Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Was It Fun Using Me?

Wanda Quincy briskly walked out of the CEO’s office.

Unaware of the situation, Summer Jacobs hurried over. "President Quincy, are you all right?"

Her eyes slightly red, Wanda Quincy glanced at Summer Jacobs and said, "Vivian Quincy is about to go out with Jasper Ford. I don’t care what method you use, just make sure she can’t leave."

Her voice was low and strained.

Summer Jacobs froze for a moment, then nodded. "I understand."

Seeing Vivian Quincy heading toward the office with the report Jasper Ford had requested, Summer Jacobs hurried over and deliberately bumped into her.

Nearby stood a decorative cabinet, on which sat several potted plants, a glass fishbowl, and a pothos growing in water. The collision sent the fishbowl wobbling before it crashed to the floor, shattering everywhere. The fish flopped out onto the broken glass.

Seizing the opportunity, Summer Jacobs tried to shove Vivian Quincy onto the shards of glass on the floor, but she hadn’t expected Vivian to react so quickly. Vivian simply sidestepped and dodged the push.

’She did that on purpose!’

Vivian Quincy instantly saw through Summer Jacobs’s intentions. A cold smile played on her lips. ’If you’re going to be cruel, don’t blame me for being ruthless!’

Vivian stuck out her leg, hooked the other woman’s ankle, and was rewarded with a piercing scream. Summer Jacobs, so aggressive just a second before, slammed heavily onto the ground. The broken glass immediately pierced her hands and feet, and blood began to gush from the cuts.

"Oh my God!"

"There’s so much blood! Somebody help!"

"Call an ambulance, quick!"

Colleagues from the same department panicked at the sight. The chief secretary rushed over at once, startled by the scene before her.

"How did you get hurt this badly? Goodness, what happened?"

In so much pain that she broke out in a cold sweat, tears streamed from Summer Jacobs’s eyes. "Chief Secretary, Vivian Quincy pushed me."

Far from feeling guilty, the accused Vivian Quincy retorted with an arrogant sneer, "You’re the one who lunged at me. You lost your balance and fell."

"Why would I lunge at you for no reason? You’re the one who hurt me! Chief Secretary, you have to get justice for me!" Summer Jacobs cried. Feeling that wasn’t enough, she also tried to call on Wanda Quincy to back her up.

Just then, Jasper Ford walked out of his office. Even if Wanda Quincy had wanted to defend Summer Jacobs, she couldn’t do it now!

’That idiot! When will she ever learn to be a little smarter? I never should have entrusted such an important task to Summer Jacobs. She’s useless!’

"You, come with me." The impossibly elegant man paid no mind to the commotion. After giving the order to Vivian Quincy, he turned and left. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Summer Jacobs cried out, "President, you have to stand up for me!"

The domineering man walking ahead paused, the curve of his sensual lips twisting into a cruel, terrifying smile.

Summer Jacobs instantly felt as if she were frozen solid. Her mouth fell slightly open, unable to form a single word as she trembled uncontrollably, watching Jasper Ford leave.

Vivian Quincy said with a faint, mocking smile, "I’m heading out with the President. You two can continue your little show. I won’t be joining you."

Summer Jacobs’s face contorted with rage as she pointed at Vivian Quincy and started screaming curses. Wanda Quincy, however, simply stood there with a grim expression, seething with suppressed anger.

She couldn’t just stand by and watch Jasper Ford be snatched away by that vixen, Vivian Quincy. So even though Jasper hadn’t asked her to follow, Wanda Quincy couldn’t stop herself from chasing after them.

Vivian Quincy, just about to step into the elevator, happened to see this. A sweet smile bloomed on her exquisite face as she walked up and linked her arm through Jasper Ford’s sleeve.

The man looked down abruptly, surprise flashing in his eyes.

Not far away, Wanda Quincy’s face turned green with fury. She rushed over, her high heels clicking furiously on the floor.

Vivian Quincy smiled and looked up. "President, your sleeve is all wrinkled. Let me straighten it for you."

They entered the elevator, and the doors began to close.

Wanda Quincy, who had just caught up, furiously mashed the ’open’ button, while inside, Vivian Quincy held down the ’close’ button. Just like that, the elevator began to descend.

Wanda Quincy frantically pounded on the elevator doors, letting out a hysterical roar, "Vivian Quincy, you open this door! You shameless vixen!"

At her shriek, everyone in the office turned their heads to peek.

Wanda Quincy no longer cared about her image. She was seething, wanting nothing more than to strangle Vivian Quincy.

Although Vivian Quincy couldn’t see any of this, she could easily imagine the look on Wanda Quincy’s face, and her own beautiful, red lips curved into a smile.

"Had your laugh?"

Suddenly, a cold, questioning voice came from above her.

The smile on Vivian Quincy’s lips froze. She had forgotten the great devil was still right beside her. Having gotten a bit carried away, she quickly looked up to explain, "I was actually..."

Before the words were even fully out of her mouth, a domineering kiss silenced her.

Vivian Quincy’s mind short-circuited.

’Not again!’

’Is this devil of a president addicted to kissing?’

Startled, Vivian Quincy took a sharp step back and wiped her mouth hard with her sleeve. "Why did you kiss me!" she demanded angrily.

"Was it fun, using me?" the man chuckled.

Vivian Quincy’s heart sank. ’Of course this great devil saw right through me.’

Feeling guilty, she kept her head down, not daring to speak.

Jasper Ford said, "I’m heading to Zenith Group. Go prepare some things that a girl would like."

"Are you giving them to someone, President?" Vivian Quincy asked quietly.

Jasper Ford didn’t answer, but his look was enough to show how impatient he was with Vivian Quincy.

Vivian Quincy had no choice but to go buy the items. She bought all kinds of food, mostly things Beanie liked to eat. She bought a whole assortment—cakes, bread, cookies—and made sure to get the most expensive ones. After all, it wasn’t like Jasper Ford was hurting for money.

But when Vivian Quincy returned to Jasper Ford with all the items, his expression clearly changed, and a powerful, icy chill emanated from him.

"What’s wrong? Did I buy the wrong things?" Vivian Quincy didn’t understand what she had done wrong.

Jasper Ford stared at her for a few seconds, said, "Never mind," then drove to a nearby luxury boutique and bought two bracelets.

Vivian Quincy watched from behind, her face turning a little pale.

’So Jasper Ford meant for her to buy expensive gifts! But each of these bracelets cost over a hundred thousand. How could she possibly have that kind of money?’

’No wonder Jasper Ford had looked at her so strangely earlier. Was he... disgusted by how poor she was?’

She felt a little upset and drove the rest of the way in a sullen mood.

She was still sulking when they arrived at Zenith Group.

Kimberly Shaw knew Jasper Ford was coming and had already run out to greet him, a sweet smile on her face. "Jasper, what took you so long? My dad has been waiting for ages."

"Had to pick some things up," the man said, glancing at Vivian Quincy.

Vivian Quincy presented the gifts.

"His assistant? I remember you," Kimberly Shaw said in surprise. "To think you’re accompanying Jasper on his outings. He must think very highly of you."

’Think highly of me?’

Vivian Quincy certainly didn’t want that! She figured Jasper Ford was just retaliating against her.

She didn’t answer, merely offering a polite smile.

"All right, let’s head up. That last project has been delayed for too long, and my father is getting impatient," Kimberly Shaw urged, leading the two of them upstairs.

Jasper Ford and the Zenith Group’s shareholders were in the conference room. Vivian Quincy wasn’t qualified to enter, so she sat in the lounge outside.

Kimberly Shaw walked over. "I heard that Wanda Quincy has been bullying you at the company," she said.

"Not at all," Vivian Quincy said, shaking her head politely. She didn’t want to discuss her personal affairs with an outsider.

Kimberly Shaw laughed. "I have my sources in your company, you know. Still, in all these years, this is the first time I’ve seen Wanda Quincy go after a newcomer like this. It’s really beneath her."

Why didn’t those words make Vivian Quincy happy at all? She felt as if she were being insulted herself.
