A Dragon against the Whole World-Chapter 166 - 158: Face the Ominous Star of Death
The thick night shrouded Dragon Valley.
Suspended in front of Galos was a Communication Stone, from which came the voice of the Iron Dragon.
"It’s always me who gets hurt! Those damned centaurs, pretending to submit to earn my trust, making me let down my guard, and then ambushing me."
The Iron Dragon said angrily, "Daring to attack us Dragons, they are no ordinary centaurs, we must strike back with full force! If it weren’t for my wisdom and calmness, I might have been permanently trapped by them."
Galos listened quietly to the Iron Dragon’s lament.
After understanding the situation, he said, "No worries, as long as you’re not dead, it’s a minor issue."
The Iron Dragon said, "How do we deal with these centaurs? They call themselves the White Mane Clan, there should be other centaurs, not just the ones I’ve seen."
"Tasha!"
Galos called out, and the Flying Dragon Leader, circling and watching in the airspace, quickly landed.
"Do you know the White Mane Clan? A clan composed of centaurs."
Galos asked.
He doesn’t fight battles without assurance; before acting, he needed to understand the enemy’s background to ensure there were no hidden dangers.
The Flying Dragon Leader pondered briefly and said, "I know, their territory is in the west of Dragon Valley, we’ve had conflicts with the centaurs when hunting."
"How large are they?"
"Not too big nor too small, their overall level is stronger than our Flying Dragon Group, but definitely cannot contend with you."
The Flying Dragon Leader said, then the scar on his face slightly twitched, and he excitedly said, "My Lord, are we going to war with the centaurs? The Flying Dragon Group will tear them apart."
Galos said, "They will pay the price for their actions, however, your task is to guard Dragon Valley."
He let the flying dragon continue their patrols.
Galos said to the Iron Dragon, "I’ll be there soon." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Immediately, he retracted the Communication Stone, and the Red Iron Dragon slowly stood up.
He stretched his wings, his rugged and majestic body was fully visible under the moonlight, black scales like a heavy armor, with many places densely covered with spikes.
Facing the enemy, Galos adhered to the principle of striking first to gain the advantage.
The events of tonight would be settled tonight.
With a flap of the dragon wings, sand and stones flew.
Galos surged upwards with a gust of wind, tearing a long, comet-like trail in the night sky, flying towards the direction of the Gray Magnetic Iron Ore.
Some time later.
Before dawn, the night remained deep and thick.
At the Gray Magnetic Iron Ore, Silver Mane and Ironhoof tussled without a clear victor.
Because it was not a fight to the death, and they were not enemies, their levels were similar, so after fighting for a while and realizing they couldn’t overpower each other, they stopped to rest.
"A sparring match couldn’t determine the victor."
Silver Mane suggested, "Later, when we return to the clan, we’ll drink hearty ale, and whoever remains sober the longest will be responsible for mining the Gray Magnetic Iron Ore, how about it?"
Centaurs are keen on drinking, rivaling even the dwarves.
Ironhoof, confident in his drinking capacity, flicked his horse tail and said, "No problem, the one standing last will surely be me."
Just as he finished speaking, both of them suddenly locked eyes and simultaneously looked to the sky.
A young Iron Dragon returned, circling high above, coldly watching them.
"Bring the bow."
Ironhoof extended his hand.
A centaur archer handed over a longbow and arrows.
Ironhoof let out a light shout, his arm muscles bulging, drawing the bow and nocking an arrow, the bowstring pulling like a full moon, and simultaneously channeled magic energy into it.
In the next second, an arrow whistled through the air.
But it failed to hit the Iron Dragon high above.
The distance was too great.
"Cowardly lizard!"
Ironhoof cursed provocatively, shouting, "Did you come back just to show off your wounds?"
The Iron Dragon remained unhurried, sneering, "Reptiles, your death day approaches and you are still unaware."
Ironhoof was indifferent, but Silver Mane felt a slight unease.
The behavior of this young dragon was not quite like the Dragons he knew.
Silver Mane spoke, intending to say something to probe the Iron Dragon’s nature.
Suddenly.
A sound like thousands of blades unsheathing, tearing through the wind and sky, came from afar, piercing the centaurs’ eardrums, changing their expressions.
The Iron Dragon, however, showed a look of delight.
"Listen, this is the sound of death."
Looking down at the scurrying centaurs, the Iron Dragon howled, "Master of Red Wings, the ominous star of death, my dear brother, he is here!"
Brothers?!
Ironhoof and Silver Mane anxiously pawed the ground, while looking up at the firmament.
The firmament was torn apart.
A crimson meteor streaked across the night sky, rolling and scattering clouds in its path, dragging a blazing tail behind.
Boom!
The thunderous roar resounded.
A circle of airwaves exploded behind, as the crimson meteor plunged towards the earth.
As the distance closed, the centaurs finally saw its form clearly.
It was not a meteor, but a formidable and terrifying Evil Dragon, whose strength defied imagination. It spread its wings, the scales on the wing membranes grinding against each other, sparking hot embers, with dark red flames surging behind. The black scales on its body rubbed rapidly against the air, glowing faintly red.
The Evil Dragon descended from the sky with an unstoppable terrifying posture.
Long Wei felt like an invisible giant hand clutching the hearts of the centaurs, making them almost suffocate.
"Stand guard, prepare to fight!"
Ironhoof roared.
This strong centaur giant tensed his bow and shot arrows, and the other Centaur Divine Archers also unleashed a volley of arrows.
Clink clank!
Arrows that could pierce steel fell upon Galos, clashing with his hard scales, sparking, and breaking instantaneously. Even when they hit his face armor, they could not draw blood.
"Scatter, scatter!"
The Centaur Commander bent his knees and leapt away from the spot.
Just as the Red Iron Dragon was about to hit the ground, it suddenly spread its wings, its body tracing a sharp curve, directly charging towards Ironhoof.
The speed of centaurs galloping on the ground ranks among the top of many creatures, but in front of the Red Iron Dragon, they appeared sluggish and incomparable.
Ironhoof suddenly stopped, his four hooves gouging deep marks into the ground.
He roared, unable to think, instinctively raising his battle spear, thrusting it towards the swiftly advancing mighty Evil Dragon.
The straight thrust of the battle spear was out of instinct, but in this life-and-death crisis, Ironhoof’s entire body surged with magic power like a tsunami, his movement agile to the extreme, with the battle spear and his arm and body seeming to become one unit.
This attack transcended Ironhoof’s previous limits, as fast as lightning, thrusting at the Evil Dragon’s eye socket.
"Faster! A bit faster!"
The passage of time seemed to slow down, Ironhoof’s focus entirely concentrated on the attack, roaring internally.
However, his body was suddenly struck as if by thunder.
"Ugh—!"
Ironhoof’s roar mingled with fragments of his insides as they surged out.
The opponent’s claw strike was even faster.
Before the battle spear could hit, the four-meter-tall giant was swept by a claw across his body, as if hit by a meteor, his massive form rolling on the ground, leaving a striking blood trail.
Simultaneously, the Red Iron Dragon casually swung its tail.
Three Centaur Elites trying to stage a surprise attack were swept away, as fragile as stalks of wheat.
Another Centaur Commander leapt high, channeling all his magic power into his heavy sword, slicing at Galos’ neck from the side.
He did not know that this neck had once withstood an Evil-Breaking Slash from a level 13 Paladin without breaking.
However, the Red Iron Dragon did not allow the attack to land on its neck. Its body lightly shifted to the side.
Clang!
Silver Mane’s strike landed on the spines on its shoulder, sparking clusters of fire. Immediately, the scales exploded, and the spines shot out, piercing through Silver Mane’s armor and magical defense, penetrating his body, leaving bloody holes.
The bursting flames also flung him away, landing heavily on the ground.
Galos hadn’t even moved his claws—his ’counter-armor’ had already dealt a severe blow to the opponent.
From the moment he launched the attack, it had taken less than thirty seconds for both Centaur Commanders to suffer severe damage.
The remaining Centaur Warriors froze on the spot, these warriors once daring to hunt the White Dragon. Their fingers grasping their weapons shivered uncontrollably.
The Evil Dragon hadn’t even truly acted; just a remnant of its power had crushed the two Commanders like ants.
"I say—"
Galos surveyed his surroundings, his gaze indifferent.
"—Kneel!"
His voice was gentle, yet bore the weight of a mountain.
Thud!
The thudding sound of knees hitting the ground rang out in unison.
The most stubborn veterans also prostrated on the ground, their foreheads pressed firmly against the bloodstained earth.
A young warrior even lost control, a pale yellow liquid streaming down his steel greaves, but at this moment, no one would mock him, for all the centaurs trembled like leaves in the grip of Long Wei.
Surrounding the Red Iron Dragon, the centaurs all knelt to the ground, groveling.
