A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 417: Saboteur [II]

Even before the saboteur entered the farm, Yona was already observing him from afar. Thanks to the upgraded barrier, even those people who have yet to enter the farm can already be detected, especially if those people have ulterior motives that can directly harm the farm.

Since emotions are easily captured through magic, even the slightest change can be detected by it and with Yona being very good at controlling the magic that was entrusted to her by Julia, she has gotten so good at manipulating and controlling it that one might say that even if she didn’t make the magic itself, can be said that she have expanded the usage of it that she even incorporate it to some of her magic spells especially interrogation spells. Yona has Julia to thank, as without her making this barrier and explaining the intricacies, perhaps she would not even understand how it totally works.

After his entry to the farm, Yona is already manipulating every move he makes. She made sure that he followed a certain path that would not allow him to even find those fairies that are currently hiding who she had already warned before the entry of the perpetrator. Thanks to his motive, she made him come to the farm’s crops as a way to show what he should be destroying. Of course, she isn’t going to allow it, just baiting to ensure that he will do the method he needs to do. She will handle the rest on how she would use that method he was using to her advantage.

Thankfully enough, Yona’s plan doesn’t need too much trouble preparing, as the saboteur’s method isn’t too complicated to counter. Using a slight bit of telekinesis, she disturbed his way of handling the chemical he was meant to use, and using her control, instead of falling to the ground, she made the liquid splash at the saboteur instead, backfiring the intended use of the chemical and totally wasting it.

Though she didn’t expect that the chemical would be too nasty, even on a human, as the chemical she splashed on his face had caused severe burning and severe melting for the face of the man. She was surprised, but she didn’t feel sorry for the guy. He planned to do a nefarious thing, and he got it, which resulted in his tragedy. One can say it was some sort of karmic retribution, but it depends, considering he suffered from it, and he is most likely just someone who is following orders. It might be a bit too extreme, but it doesn’t really matter anymore. If he is going to ruin someone’s livelihood in the first place, then he is prepared for the punishment he will be receiving from karma itself.

Due to that chemical melting and damaging his face in the process, the guy screamed in pain and thus woke the main guard of the farm, though it is more accurate to say that it is only waiting for the right time to strike. If she hadn’t meddled with the saboteur early, perhaps the saboteur would have been mauled by now.

Still, now that Shardu decided to take action, Yona decided to stop interfering and have Shardu do his job, and besides, she already had her fun. There’s no need to take the fun from the others now.

The saboteur has lost his eyesight after the chemical splattered all over his face, especially his eyes. He cursed himself for being clumsy as hell and how he ruined his one-time chance. If he had made a successful work this time, he would have gotten a promotion at this point, and he could have received a bigger wage for his work, and he could finally continue gambling. But with his eyes damaged like this, he can only hope that the Pope would heal the wounds he has in the process, even with a failed mission.

Now that he screamed in pain, it is highly likely he would be discovered any second now, and so, it is time to bail out and move back to the shadows before he is found by those people. No way in hell he would afford to get captured and executed at this point.

Even with blind eyes hindering him, he uses his other senses to locate and properly navigate his way out of the farm. Even if he is rendered incapable of sight right now, he is still trained to handle things like this in case things happened. Now that it happened right at this moment, his training started to kick off.

As he continue to navigate the farm, he realized that he is slowly feeling hazy. His senses remain sharp, but for some reason, it was hazy and his senses seems to be in a turmoil. He can’t properly navigate due to some external triggers that seems to be doing something on his senses, which is slowing his movements. Still, even with that happening, he is still trying his best to get out as soon as possible. It isn’t that far and he is sure that the farmer herself has yet to arrive at home, therefore he is currently safe.

Scrambling over at the surroundings with the pain in his face being endured, he continue to move. But then, he suddenly sense a presence. And this presence is huge. As soon as he detected the presence, he tried to move out of the way but for some reason the presence itself is so strong that the way he was supposed to take disappeared and he can’t tell where he was going now.

Before he can do anything, he was suddenly feeling a surge of air and his feet left the ground all of a sudden. He cannot see anything and all he can tell is that he is no longer in a stable position. Connecting the dots, he finally understood what is happening to him as a surge of wind blow past his face as his body plummets.

"AAAAAAHHH!"

Before he knew it, his consciousness faded away.

"So in short, this guy was going to ruin the crops I was growing at the moment using his chemical and by manipulating the chemical’s container, you instead splashed it to his face causing him to look like this?" Elaina looked at the poor guy who is currently tied up on the apple tree.

"Yes. However, after that part, it wasn’t my doing anymore as Shardu decided to play with the guy and throw him into the air. It seems that the guy has a fear of heights as he passed out during the first throw. And besides, if the chemical have destroyed his eyes, perhaps the feeling of falling but not seeing where he is going to fall just enhanced his fear further."

"Understandable enough but thanks to the two of you, we managed to avoid annoying trouble and my crops are saved," Elaina said as she glance over at the chemical. It was an acid type chemical that can corrode anything it touches into. No wonder his face has been so awful to look at that he looks like a walking corpse that came out from a blast site. His skull is very close to be seen already. It was a miracle of some sort that he is still alive even at that state.

"So, what are you going to do about him?" Yona asked.

"There is no point keeping him, but I have something I wanted to try," Elaina grinned and pulled out something from her pocket.

"Candy?"

"Yes. But if this works well, perhaps I can take advantage of this."

As he was waking up, although he can still tell he is alive, he can tell he is also tied up. He tried to move but the rope on his hands and body is tight enough that even trying to escape using his method of removing a rope was not possible.

Before he can even do anything, a hand grab his mouth and forcefully open it. He tried to struggle but before he could do so, a round thing entered his mouth. He tried to spit it out but it fell straight to his throat.

It was sweet but whatever it is, he didn’t like it.

"Alright, looks like you can still speak yes?"

"Yes."

The saboteur’s face contorted. He was going to keep quiet but for some reason his mouth didn’t keep a tight zip.

However, whatever was in his mind, he couldn’t say it in his mouth. It was like his mouth has been possessed by something else and has gained some sort of sentience and is now acting on its own.

Seeing his face contort but his mouth speaking out, Elaina grinned. Her creation works wonders. The candy she made was a candy with an effect that will cause anyone who eats it say the truth and they cannot lie. The moment they tried to lie, their mouth will take over and say the truth no matter what the person tries to conceal things. A candy that would be the bane for any spies, saboteurs and anyone who tries to lie their way out of a mess.
