Chapter 430: Chapter 424: Daddy’s Kiss

"Don’t pull me, I want to ask Mr. Jing when he plans to secretly marry my artist..." Miss Chen struggled theatrically in the car, but she had no intention of stepping outside.

Chu Jiu pretended to push and shove back with her playfully, neither daring to actually get off the car to ask the question.

Just as Shi Su reached the side of the car, she suddenly heard a shout of "Mommy!"

The car window rolled down simultaneously, and Mianmian almost crawled out of the front passenger seat window to leap into Shi Su’s arms. Jing Jihan reacted quickly and scooped the little girl back from the window, saying, "Sit properly, it’s dangerous on the window."

Mianmian sat cheerfully in Jing Jihan’s lap, waving her little hand at Shi Su who was still outside the car, "Mommy, get in the car! I’ve been playing inside for so long!"

Shi Su could tell, she had indeed been playing for quite a while.

Under normal circumstances, Mianmian wouldn’t be sitting in the front passenger seat. For the child’s safety, Jing Jihan would have certainly had her sit in the back. But now, it seemed the little girl was bored from the parked car and had climbed all over, ending up in Jing Jihan’s lap, where she was now too excited to move, her face glowing with enthusiasm and excitement.

Jing Jihan was busy holding the little one in his arms, his hand gently patting Mianmian’s little head, and he didn’t have a spare moment to get out of the car. Seeing Shi Su standing there, he gave her a look, signaling her to get in the car.

In the distance, several cars near the dressing room slowly drove away. The actresses inside these cars noticed where Shi Su was standing and initially intended to take a closer look at what she was doing.

But they saw a man appear through the car window from afar.

Instantly panicked, the actresses regretted even looking and urged the driver to drive away, not daring to linger a moment longer.

Shi Su opened the front passenger door and sat inside, wanting to hold Mianmian to avoid delaying Jing Jihan from driving. But just as she buckled her seatbelt and reached out, she heard Shi Mianmian clinging to Jing Jihan’s neck, asking, "Daddy, where are we going?"

Shi Su turned abruptly, "Mianmian, you..."

She had been calling him Uncle Ji Han, and now instantly "Daddy?"

"Mommy, Uncle Ji Han said he’s my daddy," Mianmian said, tightly holding onto Jing Jihan and looking cutely at Shi Su. "And Daddy said I could always call him Daddy from now on, forever, because he’s my daddy..."

Shi Su: ???

She felt a subtle disbelief.

Even though her relationship with Jing Jihan was legitimate and justified, was Shi Mianmian really able to switch so quickly, embracing it so smoothly?

This "Daddy" sounded natural, making Shi Su’s heart race wildly, feeling as though Jing Jihan was seizing the chance to claim a daughter at lightning speed, but without anything seemingly wrong.

"I think we should wait until Mr. Jing has accepted everything before discussing it again?"

Despite the quick bonding between the "father and daughter," her suggestion seemed to dampen the mood a bit.

But she felt a bit guilty. The sudden openness of everything—Mr. Jing probably already knew by now, but his thoughts on the matter were still uncertain.

Jing Jihan looked at the Mianmian sitting in his lap and said softly, "Mianmian, go sit in the back seat first. When we arrive, and get out, Daddy will hold you again, okay?"

"Okay, Daddy, kisses!" Mianmian said as she leaned over to plant a firm kiss on Jing Jihan’s chin before obediently sliding out of his lap.

Mianmian initially intended to snuggle with Mommy, Shi Su, for a while but noticed Mommy was giving her a "You two are unreasonably close" look. Mianmian couldn’t help but giggle, slipping into the back seat to climb into the child seat and sitting quietly.

Shi Su was speechless just now, overwhelmed by their natural father-daughter closeness. She turned and saw a child seat had appeared in Jing Jihan’s car.

She looked back again, "When did you install a child seat?"

This Bentley, sleek and luxurious, now featured an adorably cute seat. Shi Mianmian looked quite content sitting there, and Shi Su realized her previous understanding of Jing Jihan’s decisiveness was only a fraction of the truth.

Jing Jihan glanced at Shi Su’s slightly bewildered expression, his eyebrows raising subtly, "Before I came to pick you up at the film studio."

Back then, Shi Su was acutely aware of Jing Jihan’s genuine care and affection for Mianmian. She never doubted the bond between the two.

He always protected Mianmian, with more timely reason and responsibility—like considering her safety in the car so thoroughly.

For instance, he wouldn’t allow Mianmian to consume too much chocolate.

And now, similar to how a child seat suddenly appeared in his car.

It felt like overnight, he had pulled Mianmian firmly back into his world, all of a sudden as if it were completely natural.

Yet, he does so with determination, as if it’s only logical, leaving no room for hesitation.

His swift decisiveness leaves her feeling like she missed something important.

"Where are we going?" Shi Su shifted her gaze from Mianmian to the man in the driver’s seat.

Jing Jihan replied, "To meet someone very important."

The man’s tone was gentle, masking all his usual noble aloofness, with a calm, steady smile that made it seem as though mother and daughter were right where they belonged—inside his car, coming and going with him.

As the engine roared to life, the black Bentley left the film set.

The location of the filming was still far from the city, and without knowing the exact destination, Shi Su didn’t ask further. She only noticed that Mianmian seemed remarkably energetic and not at all sleepy—it seemed the little girl had indeed taken a nap in his office before coming to pick her up.

Shi Su herself, however, felt a bit sleepy. Just as she closed her eyes for a moment, she felt a coat being draped over her.

Opening her eyes, she saw it was Jing Jihan’s trench coat, exuding his clean, crisp scent.

Just as she thought about closing her eyes for a nap, she opened them again, lifting her gaze to examine the cufflinks on his trench coat sleeves.

Seeing the dark silver cufflinks, she was momentarily dazed, then looked over at the man focusing on driving.

Sensing Shi Su’s gaze, Jing Jihan looked straight ahead, speaking unhurriedly, "There’s at least half an hour of the journey left; you can sleep a little longer."

Shi Su looked at him, not saying a word, but her heart was filled with disbelief.

So, when she had too much to drink at the ’Shadow Kill’ kick-off party and threw up on him, the cufflinks she squinted at were indeed these, not some mistaken illusion.

Has he been wearing these cufflinks all along?

Shi Su tightened the trench coat around her, covering half her face without a trace, but was unable to fall asleep.

As the car continued, Mianmian, not previously sleepy, began to doze in the back, eyes closed quietly in a nap.

Shi Su, who should have been asleep, sat in the front passenger seat, occasionally sneaking a glance this way, stealing a look every now and then.

Jing Jihan, holding the wheel, spoke in an unconcerned, leisurely manner, "If you want to look, do it openly. I don’t mind."

Shi Su quickly pulled the coat up higher, covering her entire face with his clothing, pretending nothing had happened and feigning death, her lips couldn’t help but curl into a continuous smile.
