"The incense breaking is a bad omen? A person who brings bad luck?" Seth Quinn repeated softly, then let out a low chuckle. "Is that so?"
Although his voice was mild and his face held a smile, he somehow exuded an extremely dangerous aura.
Everyone was scared into silence, especially the women who had been gossiping so animatedly just moments before. Terrified, they all lowered their heads, hardly daring to breathe.
Faye Jennings couldn’t stand seeing Seth Quinn treat Clara Grant so well. She took a step toward him and said with a dazzling smile, "President Quinn, everyone was probably just joking earlier. No one really thinks that way in their hearts."
"Joking?" Seth Quinn shot Faye Jennings a sidelong glance, his voice still mild, betraying no emotion.
He said only that single word, then fell silent, leaving Faye Jennings feeling incredibly awkward.

Clara felt deflated. ’How could I have forgotten? We just had a falling-out yesterday. He’s probably still angry. With his vengeful personality, why would he listen to me?’
’Besides, he’s not the one making enemies. He’s not the one whose life will be made difficult.’
’I’m just a tool for his pleasure. Whether things go well or poorly for me, whether I live or die, what is it to him?’
At this thought, Clara felt a pang of disappointment. She subconsciously bit her lip and lowered her gaze.
Her unconscious gesture, however, made Seth Quinn recall the moment yesterday when he had almost succeeded in taking her, and his eyes tightened involuntarily.
He cursed inwardly. ’Damn it! No matter when or where, she always managed to stir something in him so easily.’
He had ignored her hint a moment ago only because he wanted to apply more pressure and issue a stronger warning to those who had dared to provoke her.
But now, seeing her crestfallen expression, he found he couldn’t bear it. He especially didn’t want her to think he was disregarding her feelings.
So, he swept his gaze over the crowd and parted his lips to speak. "If they were just jokes, then no harm done. I trust that no one on our production team is so feudal and backward-minded. However, if I discover that’s not the case, believe me when I say I will consider making replacements.
"Furthermore, I expect everyone who comes to the set to focus on filming. Put your energy into your work, and stop trying to stir up trouble!"
Hearing his words, the crestfallen Clara Grant instantly let out a sigh of relief.
