Chapter 172: SHE FELT ALMOST NORMAL

[Yes, I did.]

Khaos replied through mindlink. He watched the shock on Zuri’s face, indicating that she heard it.

"I have a lot of voices screaming in my head. I don’t need you too," Zuri growled at him.

However, Khaos could feel her fascination behind her anger. They were tied together now and the mate bond would only grow stronger, which only complicated their feeling and the aftermath of it.

Yet, Khaos quite enjoyed this complication in his plan. Certainly, something had to change.

"I am not screaming at you." Khaos pointed it out. He moved closer to Zuri and was glad to see the anger in her eyes, because it was way better than the desperation and devastation look on her when he found her that day.

He would take her anger anytime.

"You don’t need to be in my head. I don’t need an extra voice in my head," Zuri growled viciously at Khaos. If it was not for the attachment she felt for him and now he sealed them into this mate bond, she would have killed him. "You sealed us together."

"I remembered there was time when you asked me to mark you," Khaos reminded her, he then pulled her toward him, at first, Zuri struggled to free herself, but when he caressed her back, she hated to admit it that she liked it, especially when he kissed her neck, the spot where the pain from his mark was.

His lips soothed the pain and she stayed still, realizing one more thing; her mind was clearer than the last few months. She didn’t hear the voices in her head.

[Then all you need to do from now on is to listen only to my voice.] Khaos mindlinked her again.

"I will get bored very soon if I only listened to your voice," Zuri grumbled, but she lifted her head to give Khaos an access to kiss her neck out of instinct. His touch alleviated her pain.

[I doubt you will get bored of me very quick. I am quite a charm.]

Zuri bristled when she heard that, but he was right. "Just because I let you to touch me and kiss me, it doesn’t mean I am no longer angry."

"I know. Be angry for as long as you wanted," Khaos replied simply.

For a moment, they stayed like that, relishing each other company.

"What happened?"

And Khaos spent an hour to tell her in detail about what happened. It had been two weeks, since the last time she was in the pack.

He looked for her. He stopped them from hurting her and he killed Elijah. Great. Zuri liked that part. She asked him in detail how he killed him, relishing it in her mind and Khaos could see it through the mate bond.

Yet, he still didn’t call her crazy for taking pleasure from such grueling image. That was the time when Zuri’s mind was the clearest.

She felt almost... normal.

After what Leonard witnessed between Nycta and Killian, he confined the queen in her quarter and sent Killian to the cell. It was a treason. Even though, Leonard knew what actually happened.

Yet, the king was not here and it was not his order to sleep with the queen. She was already pregnant, there was no need for it anymore.

Needless to say, the two of them cheated on the king. They were fooling around behind the king’s back and had the audacity to do it in his study room.

Someone else could walk on them. Nycta and Killian were being stupid and bold.

This was a delicate matter and right now, Dacre was tending to a problem in River Creek pack. He was not sure how to deliver this message, but in the end, a week later Leonard wrote to him. Therefore, the news about it was rather delayed.

"Why did you do that, Killian? You ruined yourself." Leonard stepped into Killian’s cell. He was chained to the wall with silver, rendered him unable to shift or break free. "You shouldn’t have done that and you will live peacefully."

Killian refused to answer Leonard, he refused to talk a word to the royal beta.

"You know that you killed yourself the moment you touched the queen."

Finally, Killian regarded Leonard with a nasty look. "I want him for myself. I compromised the queen, but right now he is with another woman."

Leonard shook his head. "Do you think the king is with princess Rose?" Killian didn’t answer this question, but he knew that was what he was thinking. "You are so stupid. The king will not touch the princess. If after all these years you were with him, you think so, you don’t know him at all."

"Maybe I really don’t know him at all," Killian replied dismissively.

They managed to put four more curses on her, which meant, there was only one left before the completion of the beauty blood.

Khaos arrived in time when Elijah was about to inflict the last curse. Bryden was still a little bit off about that. If they reached them a little bit late, Elijah and his magic users would have completed it and they could harvest the beauty blood from Zuri.

It was a pity, they turned up at the critical moment. Only if they were a little bit late...

"We have not yet heard any report from the palace. The last report came almost a month ago." Bryden walked beside Khaos, as they followed the long line of people, who were going into the Great Lunar kingdom.

In front of them, standing tall Great Walls of the kingdom. The wall was in the color of white and there were many warriors, who checked all the people, who wanted to past the gates.

"Do you think something happened to him?"

Khaos didn’t answer him immediately. "Send someone to check on what happened in the palace." He knew something like this might happen and he had pushed his luck with ’him’.
