A Core Ship From The Start-Chapter 1611 - 1077: Killing All the Way_2
Chapter 1611: Chapter 1077: Killing All the Way_2
"But the key to defeating the Skeleton King is his former crown. Without the crown, we can’t unlock the seal..."
"I told you it’s not necessary."
Duanmu Huai helplessly interrupted Deckard Cain’s rambling again. In fact, Deckard Cain had already mentioned this before, but the moment Duanmu Huai heard it, he started to feel a headache.
He hated these kinds of lousy quests the most. Basically, there’s a seal in Leoric’s tomb, and only his crown can unlock it. So Deckard Cain initially wanted Duanmu Huai to fetch Leoric’s crown, but Duanmu decisively refused. He despised these idiotic tasks; waste time finding the crown only to end up searching for gems on the crown? Find the gems, then have to repair the crown, and still need to locate a blacksmith? If the blacksmith is easy to find, fine, but what if not?
How long would it take to get the crown repaired and return it? Years?
It’s just a seal, isn’t it? As if my God of Destruction is pretend? What seal? Can it possibly be stronger than my destruction magic?
If necessary, I’ll just plant a thermite bomb beneath it and blast this place to kingdom come!
Who has time to follow procedures? I just want you dead right away!
"This is it, Steel Warrior."
After taking out the obstructing undead creatures, Duanmu Huai, led by Deckard Cain, arrived at a church where a thick stone door stood tightly shut.
"As you can see, the door to Leoric’s Tomb is completely sealed, and since Leoric is now an undead, we must use the crown to fix it on Leoric’s corpse to utterly defeat him..."
Though Deckard Cain was earnest and patient, Duanmu Huai couldn’t care less. He directly ignored Deckard Cain’s persuasion, stretched his wrist, and walked forward. Facing the heavy, tightly shut stone door, Duanmu Huai lifted his Thunder Warhammer and smashed it downward!
"Boom!!!"
As the Thunder Warhammer struck the stone door, it shattered like tofu, and without a word, Duanmu Huai marched through the remains, warhammer in hand.
"........."
Staring blankly as Duanmu Huai disappeared through the door, Deckard Cain was appalled. His eyes widened, unable to believe what he just witnessed.
He knew Leoric’s seal wasn’t a trivial thing. Although Leoric wasn’t a Demon God, humans used tremendous effort to thoroughly seal him. Logic dictated that without the crown, unless a Demon God personally intervened, it should be impossible to break the seal so effortlessly!
Who is that man really?
"Boom!!"
The resulting rumble from inside snapped Deckard Cain back to reality. He didn’t hesitate and quickly followed through the now-open door.
"Go to hell, foul undead! There’s no place for you in this world!"
Duanmu Huai’s shout thundered through the tomb as he strode forward, ignoring the ghosts and assaults from Skeleton Guards and bloated, foul-smelling beings from all directions. With a powerful sweep of his warhammer, the beastly gust from its swing crushed everything daring enough to stand in its path into pieces.
For Duanmu Huai, vanquishing these low-level opponents was effortless, not even requiring the use of skills, simply eliminating them with basic strikes.
But for Deckard Cain following him, all he could do was question his own existence.
As a member of Horadrim, Deckard Cain spent his life studying demons. While somewhat boastful, he believed few knew more about demons than he did.
Yet, the scene before his eyes defied all his understanding.
As for undead creatures, Deckard Cain was familiar with them. For instance, Skeleton Guards were not just ordinary skeletons; they required magic, magical weapons, or holy power to crush them completely. Otherwise, they would simply regenerate even if shattered.
And against ghosts, physical attacks were supposed to be ineffective since they are spiritual bodies, not physical entities—a fact he once thought irrefutable.
But... what on earth is happening!!
Seeing Duanmu Huai unhesitatingly strike with his hammer, and the undead creatures around being smashed into fragments with every blow, Deckard Cain found himself overwhelmed. Merely observing Duanmu Huai’s combat made Deckard Cain feel as if his years of demon research had been completely overturned.
Were the undead truly this weak?
Why could this Steel Warrior so easily dispatch so many undead spirits with just a few simple swings?
Could there be some aspect of my research that remains incomplete?
Deckard Cain continued following Duanmu Huai, and not only did undead creatures fail to impede them, but even the sealed doors couldn’t withstand this formidable warrior’s advance. Deckard Cain watched in awe as Duanmu Huai charged at locked iron doors like a raging bull.
