A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 434: Future Ball

The group continues to tour inside the tower. Even though it was a pocket dimension disguised as an interior to the tower, one can still view outside the tower like it was actually part of a window. One would think the interior is normal and not something made of magic with this when in truth, it is quite well different.

Elaina might not be knowledgeable related to magic considering she can’t even use mana in the first place but even with that, Elaina has some knowledge on some things related to it like the alchemist tools on the table. Some of them looks strange but according to what she knows, some of them are usable even if one has no magic and they are used for various purposes like brewing potions and medicine from time to time. Elaina wanted to learn more on alchemy and she will try asking Julia about it soon.

As they continue to ascend the tower, they soon arrived at the final floor where the personal room of the Grand Sage is located and where all his mementos throughout his life are being kept. There are various things here and there that one would marvel and stare at for hours. Even Elaina has been fascinated by the weapon collection that the Grand Sage has.

"Those weapons are something I retrieved from various locations and some of them are mementos from my students who have died a hero throughout their life time. I might not use weapons to fight but I do think of them as something to make me remember them. They are something I would want to keep on, even if my memory fades away. It is something I wanted to treasure even until the very end. That way, I won’t forget, that once, these weapons once served as something that made them achieve their dreams."

Hearing this, she nodded in agreement. She might not be a warrior, but she understood what the Grand Sage is trying to send. It might just be a piece of metal but depending on the person themselves, they can be a weapon that will claim lives, or they might be a weapon that protects. And once the wielder dies or let the weapon go, the only thing that will remember that memory is none other than weapon itself.

As the group continue to admire on the collection, Raye who was currently checking on the other displays spotted a glowing ball. Considering that the weapons and the items present there are all glowing, the glowing ball is nothing sort of extraordinary to immediately catch someone’s eye. It just so happens that Raye’s attention was caught by it.

"Gramps, what is this?"

Elaina’s ears immediately perked up and looked at Raye with worry hearing what he just called the Grand Sage but it seems that the Grand Sage didn’t mind being called Gramps by him and responded.

"Oh, you had a good eye, kid. This thing is called the Future Ball. It’s kind of wacky, I must say. It’s called Future Ball as it was said to be a device that shows future to the one who activated it but many things keeps on changing there and one can say that it always shows inconsistent scenes that sometimes one will think how could those things happen. But even with the inconsistency of the item, I decided to keep it as something I would like to just keep on this room to at least be a decoration that can help aside from the weapons."

"Well, it is called Future Ball, yes? Can I check it out? My future, I mean?" Raye asked.

"Even when it is inconsistent?"

"That’s more better. I don’t want to see a bad future and ended up being scared on what will happen. Knowing that it works inconsistent, even if it is bad or good, there is no certainty it will happen."

The Grand Sage chuckled hearing this. "Well, if you want to try it, then here. Have a try and see for yourself. Just touch the future ball and let the future ball do the job."

Raye nodded and put his hands to the future ball and the shine that the future ball got slowly dimmed and soon the ball itself is projecting a little scene. Everyone got curious so they looked at the scene happening inside the future ball. Even Elaina got curious and checked inside and there, Raye is currently showing his real form but he is already an adult and he is holding a weapon. Not only that but he is currently standing on some sort of burning land that it looks like a battlefield. On his back are two people, a woman and man but because they are facing behind, even with their features, it is hard to determine who they are but based on how they look, it is clear they are humans.

Elaina was surprised by this as she was suddenly reminded of Raye’s real origin. Seeing him embrace and use that power in the future ball means he not only use it for himself, but he also uses it more in the future.

As for Raye, being a kid, his eyes sparkled with delight seeing the future he is seeing. "Wow, I look badass in here. Seeing how I look like a strong warrior like I wanted, its such a shame I will have no idea if this will come true but seeing the background I am standing, I don’t think I want this future to happen. It looks like chaos and danger all around. I hope its nothing."

Raye’s words suddenly made some sense to Elaina and understood the Future Ball’s real ability. It is indeed telling the future during the moment the person who got the their fortune told, however, considering that there are various things that a person can do in their life, some things will influence the world and that would also result in the future changing as well, which is why the Future Ball keeps on changing its future.

And seeing the scenes on the Future Ball, Elaina fears that the scenery on the future might be something that will be happening in the future.
