Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Beanie Bumps into Jasper Ford

In the end, Vivian Quincy chose to apologize. She couldn’t afford the five-million termination fee, so she couldn’t just turn around and leave.

Wanda Quincy was overjoyed by this. She tried to take Jasper Ford’s hand, but he subtly avoided her. Wanda wasn’t angry; she gleefully followed Jasper Ford into the CEO’s office.

After the door closed, the people in the secretarial department quietly raised their heads, giving Vivian Quincy a thoughtful glance. The head secretary even came over specifically to remind Vivian Quincy to stay far away from Wanda Quincy in the future.

Vivian Quincy nodded without another word, but inwardly she couldn’t help but curse, ’What a shameless pair!’

She sullenly organized the documents. To make matters worse, Jasper Ford had actually assigned her the workload of three people. As a result, everyone else in the secretarial department had left, but she still had to work overtime.

Her phone kept ringing nonstop. All the calls were from Hayden Kaye. Not wanting to answer, Vivian Quincy simply blacklisted his number. Just as she noticed her phone was about to die and pulled out a charger to plug it in, a call from Beanie Quincy came through.

"Mommy, are you still working overtime tonight?" his soft, sweet voice asked, full of confusion.

Vivian Quincy just then remembered she had promised to pick up Beanie. She apologized guiltily, "I’m sorry, sweetie. I probably can’t leave right now."

"Then what time do you get off work, Mommy?" the little guy asked curiously.

Vivian Quincy glanced at the pile of documents she still hadn’t finished. "Around eight, I think. I’ll come get you at eight. Be good and wait quietly for me, okay?"

"Okay, love you, Mommy." Beanie’s obedient voice was incredibly sweet. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Vivian Quincy, who had been suppressing her feelings all day, felt her heart melt. Suddenly, all her grievances seemed insignificant compared to Beanie. As long as she had Beanie, she was still the happiest person in the world.

Vivian Quincy smiled sweetly. "I love you, too."

After hanging up, still basking in the sweetness of the call, Vivian Quincy turned around and saw Jasper Ford standing right behind her. She jumped in fright. "When did you get here?"

Not a trace of emotion showed on Jasper Ford’s cold, resolute face. "Come with me," he said.

"Me?" Vivian Quincy couldn’t help but glance at Wanda Quincy behind Jasper Ford. "What about her?"

"That’s not your concern." Jasper Ford reminded her to grab the documents, then turned to leave to get his car keys.

Vivian Quincy had no choice but to hurry after him. As she passed Wanda Quincy, Wanda suddenly lowered her voice. "You’d better not have any improper ideas about my man, or I’ll make you regret it!"

Vivian Quincy hadn’t wanted to bother with her, but she also didn’t want Wanda Quincy to be too smug. Seizing the moment while Jasper Ford was out of earshot, she smiled and said, "Haven’t you ever heard that proximity gives one an advantage?"

"What are you trying to do?" Wanda Quincy’s expression changed drastically.

"What do you think?"

Vivian Quincy didn’t answer directly, but Wanda Quincy was already losing her mind, cursing, "You little bitch."

Vivian Quincy lowered her head, clutching the files without a word.

Wanda Quincy wondered why Vivian Quincy had suddenly turned so meek. She turned to look and realized Jasper Ford had already come out with his keys. He must have heard what she just said. ’That scheming bitch, Vivian Quincy! How dare she set a trap for me!’

Wanda Quincy was furious. She chased after Jasper Ford to explain, but not only did he ignore her, he shot her a cold glance that made Wanda Quincy quickly shut her mouth. She stood rooted to the spot, resentfully watching the silhouettes of Vivian Quincy and Jasper Ford leaving together.

"President Ford, where are we going?" Vivian Quincy felt a small sense of triumph.

"To meet someone." Jasper Ford tossed the keys to Vivian Quincy. "You drive."

"Me?" Vivian Quincy was stunned.

Jasper Ford was displeased. "Should it be me?"

"Oh~" She clumsily got into the driver’s seat and asked, "Where to?"

"Drexel Manor," Jasper Ford replied curtly.

Drexel Manor was a famous teahouse nearby. Vivian Quincy assumed Jasper Ford was going to meet a client, but when they arrived, she discovered he was meeting Hayden Kaye’s father!

Vivian Quincy was completely floored. She stood there, dumbfounded, not knowing what to do.

Russell Kaye noticed Vivian Quincy and asked with a smile, "Jasper, who is this?"

"My date," Jasper Ford replied nonchalantly.

A flash of surprise crossed Russell Kaye’s eyes. He couldn’t help but give Vivian Quincy a second look and said, "Since when are you into this type?"

"Recently." Jasper Ford called Vivian Quincy over and told her to greet Russell Kaye.

Vivian Quincy was so scared her heart was about to leap out of her chest! This middle-aged man who looked remarkably young, the man who was almost her father-in-law—and Jasper Ford had just introduced her as his date right in front of him!

Vivian Quincy knew perfectly well that in the eyes of the wealthy, a "date" meant an underground lover, someone who couldn’t be seen in the light of day. Jasper Ford was insulting her!

Vivian Quincy forced a smile and said, neither servile nor overbearing, "Hello, Mr. Kaye. I’m the president’s assistant, just playing the part of his date for today. Please forgive me if I do anything inappropriate, Mr. Kaye."

Jasper Ford’s sharp, handsome brows knitted together. ’She actually dared to explain herself! Is this to prepare for marrying into the Kaye Family and becoming their Young Madam? Does she think she’s worthy?’

Russell Kaye, on the other hand, just smiled. "It’s fine. Have a seat. Don’t just stand there."

"Thank you." Vivian Quincy sat down and said no more.

Russell Kaye and Jasper Ford chatted for half an hour before he left. Seeing it was only eight o’clock, Jasper Ford told Vivian Quincy to drive him home. Vivian Quincy was unwilling, still angry about being called his "date."

"I can drive you back, but first, you need to explain why you said I was your date," Vivian Quincy demanded.

Jasper Ford pinched her chin. "Because I said so. Drive."

Her eyes red, Vivian Quincy felt incredibly wronged but didn’t dare to argue. She followed the GPS and drove all the way to Prosperity Villas. After she drove the car into the Ford Family’s property, Jasper Ford immediately kicked her out!

Vivian Quincy felt upset but didn’t say anything. She grabbed her bag, left the Ford Family estate, and walked out to the main road to hail a cab. Suddenly, she remembered that Beanie was in the Prosperity District. She quickly sent Beanie her location and a message: "Beanie, where are you? Mommy’s here to pick you up."

At the Ford Family estate, Beanie Quincy, who had been playing around Miss Ford, picked up his phone. Blinking his big, beautiful eyes, he said, "Miss Ford, my mommy’s here!"

"Is she? Where is she?" Madam Ford leaned in.

Beanie opened the location pin. "She’s right nearby!" he said joyfully. The little guy then ran to the window, climbed onto a stool to look outside, and sure enough, he saw a slender figure standing not far away, walking further and further into the distance!

"Mommy!" Beanie shouted anxiously out the window, but Vivian Quincy didn’t hear. He jumped off the stool. "Miss Ford, my mommy’s here! I’m going downstairs to get her."

Without waiting for Madam Ford to reply, Beanie, already beaming with joy, opened the door and ran out.

He ran in a great hurry, a short and chubby little ball of energy. No one noticed as he dashed out of the room. BANG! Beanie ran into two hard things. He fell to the ground with a pained grunt.

"Beanie, what’s wrong!" Madam Ford ran out in a panic.

Jasper Ford’s handsome face darkened. He looked down and saw a small child sprawled on the floor, staring up at him with a dazed expression!
