Chapter 245: My apologies to the Lycan Queen

[Margaret’s POV]

I slightly furrowed my brows, finding it amusing and absurd as I watched Lillian, who suddenly had an emotional breakdown and began cursing at me.

"I don’t think there were any particularly obscure words in Donald’s introduction of me before, were they hard to understand, or does Miss Lillian have a problem with her comprehension ability?"

I’m not usually the type to confront people like this, but Lillian was one of the rare exceptions who could elicit such distaste from me at first sight!

Being straightforward and speaking without restraint are sometimes two different things. The indulgence and pampering of her parents and older brother do not justify her arrogant and impolite behavior. She seems even more detestable than Elizabeth was before.

At least our Elizabeth wouldn’t be so foolish as to publicly provoke the Lycan Queen and offend the Lycan King.

"What do you mean by that? Are you mocking me?" Lillian glared at me with her big eyes, as if she couldn’t believe what she was hearing and seemed ready to devour me alive if I dared to nod in agreement! 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

I couldn’t quite grasp why she was so angry, so I casually raised an eyebrow and watched her with an exceeding calm.

I noticed that the gazes of everyone in the hall were fixed on us, feeling somewhat caught off guard and irked.

I was about to ask Austin, who had stood by her side in silence, whether their family always allowed such arrogant and rash behavior from their girls.

But before I could voice my questions, Donald, next to me, and Austin, who had been feigning deafness, spoke up in unison:

"Lillian! What are you planning to do to my queen?"

"Shut your mouth, Lillian, have you gone mad? You have no right to speak here, get down!"

"I..." Suddenly chastised by the two most prestigious men in the hall, Lillian, no matter how spoiled she had been before, was startled into silence, her mouth opening as if she wanted to say something, but Austin obviously didn’t give her the chance.

"Go down!" Austin commanded her in a cold voice.

Seeing this, I gave a glance to Alpha Austin without showing any reaction and thought he was quite clever and adept in dealing with people.

He didn’t speak when Lillian was rude to me at first, but as he saw Donald’s expression growing colder and colder, he hurried to play the role of a stern parent.

Despite Austin scolding Lillian, in reality, he was still protecting her.

Setting other things aside, it seemed that Austin was quite a good brother who doted on his sister.

He must still hold considerable weight in Lillian’s heart. Having been sternly rebuked by him twice, Lillian seemed to have got the message to restrain herself.

She glanced at me resentfully a couple of times before turning to leave, but Donald wasn’t someone easily fooled.

He wouldn’t allow this brother-sister pair to challenge and bully me in front of him like this, "Stop, did I allow you to leave?"

Lillian halted her steps and looked up at Donald beside me, surprised.

"Earlier, you didn’t know that Margaret was my queen, and you were rude to her. I can overlook that, but you clearly heard how I introduced her just now, and yet you continued to speak to her disrespectfully. That’s a bit too much."

"Your Majesty! Lillian, she..."

Seeming to realize that Donald had no intention of letting this slide, Austin’s expression changed, and he hastily attempted to intercede on Lillian’s behalf, but was immediately silenced by a cold look from Donald.

Austin closed his mouth and said no more, and Donald then withdrew his gaze from him, "I know you’ve been spoiled by Austin without discipline, but that was in the past. You’re grown up now, and you can’t always think of yourself as a child, can you? You need to be responsible for your own actions."

Donald then looked at me apologetically, his eyes full of tenderness and concern.

"Now, apologize to my queen. If she forgives you, I will let you leave today! Looking at your brother is useless, apologize!" Donald’s voice was very cold, and his gaze upon Lillian was filled with chill.

Observing Donald like this warmed my heart, thinking how wonderful he was!

I’ve encountered situations like this more than once. Not to speak of these people from the irrelevant Wild Wind Pack, even within my own pack, many doubted and scorned.

It seems that an ordinary person like me is fated not to be with the highly esteemed Donald! Even if we are fated mates granted by the Moon Goddess, it seems it’s not that simple to be accepted by everyone.

I knew such doubts wouldn’t end with today, but ultimately, Donald has always stood by me, and that’s more than enough for me.

I’m a person who is easily contented; as long as Donald loves me, that’s all I need.

I chuckled lightly and met Lillian’s indignant gaze, waiting for her to apologize to me.
