be a waste of a bullet."
"I don’t want to listen to your pathetic excuses anymore. Even if they really threatened you with your mother’s life, you shouldn’t have betrayed Margaret!" I said, unable to control my rage any longer, my gun-wielding hand wavered by a few centimeters, and I pulled the trigger!
’Bang!’ 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Ahhhh!"
The sound of the gunshot mingled with my roar shattered Ruth’s sanity; she screamed, terrified by the bullet that grazed her cheek.
"Your Majesty!"
"Your Majesty!"
"Donald! Calm down!"
Several tense voices cried out simultaneously; even the usually very calm Gino called out. They seemed terrified that in my rage, I might shoot and kill this disgraceful traitor!
"In Color-pennant Town to the south of Black Sand Bay! The Queen must have been taken to Color-pennant Town..." Ruth’s voice broke down as she spoke, tears mingling with fresh blood streaming down her face, making it look like an ugly palette.
She collapsed to the ground, continuing to tremble as she spoke, "When I talked to my mother, she mentioned this town, and said that after it was all over, those people would let her leave directly by boat! I really didn’t want to harm the Lycan Queen, but I had no other choice; if I didn’t, they would kill my mother!"
"I didn’t truly intend to endanger the Lycan Queen’s life, otherwise, I wouldn’t have notified Eric! The Queen initially didn’t mean to bother Eric. She just asked me to find a way to contact Captain Christian, but I followed Levi’s orders and hid this message of her seeking help! I was wrong, I deserve to die, please hurry and save the Queen, Your Majesty!"
Ruth, crying and kneeling down before me, looked up with an expression of emotional collapse.
I withdrew my cold gaze from her face, gestured to Christian standing aside to get ready to move, and spoke in a harsh tone, "You do deserve to die, but it will wait until Margaret is safely back. You better pray your information is accurate, because even dying a hundred times won’t be enough to atone for a fraction of your sins!"
