A Journey That Changed The World.-Chapter 1239: Keep Moving
Archer was relaxing in his carriage while Ari massaged his shoulders, which caused him to fall into a relaxed state. That’s when he noticed one of the Fire Elves were remaining as the Broodmaw leader toyed with the man. Your next chapter awaits on novelbuddy
’Bring him here,’ he commanded.
The creature listen and started traveling in his direction, only to appear from the treeline in the distance. Archer stood up, which surprised the white-haired woman who spoke. ’’What’s wrong, handsome?’’
’’Come with me,’’ he replied before stepping out of the carriage.
Once the two of them were outside, the marching column came to a halt as Sera and Elara appeared. The dragon woman commented with a confused expression, ’’Why are we stopping?’’
’’My monsters ambushed a group of Duskfire warriors and the leader is on his way here now,’’ Archer said just as the massive Broodmaw appeared out of nowhere.
Elara let out a yelp while Sera got ready to fight, but he quickly reassured them, ’’They are my soldiers’ girls. Calm down, they wouldn’t dream of hurting any of you.’’
When the giant monster heard this, it lowered its head to the two women before holding out a bloodied man who was missing limbs and was letting out quiet whimpered as his jaw was completely gone.
Archer looked at the Broodmaw and asked, ’’Did you eat him on the way here?’’
’Yes master,’ it replied in an innocent tone. ’I was hungry.’
He chuckled before grabbing the fire elf by the neck and cast Soul Eater on the man who started screaming as Archer saw all the memories he needed to. Moments later, he throws the enemy commander to the monster.
’’Go on, eat him,’’ he said with an amused smile. ’’I know you like your prey alive.’’
Following that, the Broodmaw leader and other monsters started feasting on the Fire Elf’s, who were letting out screams that echoed across the landscapes only to scare a flock of birds.
After that, Sera’s voice rang out while she was retching. ’’That’s nasty. Why don’t these nightmares just kill the elves?’’
Archer shrugged before explaining, ’’Let them suffer. They butchered over a million of my soldiers and deserve nothing less.’’
’’Grant them no mercy because they wouldn’t do it for us,’’ Ari suddenly spoke up as Elara agreed with the older woman.
Sera sighed as she calmed down. ’’You guys are right. I will make sure any soldiers I capture will be fed to Vivienne’s ants.’’
Archer laughed before the column continued on as they entered the woods where screams echoed out. The legions got worried, but the girls reassured them that the monsters were clearing out the Duskfire forces.
Following that, he traveled behind Sera’s 16th Legion as they marched through the woodlands, with only the sound of footsteps and the rustle of leaves beneath the boots of the soldiers.
The scent of pine and damp earth, as trees towered over them, their thick canopies casting long shadows across the road they were on. Legionnaires, Drakeguards, and Dragonblood Knights moved in tight formation.

Archer was happy as the mood of the soldiers was calm until the first distant cry pierced the air, a sharp, unnatural shriek that echoed from deep within the woods. When he heard this, he used Aura Detector to scan the surrounding landscape.
Moments later, he saw a swarm of Blightborns was charging straight for the right side of the column. When Archer saw this, he reacted by summoning hordes of Venonwings, Chull Warriors and Nightmare Ants to intercept the enemies.
Violet portals opened, and a wave of monsters poured out, shocking the surrounding soldiers. Venomwings took to the canopy and sliced through the branches, creating corridors for the ones behind.
Nightmare Ants rushed out and crashed into the Blightborns and started ripping them apart with their steel-like mandibles. While this was happening, the Chulls guarded the column that stopped as the soldiers formed a shieldwall.
Archer chuckled, sensing the situation was already under control. The swarms of monstrous creatures surged forward, but they were no match for the massive lobster-like beasts that had joined the fight.
With terrifying strength, the creatures crushed the attackers beneath their armored claws. Blood splattered across the battlefield, painting the ground in a grotesque tapestry as the monsters were torn apart.
Moments later, the Broodmaws entered the fray, their massive bodies charging through the chaos. They tore through the remaining enemy forces, their razor-sharp talons slashing and mauling anything in their path.
Within ten minutes, the battle was over. The enemy monsters lay in pieces across the field, while the losses on Archer’s side were minimal. His forces had suffered little, and the swarming horrors were nothing more than food.
The legions pressed on as they entered the dense forest after Archer sent them back to the Domain. A while later, the smell of decay hung thick in the air, a grim reminder of the fate that had befallen the 17th and 18th legions. Their bodies littered the forest floor.
’’Keep moving,’’ he ordered, his voice cutting through the murmur. ’’We’ll collect the bodies after we take the west.’’
As they continued advancing, he found himself on top of the carriage, watching the troops below. Hours later, they were traveling through a swamp and the Broodmaws and Voidworms went to work.
The monster army attacked any creatures they were praying on the legion, but didn’t stand a chance. Archer or the women didn’t have to get involved and by the time the column reached solid ground, it was nighttime.
Elara ordered them to construct a massive fort where they would stay for days until the scouts could create maps of the West Duskfire. Hours later, the carriages were parked up as the 1st, 2nd and 10th legions were building the fortress.
The 13th, 15th and 16th were on guard while protecting the area. Archer was sitting by the fire with Sia, who didn’t look right. He placed his hand on her back before casting Aurora Healing on the dragonkin woman.
’’I’m fine,’’ she said with a sweet smile. ’’Just tired and have been on the saddle all day.’’
Without hesitation, Archer opened a portal to her bedroom in the Domain, his voice soothing as he spoke with a voice laced with care, ’’Go get some rest, beautiful. I’ll have Elara take over command of the 10th.’’
Afterward, he gently removed her armor, the heavy pieces clattering to the floor, and ensured she was comfortable. He tucked her into bed, checking that she was settled and at ease, before quietly returning to the real world.
Once he appeared in the middle of the massive fortress, the legions were building all around him. While sitting there, he started thinking to himself, ’I’ll leave ten thousand soldiers to guard it until another army gets here.’
Eventually he started watching all the building popping up around him once the massive twenty meter wall that encircled the encampment. Archer was proud of seeing the soldiers working hard.
Drakeguards rushed about hauling wood and stone to the builders while the foreman shouted orders. While sitting there, Ari reappeared with a big smile. ’’Seems like the soldiers are excited.’’
Archer nodded before revealing, ’’Yes. Sia’s scouts found dozens of towns, cities and castles between here and the Moonriver Empire’s borders.’’
’’I assume you will build fortresses at the northern passes? The Alliance could send reinforcements from that direction.’’
’’That’s the plan. Elara is helping me go over them in our spare time, but we will lock down this part of the Duskfire Empire and show the people that we’re not the evil kingdom they think we are,’’ he answered before pulling out some meat.
Archer started eating while Ari looked at him with a smile before commenting, ’’The Fireheart Priests will spread the word. I’m ready to bring two hundred here to convert the local elves.’’
He turned to the stunning, mature woman, and without warning, pressed his lips to hers. She froze for a moment, but her hesitation quickly melted away as she responded with a passionate kiss of her own.
Following that, the two of them separated just as a group of Legionnaires rushed by as Elara suddenly appeared. The redhead looked concerned as she revealed, ’’An enemy army is approaching husband.’’
Archer stood and followed Elara, with Ari falling in step beside him. Together, the three ascended the wall’s stairs, only to be met with the chaotic sight of Dragonfire Company soldiers hurrying about, their hands laden with mana shells as they prepared for battle.
He witnessed a Duskfire army further west, but then small dust clouds billowed behind a dozen skirmishers. When Elara saw this, she spoke, ’’Those are the scouts from the 10th. Fast and skilled riders.’’
’’Why aren’t the elves chasing them?’’ Archer questioned causing the three women to focus on the scene.
That’s when Ari pointed in the distance, ’’They are, but the enemy is too far away.’’
