A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 416: Saboteur [I]
Chapter 416: Saboteur [I]
The food was delicious enough for thr soldiers to feel awake for the next few hours. They are so awake that all the fatigue that has accumulated earlier after the buff from the fried rice disappeared has been removed and was replenished with the necessary energy they needed for staying up late at night.
"That’s a big success I must say," Elaina wiped off the sweat in her brow after all of the curry handed out.
"Good job, Mom! Another successful food distribution!" Arthur gave his Mother a thumbs up.
"Should we start packing up? Some soldiers has yet to bring back the plate we serve curry from," Layla asked.
"How many plates?"
"Two. One is from the last guy who receive the curry last, I don’t know who was the other soldier who didn’t bring the plate back though."
"Strange. Shouldn’t they have returned the plates so far?"
As they were trying to know where the other plate has gone, the soldier who was the last to grab a curry returned to them. His curry has yet to be done but it seems that was not the case on why he was there.
"Miss! You have to see this! Someone seems to have wasted the rationed food you served on us!"
Elaina frowned hearing this. Although she shouldn’t be too surprised by this, someone wasting food all of a sudden and her curry at that is something unforgivable.
Following the soldier, they soon arrive at the disposal site where the soldiers dispose their garbage and used bandages that cannot be used anymore. There, the plate that she was looking for is currently on the dump among with the garbage. What’s worse is that the curry that was supposed to be eaten has been wasted on the ground.
The soldiers who have been curious on the situation have expressed their dismay and anger seeing the wasted food.
"Who is the f*cker who dares to waste good food like this?! If they were not going to eat it in the first place! I am still ready to eat the curry if I have gotten a chance and someone would just waste it like it was nothing?!"
"Such a waste! Someone seems to be not thankful enough for the free food we are getting!"
Seeing the commotion, Rakkan and the First Prince check the commotion happening.
"You lot are getting noisy, what is going on?" The First Prince asked.
"Reporting Sir! We have discovered someone throw away the perfectly fine curry that our benefactor has rationed to us into the dump. We still don’t know who is the culprit."
Hearing this, the First Prince finally understood something.
"I knew it. There is a mole in our army and is a traitorous bastard at that. It seems that they have a deathwish."
"Eh?" the other soldiers was shocked to hear what the First Prince revealed.
The First Prince approached Elaina.
"Miss Elaina. Looks like we have a traitor in our ranks and now that they have confirmed something especially with you becoming our source of food supply, I can bet that the person who have thrown the food away is also the one who tipped the enemy or the one who intentionally destroyed the food supply we were supposed to have. I bet that after they learned you are going to be the next supplier, your farm is now being targeted to be attacked now."
Elaina nodded. "Thanks for the information, Your Majesty. Then, will you excuse us and we will go back home immediately and hopefully, we will catch the culprit."
The First Prince nodded. Rakkan approached Elaina, worried.
"Should I help out on this? It would be much safer and much faster with me helping out."
"I appreciate the offer, Grandpa, but its fine for now. Everyone on the farm can handle that person if they try to mess something in the farm. Of course, if they are that capable. Which is why we will be heading home first to see if he is capable of doing so."
After that, Elaina and the kids tidy up their belongings before heading back home. Of course, Elaina is not worried in the slightest about their current enemy doing something that would hurt themselves in return. She is just praying that whoever that person is, she hopes they are still alive and well before they get captured.

...
The First Prince is correct. The enemy saboteur has already infiltrated the house of the farmer.
"That was easy," the saboteur grinned as he arrive at the farm.
He only has one reason why he is currently sneaking and is currently present on the farm. And that is to sabotage, destroy and render the food that Elaina stored useless.
Considering that food is the only way for a farmer to continue providing meals to the soldiers, he is quite sure that the farmer had a full storage of food currently ready to be piled and stocked up.
As he tried to get on his bearings, he stumbled over at the very big tree that towers all the other trees nearby. Not too far from the behive are flower pots that has various flowers growing. But those things are useless for the saboteur so he moves on ands head out over at the field where Elaina is currently growing various crops.
"That farmer is no joke. With how big the land she has over here, it is possible for her to grow food and pile a lot of it. But that all ends now. These crops of hers will surely be useless at this point."
He pulls out a flask containing contaminant that will destroy the quality of the soil and will destroy the crops faster than Elaina could have saved. It was highly corrosive and if a crop made contact with it, the crop will immediately die.
Opening the flask, he was ready to pour the liquid when...
Splash!
"Argh!" He roared in pain as the corrosive that he was supposed to pour over at the crops splashes in his face with some going straight into his eyes.
Since the liquid was corrosive in the first place, even humans are not safe from it.
He tried his best to wipe off the liquid in his face but considering the corrosiveness of the liquid, his face starts to melt before he can even do anything. With the liquid splashed over at his eyes, even if he asked a healer to heal his eyes, he will not be able to see again.
And because of his screams, the former beast lord, Shardu, wakes up from his slumber.
