A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 420: Escape

The Pope struggles as explosions on the ship continues to engulf the whole thing. Seeing that almost every soldier that were trying to salvage the ship have either jumped off the water or have died from the blast, there is no more reason to keep hiding what he was hiding if his life is on the line. He might have divinity blood but he wasn’t recognized and worshipped as one which is why he is still considered as half divine. He will still die in the process upon receiving a lethal wound.

The burst of light that came out from his body is the divinity powers at work. He is still a god candidate even if he didn’t ascend as a proper god. Using it will give him a slight boost of power and the ability to use his powers as a god temporarily but since he didn’t ascend as a god he will not be able to keep using it compared to the time when he was still a God candidate. He has already passed the time limit to become a god.

No more soldiers are worth rescuing...aside from the remaining person who can still be rescued.

This human might be selfish and a bit useless but he can see potential on her. Not just that much compared to her sister who excels in a lot of things. But for him, she is more interesting compared to her sister. Unlike her, the older sister is useless in magic. She can’t use and get affected easily by magic. Mental attacks will be useless against her and manipulation just won’t work.

It is the opposite from Selena. Selena has quite the aptitude of magic and she holds quite the power to use one. She is too sensitive to it that she can be used as a pawn by manipulating her consciousness. And she can be a vital piece of power for him in the future. But for now, he has to escape. Screw the war, he needed to return to Luminiera Kingdom and stop the war declaration at once. With how prepared the enemies are, they cannot hope to beat them just yet. Their preparation might have been able to drive them away but they will return. But for now, survival is the priority.

Picking up Selena, a few magic bullets is being fired into their direction and a few graze his skin. And as soon as it grazes his skin, the pain of being burned seems to amplify and he can feel the danger he was currently in right now.

"Haha, damn, they even prepared anti-divinity magic spells as well. F*cking bastards...how did they know?"

Now that he knows that the enemy is also capable of unleashing anti-divinity and has used it specifically on him, that means they have already know his true identity and they are using it now to take him down before he can escape. But he is still too stubborn to die. No way he will allow to be killed by someone like them.

With a little bit of struggle, he lift up the unconscious Selena after the explosion caused her to lose consciousness and rises up in the air. He then erected a barrier that can block any projectile including the anti-divinity magic to announce something.

"YOU PEOPLE WIN, FOR NOW. WE WILL BE WITHDRAWING BUT IF YOU PLAN TO ATTACK LUMINIERA KINGDOM, WE WILL RETALIATE."

After saying that he quickly made a mad dash and escaped before the barrier disappears completely and he became vulnerable to attacks, leaving behind the wreckage of his ship and the remaining soldiers who are floating in the sea.

That day, the kingdom of Luminiera withdraw from the war and the standstill finally ended after a few weeks with Darcero Kingdom appearing to be the winner. The news made those who live in Darcero Kingdom to be happy and glad that the war is over and the soldiers of the kingdom managed to keep the enemies at bay, leaving only the seaside as the only place where the battle occurred and all of the residences of the kingdom has remained safe and intact throughout the beginning and end of the war.

Plenty of people also started to try and get information regarding the Luminiera Kingdom and how it handled the loss of the war but for some reason, the Kingdom seems to have gone silent. The rulers are absent and the elders who was supposed to help the royalty were useless and can’t do anything without anyone who will be ruling the kingdom. It was also soon revealed in the public the defection of the Luminiera Kingdom’s Emperor to Darcero Kingdom and the news of how he is the main reason the war was defended much earlier after he gathered intel and took it to the king in an attempt to atone for his sins for his wife.

Many might not understand the former Emperor’s actions but if he isn’t even the main reason for the war, the question remains for everyone who didn’t know the truth.

"Who is the person who declared war and finalized the encounter?"

Unfortunately, that information will remain to be buried and no one will know what happen aside from those who were involved.

After the war ended, the war lockdown finally ended and peace returned, allowing every family that vacated the premises of their homes to slowly return one by one. It will take some time before the normalcy once again returned to the way it was but everything will be fine.

Elaina was delighted to hear that the Luminiera Kingdom surrendered. Princess Margaux returned to the farmhouse oncea again to live temporarily with them after the war. Since there wasn’t too much damage from the war, the settlement and repair of the place was done quickly. Of course, things were a lot of process to be done, but according to the First Prince, he will handle all the necessary task and let the girls enjoy their time off. They have handled the situation a lot better than expected so they didn’t need to be in the burden of dealing the aftermath of war.

Aside from that, Elaina gained a little bit of boon from the war itself. Thanks to her contribution, her farm’s food produce became famous and her food delicacies were also mentioned a lot. In short, after she showed the soldiers what her cooking does, everyone has been speaking positive about it and how she was one of the reasons that the tide of the battle was in favor to Darcero Kingdom’s win. And it wasn’t an exaggeration. Without her cooking, the saboteur wouldn’t spill the beans, the enemy ship forced to retreat temporarily and the mages getting powered up to shoot magic missiles at the final battle was all thanks to Elaina’s cooking.

Everyone wanted Elaina to open up shop for food but this time, Elaina declined. As much as she does wanted to open an eatery of some sort, she decided against it as it is much better to focus on farming and do cooking as a sideline. And besides, with Douglas returning to open business once more, she has no need to steal a business from someone who taught her how to properly cook when she was still wet behind the ears.

"Is that how the soldiers have been treating me?" Elaina asked as Princess Margaux narrates the viewpoint of the soldiers towards her actions during the war.

"Yes, Miss Elaina! They were so grateful that you decided to help out on that battle. Without you helping out, perhaps the war would not be on our favor especially after the food was sabotaged. We might have been able to hold on for quite some time but we would eventually gave out to the pressure when there is no food to resupply the energy of everyone."

"[See, Elaina? Even if you did not participate in the war, your actions, though small, are enough to shake the tides of the battle and avoid total annihilation. It was all thanks to the fresh ingredients you used and all the food resources you keep for years in preparation for the war.]" the God of Farming is very proud.

"Yes, thanks to you and everyone’s help, the war’s worst outcome has been averted and we still enjoy peace and quiet."

"But despite our win, my father expresses concern over at the disappearance of the Pope of the church on Luminiera Kingdom. Even my brother thought that he will return there to recuperate but according to our spies that are present there, the Church has been vacant and the followers of the church are like headless chicken running about now that the Pope is missing. Not only that but even your Sister was nowhere to be seen as well," Princess Margaux shared the news to Elaina.

"[There is a high chance he decided to recuperate. His divinity is weak and he can only do so much after gathering temporary power from his followers. But we still needed to be mindful about him. If he is missing, that must mean he will return in the future. Elaina, you needed to be careful. By now, that guy would already keep you on his radar. Once he returns I can guarantee he will prioritize you as the person he needed to eliminate.]" the God of Farming said with certainty.

Just then, a familiar voice echoes behind them.

"I can tell you are worried about the missing Pope and your Sister and what they might do in the future against you, but don’t worry, Sis. I might still be a bit green and has yet to fully accomplish anything, but now that I have returned, this farm will remain to be safe from anyone."

Elaina turned around and the person with purple hair smiled as she made a graceful bow to Elaina like how she usually does as a maid.

"Julia has finally returned home, Sis!"
