Chapter 152: A Big Surprise

"Well, even if it was a box, it was a small one," Qiong Xing continued quickly. "It was something that could be lifted with one hand—"

"A small box, huh?" Leander interrupted. "Mr. Hofmann yet you still didn’t want to lose to Evans. In that case, maybe we should start reconsidering whether you should even carry Cari anymore."

"I’m sorry."

Qiong Xing immediately admitted defeat.

Losing the chance to hold Cari would be far too painful.

Usually it was the other way around, but this time Leander was the one scolding Qiong Xing.

For once, Qiong Xing honestly reflected on his mistake and accepted that he had been in the wrong.

"Please, just stop doing things like that for now," Leander said seriously. "The baby is important, of course. But if something happened to the baby and I had to watch you fall into despair because of it... I couldn’t stand that."

Qiong Xing was surprised by those words.

But when he realized that Leander was saying all of this because he was worried about him, Qiong Xing felt embarrassed about trying to hide the truth earlier.

Leander gently lifted Qiong Xing’s face, which had been lowered in shame.

This time, instead of the teasing smile from earlier, he showed the warm smile that Qiong Xing loved so much.

"Elias and the baby might get mad at me for saying this," Leander said quietly. "But the most important person to me is you, Qiong Xing. If something happened to you, I wouldn’t be able to keep living."

Leander pulled Qiong Xing close to his chest.

Hearing the steady sound of Leander’s heartbeat made Qiong Xing feel calm.

When they first met, Qiong Xing had thought Leander was annoying.

But now, Leander had become someone Qiong Xing absolutely could not lose.

It felt unfair that Leander could be this handsome and sincere at the same time.

"You’re important to me too, Leander," Qiong Xing said softly. "I’ll be more careful from now on. I don’t want to see you looking sad."

"Good," Leander replied. "Do it for my sake."

Qiong Xing then leaned in and kissed him as he put both apology and gratitude into the gesture.

But the moment their lips met, Leander immediately held the back of his head and deepened the kiss.

It had been a while since they had shared such an intense kiss.

Qiong Xing’s breathing soon became unsteady, but Leander showed no sign of stopping.

If anything, the kiss only grew more passionate.

And before he realized it, Qiong Xing could no longer bring himself to stop either.

"Mm... ah... Leander..."

Leander changed the angle of the kiss and slowly licked inside Qiong Xing’s mouth, making his whole body grow hot.

Qiong Xing tried to push him away as he placing his hands against Leander’s arms, but Leander easily caught both of his wrists with one hand.

Qiong Xing couldn’t resist him and he could only endure it as Leander continued.

But when the hand around his waist slipped inside his clothes, Qiong Xing finally panicked and struggled.

"L-Leander... Leander, no."

"Why not?" Leander asked.

"Mm... Cari and the others... they might come back!"

Elias and the others had gone to take a bath and they could return at any moment.

Qiong Xing insisted that they really had to stop, but Leander still didn’t pull away.

Just as Qiong Xing was wondering what he should do.

"Ow! That hurts! What the—?"

"...Mayo? Were you here the whole time?"

"Mayo~!"

At some point, Mayo had appeared and was biting Leander’s leg.

Qiong Xing had no idea when Mayo had come in and the thought that Mayo might have seen everything made him feel embarrassed.

However, thanks to Mayo’s sudden attack, Leander’s mood seemed to fade and he finally let Qiong Xing go.

"Thank you, Mayo," Qiong Xing said.

"Mayo~ Mayo~"

When Qiong Xing praised him, he gently patted Mayo’s head and Mayo happily rubbed its head against him.

...

"Qiong Xing!?"

"...Huh?"

After not seeing him for a while, Naz shouted the moment he saw Qiong Xing’s body.

It wasn’t that Qiong Xing had gotten fat...

Well, actually, maybe he had.

"It’s been a while," Qiong Xing said calmly. "I’m a little late, but I came to give you the news."

His appetite had only recently started to return.

Before that, he hadn’t visited Naz’s house for quite some time.

So he decided to come today and report everything to Naz and Naz’s uncle, Duzy, at the same time.

But the moment Naz saw Qiong Xing, he let out a loud scream.

"H-How... how... what is... how—"

"Calm down," Duzy said sharply.

Naz was completely confused and although Duzy tried to interrupt him, he still looked shocked as he widened his eyes when he heard the news.

By now Qiong Xing had entered his sixth month of pregnancy.

Compared to the beginning, his stomach had grown much larger.

Walking had become difficult, so Elias and the others often carried him without hesitation.

Even so, his stomach would still grow bigger.

Because of that, Qiong Xing couldn’t help but feel deep respect for women everywhere.

Only now did he truly understand how difficult it must be to walk around while carrying such a large belly.

"I’m eorry for surprising you," Qiong Xing said calmly. "But don’t worry, it’s not some strange illness. I’m just pregnant."

"...."

Duzy let out a long heavy sigh, while Naz on the other hand... collapsed backward onto the ground.

Qiong Xing quickly tried to rush over to help him, but Duzy hurriedly stopped him instead and started slapping Naz’s cheeks lightly.

"Hey! Wake up!"

"...Mm... huh? Uncle? Why am I—"

"I’m glad you woke up. Are you hurt anywhere?" Qiong Xing asked.

Naz had fallen quite dramatically, so Qiong Xing quickly checked to see if he had hit his head or injured himself.

Fortunately, it seemed that Naz had only bumped his backside a little.

There were no serious injuries.

"Um... uh... Qiong Xing, that... your... um..." Naz stammered.
