Necromancer: I Am A Disaster-Chapter 673: Their True Target Is Me
Antares had always held impossibly high standards. In his eyes, the so-called geniuses and prodigies of the human race were worth less than nothing.
In 1,000 years, this was the first time the word genius had ever left hismouth.
Even Antares couldn’t help but admire Lin Moyu’s terrifying comprehension.
In barely a day, Lin Moyu had not only mastered the basic applications of the Soul Splitting Art but had also formed his own understanding of law.
Antares’s perception was flawless. An extremely faint law aura was emanating from Lin Moyu’s soul-form.
The law of life…
Antares could sense it clearly. Though weak, it was undeniably law.
Despite being only level 76 with a level 92 soul rank, Lin Moyu had forcibly grasped law.
Such a feat had never occurred in this world.
“Wake up!”
Antares released a thunderous roar, yanking Lin Moyu’s consciousness back to reality as he withdrew from his soul world.
Lin Moyu opened his eyes to see Antares staring down at him with massive eyes.
He wasn’t upset by the interruption. Antares wouldn’t act without reason.
“What happened?”
Antares responded, “The Abyssal Demons and the Dragonkind have joined forces. They’ve begun attacking the human race.”
Lin Moyu’s expression darkened, “How large is the scale?”
Antares nodded, “Very large. That said, the Shenxia Empire is protected by the Eternal Great Wall, so it should hold for now. That isn’t the real issue.”
Lin Moyu’s thoughts immediately went to the worst possibility, “Did the Demon Emperor and the Dragon Emperor make a move?”
Antares shook his head, “Not yet.”
Lin Moyu exhaled in relief. However, the feeling vanished almost instantly.
“My teachers? Are they in danger?”
A low hum of confirmation came from Antares, “All three of your teachers have entered the Abyssal World.”
Lin Moyu’s face drained of color. Without hesitation, his hand reached for the Abyssal Teleportation Stone.
The Abyss was no ordinary place, with entry and exit tightly restricted.
Meng Anwen and the others didn’t possess Abyssal Teleportation Stones. Even though the Shenxia Tower possessed teleportation abilities, they were greatly restricted within the Abyss.
Worse still, the Abyss teemed with Demons. High-level Demons might be rare, but there were more than enough to threaten Meng Anwen’s group.
Antares snapped, “Don’t be reckless! They’re safe for now. And rushing in won’t help you. Can you stop the Demon Emperor?”
“Even setting him aside, do you think you can survive against the high-level Demons in the Abyss?”
“Calm down and think.”
Antares’s harsh words forced Lin Moyu to steady himself.
Once his emotions settled, a question surfaced, “Why did my teachers enter the Abyss in the first place?”
Antares replied, “It’s connected to the Light God’s Palace. The palace appeared at an Abyssal Gate on the Dimensional Battlefield. The Demon Emperor personally intervened and dragged it into the Abyss.”
Lin Moyu froze as his thoughts raced.
In ancient history, the Light God had once saved humanity from catastrophe, paying a tremendous price.
Because of that, humanity had always considered the Light God a true friend.
Yet the Light God’s Palace had vanished, its whereabouts unknown.
Like the Water God and the Fire God, the Light God had once stood among humanity’s greatest allies.
While at the Starlight Ocean in the lower layer, Lin Moyu had even suspected that the Light God might be slumbering at the bottom of the sea.
But he’d never had the chance to confirm it.
Now the Light God’s Palace had appeared.
Meng Anwen and the others would never ignore such a development, their investigation inevitably leading them into the Abyss.
Everything clicked.
A cold killing intent flashed through Lin Moyu’s eyes, “Whether the Light God’s Palace is real or fake doesn’t matter. One thing is certain: it’s bait.”
“My teachers are bait too. The Demon Emperor’s real target is me.”
“He wants to lure me into the Abyss so he can kill me personally. And yet… I can’t ignore it.”
“This is an open scheme. A trap I’m forced to walk into even though I see it clearly.”
Both the Demon Emperor and the Dragon Emperor wanted him dead.
Dangling the Light God Palace was nothing more than the Demon Emperor’s method of drawing him out.
Lin Moyu was cornered.
If he delayed too long, Meng Anwen, Bai Yiyuan, and Yan Kuangsheng would inevitably be in danger.
Once the Demon Emperor confirmed that Lin Moyu wasn’t coming, he would take action himself and slaughter them.
Even though the three were level 96 high-tier Gods capable of wielding law, killing them would still be effortless for the Demon Emperor.
But if Lin Moyu went… the Demon Emperor would strike without hesitation.
Antares asked, “Is this dilemma really that difficult for you?”
Lin Moyu shook his head, “It isn’t a dilemma. Even if I know I’m walking toward death, I still have to go.”
Antares spoke slowly, “There is an agreement among the three races: half-step God-level powerhouses are forbidden from entering enemy territory. That’s why the Demon Emperor and the Dragon Emperor cannot step into the Human World.”
“But once humans enter their territory, they’re free to act.”
“If you go, death is almost guaranteed.”
Lin Moyu nodded calmly, “I know. Going is a given. What I’m thinking about… is how I can come back alive.”
Lin Moyu pondered for a long time without finding a single viable solution.
Even if he unleashed every trump card he had and detonated the corpse of the Poison God, he still didn’t believe it would pose any real threat to the Demon Emperor.
Though he had never personally witnessed the might of a half-step Transcendent God-level powerhouse, he could easily imagine it.
High-tier God-level powerhouses merely wielded law. Half-step Transcendent God-level powerhouses had begun to control law.
Though both made use of law, wielding and controlling existed on entirely different planes.
Amid his predicament, Lin Moyu caught the faint, knowing smirk in Antares’ eyes. Antares definitely had a solution.
More importantly, his earlier tone had been far too calm.
Panic had clouded his judgment. There had to be something he’d overlooked.
“Do you have a way?” Lin Moyu asked.
Antares shook his massive head, denying it outright, “What could I do? If someone as smart as you can’t figure it out, how could I?”
That single sentence confirmed it. Antares had a solution, and it was one Lin Moyu himself could carry out, if only he thought of it.
“Fine. If you won’t tell me, I’ll figure it out myself.”
Lin Moyu was now certain that Meng Anwen and the others weren’t in immediate danger.
The Demon Emperor would wait, wait for him.
He forced himself to calm down and examined every possibility. Any method capable of dealing with the Demon Emperor would be extraordinary.
One by one, he ruled them out until the answer surfaced.
His eyes lit up, “I’ve got it. Send me to the lower layer.”
Antares snorted, “Based on what? You think I’ll send you just because you said so?”
Lin Moyu shot him a glare, “Are you sending me or not?”
Big eyes met small eyes. Neither backed down.
With the Eternal Great Wall already activated, even if he returned to the Human World, it would be troublesome to reach the lower layer.
Having Antares send him directly was the best option.
After a brief staring contest, Antares relented, “Fine, fine. I’ll send you. I’ve never seen someone so shameless.”
Lin Moyu chuckled, “I’ll thank you later.”
Antares warned, “I’ll say this first: merging with the Thunderclap Tower won’t be easy. Be careful.”
“I know.”
