A Low Rank Female Goes Viral Across the Galaxy-Chapter 231: Three Levels
When they arrived at the competition venue on the East Coast, they first got in line to register.
Then, they waited for the competition to begin.
While they waited, Jiang Qin and Yun Xie started playing on the beach, and Ni Jia, not to be outdone, joined them.
"Yun Xie, look at this Flood Dragon I made. Doesn’t it look like you?"
Yun Xie hesitated. "...It does!"
’I never understood why some males seem to go blind after getting married, but now, I get it.’
Seeing Yun Xie lie with such a straight face, Ni Jia had an epiphany.
’As expected of the man who managed to marry Miss Jiang. He’s really got a few tricks up his sleeve.’
So he started piling up sand as well. From its outline, it was clearly a rabbit.
’To be honest, he’d been frightened by his own thoughts the other day. He had planned to stay away from Jiang Qin, but after comparing her to other females, he still felt she was the best.’
’Worst case... I won’t split my assets 50/50 with Jiang Qin. A 70/30 split in her favor would be fine.’
’This was the absolute limit of his favoritism!’
’The thought of keeping thirty percent as my own little nest egg... it’s not entirely unacceptable.’
So, his enthusiasm for Jiang Qin flared up once more. The look in his eyes was so intense, it would have been like a flashlight beam in the dark.
The three of them childishly built a pile of sand animals.
There was a Flood Dragon that looked suspiciously like an earthworm, a bear made from two spheres, a cat that looked like nothing on earth, and some unknown winged lion.
There were also as many as a hundred rabbits of different shapes.
Ni Jia finished another rabbit, this one holding flowers in its paws, and shot Yun Xie a smug smile.
His gaze seemed to say, ’Hah! When it comes to making rabbits, I’m the best!’
Meanwhile, Yun Xie, an Inhibitor dangling from his lips, casually continued making rabbits as if he wasn’t paying Ni Jia any mind at all.
But judging by the dozens of rabbits he’d churned out in one breath, his heart was anything but calm.
Jiang Qin had stopped building sandcastles and was now sitting to the side, smiling as she watched their childish competition.
Passersby kindly detoured around the rabbits, afraid to affect the outcome of the contest.
A female carrying a young child walked by and teased Jiang Qin, "Honey, your men get along so well."
"That’s not..."
But the woman was already walking away, having said her piece without stopping.
Jiang Qin thought for a moment. ’Forget it. If I chase after her to explain, it’ll just make it look like I’m desperate to distance myself from Ni Jia.’
’That would be incredibly awkward for him.’
’Besides, it’s just a misunderstanding from a random stranger.’

Finally, the competition was about to begin.
The organizers called for the contestants to get ready at the starting line.
Seeing the sand still clinging to her and Ni Jia, Ji Susu couldn’t help but sneer, "Ni Jia, you’re really sinking lower and lower."
"Yeah, I’m sinking low. So what? What’s it to you?"
"Hah. I hope you can keep up this tough act when Aunt Ni finds out you’re messing around with some low-class female from the Federation."
Ni Jia couldn’t be bothered to respond to her.
’Does she really think I care about the Ni family? I can’t wait to get away from them.’
’I earned back the money the Ni family spent raising me long ago. Now, they just pay me a meager salary and use blood ties as an excuse to exploit me.’
’Maybe I didn’t get it before, but I’ve been an adult for so long, and my family has never once mentioned finding a partner for me. Now I understand.’
’They think I’m useful, so they want to keep me in the Ni family as their workhorse forever.’
’That’s why I came on this dating show—to find a partner as quickly as possible.’
’If I can pledge myself to a female on the live broadcast, then not even my mother can stop me from getting married.’
’If she tried to stop it, I’d be accused of deceiving a female and toying with her emotions.’
’My mother wouldn’t care if I went to jail, of course, but she’s terrified of me damaging the Ni family’s reputation.’
’So, I have to succeed this time. Otherwise, it’ll be even harder to escape the Ni family’s control.’
At this thought, his eyes darted toward Jiang Qin again.
But Jiang Qin wasn’t looking at him. She was curiously surveying the event course and the other contestants.
The host read from a script with great enthusiasm before finally explaining the competition:
"Our competition is a test of the bond between two people, so all the following stages will require both of you to work together to pass.
First stage: the three-legged race.
Teammates will have one person’s left leg and the other’s right leg tied together. You must then make your way through an obstacle course.
You’ll have to run in sync and clear the obstacles together to reach the second stage!"
In the second stage, one teammate will act out prompts for the other to guess.
The third stage is puzzle-solving.
You’ll be in two separate escape rooms, and you’ll have to figure out which items in your room your teammate needs, then pass them through a small window.
The competition ends after the third stage.
And now, it was time for the first stage!
As Jiang Qin’s fair, cool-looking leg drew near to his, Ni Jia felt his face start to burn.
Even though he was wearing long pants and their skin didn’t touch, he still felt his own leg go a little stiff.
"Uh... um, Miss Jiang Qin, if we’re not worried about our ranking, maybe we should... just walk slowly?"
’He was terrified. Her legs were so slender. What if they weren’t in sync and he caused her to get hurt!’
Jiang Qin didn’t feel like trying hard either, mainly because she saw no reason to, so she agreed.
"Okay. Let’s just take it slow. Safety first."
"Right."
While everyone else started, two people remained at the starting line, unmoving.
One was Natalie, her face a mask of anger and disgust. The other was an expressionless Yuan Ling.
Natalie was arguing with a staff member. She absolutely refused to have her leg tied to Yuan Ling’s.
She was trying to get permission to compete alone.
This was completely unreasonable. The event was explicitly a two-person competition; letting someone compete alone would obviously be unfair to everyone else.
But Natalie wouldn’t have it. She refused to have any contact with Yuan Ling, but she also refused to withdraw from the race.
This left the event organizers in a difficult position.
’They were just the organizers for some small attraction’s competition, after all. As an S-level female, couldn’t she afford to give them a hard time?’
In truth, Natalie was furious. The staff member was being incredibly stubborn and wasn’t showing her any deference at all.
The staff member was miserable. ’I don’t want to offend a female, but I have no authority to change the rules.’
Meanwhile, the person who *did* have the authority to change the rules had just sent him a message via Light Computer, telling him to handle the situation.
The message also stated, in no uncertain terms, that the rules could not be changed.
They were hosting a two-person competition. If they allowed a single person to compete, what about all the other contestants?
The person in charge was well aware of the difference between offending one person and offending hundreds—or even gaining a terrible reputation.
So, he was determined to stay hidden in the back, not giving Natalie the chance to confront him face-to-face.
