Brainwashing is a magic skill that can be considered good or bad depending on how one uses it but most of the time, this spell is usually used in bad things even though it is not considered dark magic, it is being studied if it should be banned or not. Not everyone can use the spell, but if one is capable of doing so, they are someone who has a lot of mana and has a strong mental power. One with a weaker mental power is not capable of casting brainwashing.

It is a dangerous spell that no one can tell if someone is being brainwashed until one will notice their odd behaviors as they obey the casters and bend them to their will. One might be afraid of this skill, but it is not absolute. As stated before, someone who has a strong mentality will resist mental attacks easily and that includes brainwashing so if a brainwashing magic is being cast on them, they will resist it or if it is the weaker kind, they will just completely ignore it.

As for Elaina, it seems that she has a very high mental resistance to the point that a spell that almost warped the mind of an entire kingdom was resisted by Elaina with ease. Which is why she was able to keep her sanity even when the mind-warping spell had already enveloped the kingdom.

Elaina sighed. She was not even surprised to hear this. She knew her sister that this thing was not even something surprising. Based on the information, Elaina can tell that this news is correct and it is only a matter of time before the two kingdoms will clash.

"Let me guess, she allied with the Elders’ Council and Alfred had no idea about this until he discovered it, yes?" Elaina guessed.

She shook her head. "I know Alfred like the back of my hand. This guy might be the emperor but he is too soft and prefers peace. He might have cheated on me, but I can tell that he is not the bad guy this time around and I will not sugarcoat it that Alfred is too innocent to even plan this kind of thing. And considering that the only person who can technically replace me or Alfred is none other than Selena herself, I don’t doubt that thing is correct information."

"You already anticipate it?" Rakkan was astonished.

"Not really. I am just expecting it to happen sooner or later and if that happens, I also predicted that if she plans to do something related to war, she will propose to invade Darcero Kingdom first considering that I am here. Just didn’t expect that the plan is already going underway."

Yona and Julia were soon finished with their job with the former holding a ball of dark energy in her hand.

For her, even if he was brainwashed, it is still not a justified action of his to cheat on her. After all, even though the religion itself brainwashed him, he was not brainwashed to cheat on her which means it was his full control that he did cheat on her.

It is like the memory crystal and recording crystals that record stuff inside them like pictures and videos however, unlike them where you can view and store them to view again for later reasons, this one is temporary. Once used, the copy will dissipate and will not be usable again unless they extract another one."

Elaina scratches her head. She has ideas related to magic but things like this would make her totally confused. Guess that is the reason why she can’t even use magic in the first place.

"I will be using it now. Please watch carefully."

Adelaide clings to Elaina’s shirt so that she can see the thing carefully. Elaina held Adelaide on her side as they waited for Julia to release the spell.

The bottle is opened and a puff of smoke is released inside. Even though there wasn’t even smoke inside when it was sealed, when the cap was removed, it puffed out and soon stayed in the air for a bit. It didn’t take long for a scene to slowly appear in the smoke. It slowly gets clear and soon enough, the memory appeared before them. The voices are also replicated as well.

Based on the memory, it is from the point of view of Alfred, and right now, he is talking with a few people that Elaina recognized. She hasn’t seen them much but she does remember them since they are the people who were always present on religious rallies and a mass, acting as priests. Based on their clothes, it seems that they are not yet priests, and with the bags on their backs, it seems the memory was something that happened before the church was established in the kingdom which means it happened after their wedding.

The memory begins and it seems it started during the middle of the conversation as it seems that it started already when they are already in the middle of an argument.

I can’t agree with your proposition of making your religion the central one."

The priest chuckled and stood up from his previous posture of kneeling and looked at Alfred with a crazy expression.

"I am not asking, Emperor Alfred. I am ordering you. In the name of the Pope and the God of our church, Tanolichkaz."
