A New Life In The Beast World-Chapter 132: Jealous?
The next morning, Serena took Kiro to the village center. It had been a while since she’d gone there, but after dealing with Liz yesterday, she decided not to push her luck. That stupid system was bound to nag her about working too much.
Granted, she could understand where Liz was coming from...
But she couldn’t help but push herself. A little voice in her head kept telling her it was not enough, that she was still weak, something bad was going to happen and she’d be too weak to stop it.
A voice that had been with her forever. The reason she got to where she was in her home world. Because she kept pushing herself, never stopping for a second.
And now she was stuck here because she’d been too blind.
"Sister, is something the matter?" Kiro asked as they walked to the village center, catching Serena’s self-loathing. "You don’t seem happy..."
Serena gave him a faint smile. "What are you talking about? I’m happy right now..."
Kiro pursed his lips, looking like he wanted to argue. But before he could, Serena added, "I’m just nervous about seeing everyone. After all, I haven’t been around for some time."
It would no doubt be awkward for her to be hanging around the rabbit beastwomen. She hadn’t been around for some time now and they probably thought she was brushing them off.
Granted, she wasn’t keen on the whole friendship thing, but she did want to keep a decent relationship with them. For Kiro’s sake and so she’d get insight into their knowledge.
Selfish reasons, she knew, but she made a promise to herself to pay them for their help. Otherwise, she’d start feeling guilty for using them.
Stupid Liz trying to make her a good person by making her deal with her feelings...
When they got to the village center, Kiro let go of Serena’s hand to run off to greet his friends. She let him go, awkwardly walking over to the oak tree. Under the bare tree sat five familiar faces.
Upon seeing Serena heading over to them, Wilma jumped up and ran over to her. The rabbit beastwoman engulfed the snow leopard beastwoman into a hug.
"Serena! I’m glad you’re joining us!" Wilma exclaimed. "We missed you all so much! Are you finally done with your cold season preparations?"
Serena clenched her fists tightly at her sides, it taking every bit of self-control and willpower to not attack Wilma when the rabbit beastwoman suddenly flung herself on her.
"Ah... yes. It’s mostly done..." Serena finally huffed out, moving her hand to awkwardly pat the rabbit beastwoman on the back.
Hopefully, Wilma wouldn’t realize that Serena didn’t know how to receive hugs.
"I’m glad you’re finished with your preparations. We were worried you weren’t going to have everything done before then..." Wilma stated, pulling back and allowing Serena to take a breath of relief. "We have to get you more males to help out."
"No thanks." Serena said immediately. "I’m not interested in any males right now."
Wilma pouted, but grabbed her arm and stated, "Fine have it your way, but come sit with us. We have lots to catch up on... Also can I keep holding onto you?"
"Why?" Serena asked in confusion as they made their way to the others.
"Because you’re so warm." Wilma sighed happily, snuggling closer to her arm. "It’s like being near a fire... Honestly if you were a beastman, I would’ve proposed to you by now."
Serena coughed at those words, this rabbit beastwoman really having no shame. She wasn’t sure how to take these words exactly. Still, she let Wilma hang onto her arm, hoping this wouldn’t make her mates upset.

"What are you doing?" Theo asked as he gazed down at Serena.
The snow leopard beastwoman was sitting under the village center’s oak tree, surrounded by rabbit beastwomen snuggling up to her. He’d been heading back to the hut when he spotted this outrageous scene.
Just what were they doing exactly?!
"We’re enjoying your mate’s warmth." Wilma answered before Serena could say a word. She then taunted, "Why? Are you jealous?"
"Not in the slightest." Theo answered immediately.
He was lying though his teeth, surprised Serena would let others so close to her. She always seemed to hate others touching her, but perhaps he was wrong.
Her problem was him touching her...
He had to admit he felt a little hurt that he could never get this close to Serena, but that was the nature of their agreement after all. Nothing personal..
How he wished he could beat up his foolish past self.
"Stop causing trouble, Wilma." Serena sighed, glancing over at the rabbit beastwoman clinging to her arm.
"Hmph! I’m just making sure Theo isn’t one of those possessive males." Wilma retorted. "Those are the worst... Not knowing how to share..."
"You’re acting like a possessive male..." Emma stated deadpanned, shaking her head at the shameless beastwoman.
Wilma sent Emma a glare as Serena turned back to Theo. "Are you done for the day?"
"Yes. I’m going to go make lunch now." Theo answered.
"Let me come help then." Serena said, happy to have an excuse to get out of this pile of beastwomen.
She wasn’t even sure how she managed to let Wilma make her agree to this. One minute she was sitting just fine and the next she got stuck with three rabbit beastwoman on her.
"Don’t go..." Wilma cried out. "You don’t need to help with food. If a male can’t cook, then what use is he?"
Theo felt his right eye twitch in annoyance, taking a deep breath as he muttered, "I can cook just fine."
He could take care of Serena just fine and didn’t need these beastwomen questioning his skills. Because then who knows what crazy ideas they would put into Serena’s head.
Perhaps make her find proper mates, leaving him in the dust...
Thankfully, Serena wasn’t listening and soon left the group of strange beastwomen, calling out for Kiro before they headed back to the hut.
