Chapter 139: Chapter 139: I Will Take Care of You from Now On

This sentence left Beanie Quincy utterly stunned!

Beanie looked up in disbelief, his big, sparkling eyes wide with shock. "Is what you said true, Mr. Ford?"

His trembling voice was filled with excitement. His tear-streaked eyes were full of anticipation as he gazed at Jasper Ford, blinking rapidly. His brilliant, shining expression made it impossible for Jasper to refuse him.

A little voice in Jasper Ford’s mind kept repeating, ’Say yes to him. Say yes.’

And so, Jasper Ford nodded without hesitation. "It’s true."

"But you have a fiancée, Mr. Ford." Beanie’s happiness was short-lived as his face fell. He thought of Wanda Quincy, worried that awful woman would try to interfere.

Jasper Ford said with a smile, "Wanda Quincy is not my fiancée."

"But she’s always telling everyone she’s the future Young Madam of Imperium Group." Beanie himself had heard it many times. Wanda Quincy had even warned his mommy not to compete with her for a man and threatened to deal with both of them.

Jasper Ford explained, "I owe Wanda Quincy a debt, so I have to compensate her. She started her own company, and using the identity of the Ford Family’s future Young Madam to negotiate partnerships makes things much more convenient for her. It saves her a lot of trouble."

After listening to all this, Beanie finally understood. "So this is all an act Wanda Quincy put on herself. You don’t like her at all, Mr. Ford."

"Correct," Jasper Ford admitted firmly.

But Beanie was still unhappy. "You’re such a powerful person, Mr. Ford. How could you possibly owe Wanda Quincy anything?"

Jasper Ford didn’t answer that question. He just told him, "You’re still young. You wouldn’t understand."

"Then you can tell me, Mr. Ford! If you tell me, I’ll understand," Beanie said with great innocence. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Jasper Ford cupped the boy’s small face and said in a low voice, "The most important thing for a man is to have a sense of responsibility. Even if you don’t like it, you can’t shirk the responsibilities you have to bear."

"Do you have to be responsible for Wanda Quincy, Mr. Ford?" Beanie’s face fell again. He had more or less figured it out.

Jasper Ford didn’t answer.

This was the question that had plagued him for six years.

Without a doubt, he had no interest in Wanda Quincy whatsoever. But as a member of the Ford Family, raised with a strict upbringing, Jasper Ford knew very well what a girl’s first time meant.

If Vivian Quincy hadn’t appeared, he really would have gotten engaged to Wanda Quincy.

But now, Jasper Ford was unwilling.

He used to think all women were the same. Marrying one was the same as marrying any other. All women were like Wanda Quincy—none of them could spark his interest. But ever since meeting Vivian Quincy, Jasper Ford realized that wasn’t true.

He... liked the feeling of being with Vivian Quincy. Especially at night, with the lights off. He loved her soft hums and, even more, the way she looked when she was angry.

The more Jasper Ford thought about it, the more agitated he became.

He pressed a hand to his temple, forcing himself to calm down. He released the little boy from his arms and said, "Alright, no more questions. Go play by yourself."

Beanie said, "Oh," and looked up. "Can I go play with Mommy?"

"You can, but don’t let anyone know about your relationship," Jasper Ford reminded him.

Beanie nodded obediently, then continued, "Are you still going to dock my mommy’s pay this month, Mr. Ford?"

"Yes." Jasper Ford didn’t want to lie to him.

Beanie’s hair practically stood on end. "Why?"

"When I’m in a bad mood, I feel like docking her pay," Jasper Ford said bluntly.

Beanie tilted his head, his whole body twitching with anger. "How can you be so mean, Mr. Ford! I don’t like you anymore! I’m going to tell Miss Ford on you!"

He was chubby, and when he bristled with anger, he looked like a... groundhog?

The smile on Jasper Ford’s lips deepened. He walked over and gently tapped the little one’s nose. "How about I use double the amount of her docked pay to buy you snacks?"

"I don’t believe you." Beanie turned his head away haughtily.

Jasper Ford said, "I keep my word."

"If you’re willing to give me money, Mr. Ford, why can’t you just give it to Mommy?" Beanie retorted. He might be young, but he wasn’t stupid enough to be easily fooled. He wasn’t a three-year-old anymore!

Jasper Ford said, "I don’t give your mommy the money to prevent her from running around behind my back and messing with other men. I’m doing this for your own good."

"My mommy is not that kind of person! You are, Mr. Ford! My mommy is very proper. Unlike you, who has all sorts of women looking for you every day. You’re the one openly fooling around with other women, and Mommy and I haven’t said a word, yet you’re the one making false accusations first! As expected, men are no good!"

The little guy’s voice was filled with righteous indignation!

Jasper Ford’s smile grew even more brilliant, the sharp corners of his mouth curving upwards. "Aren’t you a man?"

"I’m not!" Beanie declared authoritatively.

Jasper Ford asked with a chuckle, "If you’re not a man, then what are you?"

"I’m a boy!" Beanie lifted his chin haughtily and said to Jasper Ford, "Only people like you, Mr. Ford, who can bring disaster to others, count as men."

Jasper’s smile deepened. "Who have I brought disaster to?"

"My mommy is the one you’re persecuting," Beanie mumbled with a pout, convinced that Jasper Ford was not a good person.

It was useless for Jasper Ford to explain, so he just let Beanie think what he wanted. He had figured it out anyway. No matter how much food or how many toys he bought for Beanie, the little guy would always have that same attitude. The moment there was any conflict or problem, he would immediately defend Vivian Quincy.

He had no authority in front of Beanie. He was just like a meal ticket, to be summoned and dismissed at will!

But for some reason, Jasper Ford was quite happy about it. ’It must be all the recent pressure to get married,’ he thought. ’It’s making me want to snatch up any kid I see and take him home.’

’Control yourself!’

’This is someone else’s child!’

Jasper Ford suppressed his inner turmoil and said very seriously, "Go play. Stop being so silly all day."

"I am being serious. You’re the one who’s not being serious, Mr. Ford," Beanie couldn’t help but mutter with a pout.

"You little rascal, you’ve learned to talk back? Who taught you that?" Jasper Ford bent down and pinched the boy’s chubby little cheek. "You eat my food, drink my water, and sleep in my bed. Would it kill you to say something nice?"

Beanie retorted, "You’re the one who begged me to eat, drink, and sleep in your bed, Mr. Ford. It’s not like I wanted to. If you don’t want me here, I just won’t come over tomorrow."

Jasper Ford felt a headache coming on.

’Who did this little spitfire take after?’

’He already knows how to talk back at such a young age!’

For a moment, Jasper Ford didn’t know what to say to this little spitfire, so he just told him to go play and get out of his sight.

Beanie was surprisingly obedient. After he left, he didn’t come back at all. He spent the entire afternoon sitting in the corner where Vivian Quincy was. The other employees found it strange; they tried calling him over, but he wouldn’t budge.

When it was time to get off work, Beanie didn’t even go to say goodbye to Jasper Ford. He was being unbelievably stubborn!

Jasper Ford was angry. He really couldn’t understand how he’d ended up liking such an ungrateful little brat!

"President, is it time to leave?" Caden Chandler couldn’t help but ask when quitting time arrived.

Jasper Ford’s gaze remained locked on Vivian Quincy’s desk. He didn’t answer.

Caden Chandler couldn’t help but steal a few more glances. Knowing Jasper was looking at Vivian Quincy, he said with a smile, "President, if you’re thinking about Miss Quincy, you could go over and talk to her."

"Who said I was thinking about her? Do you want to lose your tongue?" Jasper Ford’s eyes narrowed dangerously, and a powerful, murderous aura erupted from him.
