"Wow!who do we have here?isn’t it the assistant director?’’Mr.brown said his face lightened up when he saw Nathan walking into the reserved hotel,his facial expression was enough for him to know that he was just the way Chairman Williams had predicted.

But that was just the face,he could do alot more with him than his face,he turned to his daughter who was seated down,the girl knew what the look meant because she stood up instantly with her face beaming with a radiant smile.

"I’m Mary brown,Nice to meet you"She introduced herself,her outstretched hands hanging in the air longer than unusual because the man standing in front of her was observing her with keen eyes before he reluctantly took it.

"Nathaniel Knights,it’s nice to meet you"He said in a monotone which made Mary wonder if she made a mistake in her introduction because the look he had on his face gave her the wrong impression about herself today.

Maybe she wasn’t dressed well?she thought looking up to find him staring at his dad’s with a grimace look on his face,she noticed he wasn’t comfortable,but why the look when she was here?

She’s Mary Brown,why would he have a disgusting look on his face while having dinner when she’s seated right next to him,he should be gladened that he was here with her,he should be glad he’s dining with Mary Brown.

She sat down turning to look at her dad who was also aware of his unruly character,he didn’t say anything which pissed her off,she knew him quite well he wasn’t one to be treated that way but he didn’t do anything and sat down looking at him as if he was someone important. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

What was her dad thinking?she didn’t like Nathan at all,he’s so rude and proud of himself,she didn’t see them working out in the nearest future just like her dad had told her.

But why did he come alone? Zaiden was supposed to be here with him,the engaged brother,she was heartbroken eneb she saw the news,for crying out loud he’s the sweetheart of the country and she has bragged out to the other girls how her dad was planning on settling a blind date for the both of them,only to get disappointed seeing the news about him getting engaged to some lady whose existence was still not made known to the public.

The entire media houses in the country had tried everything just to get the information on who the lucky miss was,but it wasn’t that easy getting information when the most wealthiest family was against releasing her identity yet.

In general,she was known as the hidden wife of the young ceo,the interest of the citizens were on the highest peak and rumours had it that they were hiding something terrible from the public pertaining to the new member of the family.

Looking at Nathan who was seated here as if he was forced to come here,sje was unsure if she could get any vital information out of him pertaining to his brother. He had a cold look on his face which made her have goosebumps just by staring at him.

He’s so scary,reality scary,she couldn’t wait for this to be over so that she could go back and have a good night’s sleep,but she was sure she would dream about this handsome devil sitting right in front of her.

"It seems you are the only one here Tonight?"Mr.Brown started a discussion to lighten up the dull mood,the man seated made him have second thoughts of pairing him with his daughter.

Was he human?

He doubted if he was actually one,he had been hearing rumours about the two brothers being a cold freak, although he was disappointed when the old man told him the eldest was already engaged and he was firm in his decision to not rechange his decision about Zaiden’s marriage.

He was more surprised when the old amn set up a dinner appointment with his son,but he requested to see the eldest even after knowing that he was engaged,the old man didn’t complained about it but seeing as the eldest wasn’t here,he was angry with him.

However,he would make do with the youngest here,afterall,he’s his future son in-law if only Mary doesn’t mess up this chance given to her.

"I think so"Nathan said while taking a drink in front of him,a fixed smile on his face when he noticed that they were about uncomfortable with the way he was composing himself in front of them.

He should have known this was what his grandpa was planning when he mentioned having a dinner date suddenly with them,but what he didn’t understand was the reason why he had to go with Zaiden.

He was not on good talking terms with him and he plans to keep it that way,but seeing as he wasn’t here made him angry somehow,was he aware of this setting?

Was he the one who talked to his old man about this arrangement,because he was sure he got his message earlier at the dinner when he tried taking Hazel out of the decision to stay in the same room with him,he remembered the way he clenched his fist holding himself from throwing a fit in front if the family.

Such a good liar.

He tightly clenched his fist under the table when the possiblity of Zaiden knowing about this appointment crossed his mind,no,he clearly knew about it,that’s why he chooses to not show up,so as to give him enough time to talk to his supposed blind date.

Looking at the young lady seated infront of him,he could notice the vexed lines that were on her face, luckily,she was a smart one who was able to tell when someone was not interested in her,so he won’t have any problem trying to tell her to bug off.

She was a Blondie and a carbon copy of the man who was seated beside her,she was pretty but he wasn’t attracted to Blondies,he preferred them exactly the way Arianna was.

Why think of her at this time?

He wondered if she was alright,was he too hard on her and that’s why she retaliated by passing out because of a part experience behich he opened up by his harshness on her.

But he couldn’t remember being harsh on her, although he was a bit too forward by attempting to kiss her but what’s wrong in touching her when she was willing,after all,she’s his brother’s leftover toy,so a little teasing won’t hurt.

"How’s your father and grandpa?"Mr Brown’s voice asked this time when the waiter came up with their food,Mary stayed silent avoiding her constant gaze from her dad’s to strike a conversation with Nathan but she didn’t bulge one bit.

"They sent their pleasantries"Nathan lied through his teeth,not white sure if his dad knew about this and kept it away from him,he couldn’t be thinking of getting him married,he wasn’t ready for that,no,he would never be ready for that phase of an annoying life,women were a handful and he wasn’t ready for that at all.

Besides,he’s just twenty four, there’s enough time to enjoy his Casanova lifestyle before his topic about getting married,he just didn’t want to think about it.

Mr Brown’s ringing phone brought his attention back to reality when the man excused himself leaving him with his daughter who has a bored look in her face,which made him happy,he didn’t want her feeling entertained by him so as to not give the wrong impression that he likes her when he doesn’t like her at all,so,it was better this way.

But that didn’t fit his gentleness,but he didn’t actually said he was a gentleman,in the end he decides to talk to her first,after all,it’s just a dinner appointment which was never going to happen again.

"Bored i see?"He asked,her face looking up to him,smirking at him with a look which said ’oh! the mute finally speaks,he can choose to not talk to her,but he’s trying to be a gentleman for the first time,which is unlike him,this is definitely not Nathan’s style.

"Since I’ve been ignored I’m not one to one to ask for attention,so.."She said, raising her glass of wine cup to cheer at him before drinking from it,she noticed the way he grinned at her statement. He was finding it funny playing with her but she’s going to pay him back,let him wait and see.

"Only child?"He asked suddenly,his interest towards n her surprised him too,she was spoilt and arrogant, definitely not his type but he was enjoying the conversation.

"Why asking?Are you scared I have another siblings who’s competing for my father’s wealth?"She grunted folding her arms and that was when she saw the way his eyes changed,the little warmness in it which she noticed a while ago was gone,this time his jaw was clenched which gave her the idea that he was pissed off and she loved it.

Who does he think he is to look down on her?

The sudden ringing of his phone in his pocket stopped him from snapping at the Blondie who had a naughty smile on her face,looking at the identity,his brows were raised in surprise.

Maybe his dad was calling after knowing what he did by not telling him about this surprised dinner appointment.

"Father"He answered,looking away from Martu while pinching his nose, he could make out the frustration and heavy breathings of his dad as if he was having problems with talking.

Something was wrong,He could sense it.

"Are you okay?"Mary asked,this time with a concerned look when she noticed the worried lines on his face,he stood up ignoring her but halted his steps when he heard the very word from his dad which made him lose all reasoning.

"Your mother is missing"
