The silent treatment followed after the makeout session in the bedroom between the two couples,oddly enough Avery could see through the two of them and knew that something happened but she didn’t want to ask after what transpired between her husband and her son.
She nearly had a heart attack seeing the two of them like that,Zaiden’s wrist raised up to his father’s face,that’s not how she planned any of these.
She knew the reason behind all these was because of Hazel,it was written all over Ezekiel that he disliked the girl but to still pester Zaiden about her was still another thing altogether after Zaiden refused to listen to him.
She didn’t know what’s wrong with Ezekiel these days , he’s just behaving exactly like His brother and his family who didn’t want Hazel here at all and she knew it wouldn’t be long before the old man gets to know of the argument which took place last night because of Hazel.
She didn’t want her family to be divided because of some girl,they were better off without her as long as there was peace,so,she’s still contemplating if she would go ahead and convince Hazel to leave before the family turns out to kill each other because of her.
She already lost her appetite knowing what she was about to do would hurt the young lady. She was such a nice soul and it felt bad doing this to her,but that was for the best,she has to leave.
Doing this would affect the family and business greatly because the press would take them as a joke for humiliating themselves but the rumours would die down soon with Ezekiel’s help once she tells him about her decision.
But she doubts if he would give her a listening ear,he has been avoiding her for days ever since the decision to bring Hazel back and the worst situation here now,was convincing Grandpa.
The old man wouldn’t agree to whatever thing she had planned,it was as if Hazel bewitched him because he didn’t see any bad thing in her to deserve such harsh treatment from what she’s planning.
Turning to look at Sophia eating her breakfast elegantly with a carefree attitude as if she was innocent,when she would be the happiest person on earth once she hears that Hazel wasn’t going to stay no more.
She didn’t quite understand what her sister-in-law’s problem was exactly,she wants her son to succeed without minding the fact that they were one family and whatever good that happens to Zaiden or Nathan would be beneficial to the two of them because they were a family but that wasn’t the same for her,she thinks they were in some family feuds.
Grandpa was the first person to notice her uneasiness and distracted mind because she was picking at her food. He dropped his spoon on his plate and it created a sound that made everyone jerk in their seat.
"What’s wrong father?wasn’t the food prepared to your liking?"Avery spoke first because Sophia wasn’t making any moves to talk,she prepared breakfast today so it was likely that the old man was about to condemn her cooking,since he never seems to say any good thing about her.
It was very obvious that he was about to shout at her for useless reasons,Elijah was fast in holding her hands under the table ,sadly Nathan wasn’t here he left early to work saying he didn’t have any appetite to eat.
"You are the reason!"Grandpa attacked Avery before the family which surprised Sophia because she had earnestly been waiting for him to shout at her but surprisingly,he was shouting at his favorite daughter, wonderful!
Sophia smiled while she took a cup of water with her attention still fixed on the two to know exactly what was wrong,she turned to lock eyes with Hazel ,who removed hers instantly with her head bowed.
She was scared,well,that’s the beginning,she hadn’t seen something scarier and she’s going to give it to her.
"Me father,what did I do?``Avery asked surprised,why is he throwing tantrums this morning when she’s not in the mood and most importantly at her.
He didn’t reply, he only dropped his cutlery and stood up, a big sigh leaving his lips before exiting the dining table as everyone was looking at Avery as to what she did to Grandpa for him to lose his appetite and his temper at her.
She left immediately after him followed by Ezekiel,while Sophia giggled standing up,she took an apple from the basket in the middle of the table while turning to the two couples"Bon appetìte"
She said lastly, laughing and left the gathering,her husband left shortly with a phone to his ear, leaving only Hazel and Zaiden.
Hazel had her head bowed. She didn’t want to look at him,no,she didn’t know what expression she would find in his face after what they did in the bedroom.
She had closed her eyes with the expectation that he was about to kiss her when he left her neck after dropping a soft kiss there smiling at his artwork which she used a clothing to wrap around her neck to cover what he did to her.
She felt for the ground to open up and swallow her whole after she opened one of her eyes to see smiling mischievously at her asking her the reason why she closed her eyes,she pushed him off and ran into the bathroom her heart beating wildly.
Honestly speaking,she loved the Zaiden she saw this morning,he was so sweet and careful and most importantly,he forgot about his hatred for her and played with her this morning,it made her heart flutter that she was able to see this side of him
This morning, he didn’t look like her wicked fiance who derived joy from tormenting her life, irrespective of the fact that he’s a born player and pervert,she loved his mood this morning but that didn’t last long because he was back to his very cold self after they had dressed up to come down for breakfast.
He didn’t smile like he did yesterday at dinner but he kept a cold face till everyone left leaving the two of them alone.
She had a lot to ask him but the loop on his face gave her the idea that he wasn’t in the mood to talk at the moment,she wondered what tipped him off this morning that she was sure he was bipolar.
How does he manage to be cheerful and then switch on to be a cold freak,he didn’t know he looks more handsome when he’s so cheerful.
She palmed her mouth hoping he didn’t hear her say that and that was when she saw him standing up, buttoning his clothe and walking out of the room,she stood up out of reflex and held his hand stopping his movement,her heart beating that she just stopped the devil fro leaving and he was going to kill her.
She saw him turning to look at her, a cold look on his face which sent shivers down her spine,but she held her breath and walked courageously up to him while he studied her movement.
"Do you want my attention on you that badly?"He asked all of a sudden, making her raise her head at his statement.
Why does he make it hard to converse with him because he’s always cocky and saying nonsense which makes her want to slap the hell out of him.
He’s so full of himself,does he think that just because he’s handsome which gives him the privilege to think that he could make every girl his,always at his beck and call,sadly,she isn’t moved at all by his chicken face.
Then what attracted you to him,you slut?
Her inner bitch attacked that she forgot she was standing and made Zaiden late for work.
"It seems you have nothing reasonable to say. ’’He said, turning to leave but she held him back by holding his hand,stunning him.
How dare she touch him?
She retracted her hand immediately when she understood what she just did"I’m sorry,but I need to talk to you"she finally told him ,as he rolled his eyes at her,checked his wristwatch and then turned back to her.
"You have five minutes"He said looking away from her while clearing his throat,he didn’t see her roll her eyes at him before she started.
"What am I going to do alone in this huge house?,am not allowed to leave because of the reporters"she whined already dreading the thoughts of staying alone when everyone leaves,she’s definitely going to go crazy,he had warned her earlier not to leave without his permission after they were dressed up this morning leaving her short of words on what to do with her life.
This wasn’t how she expected this to be,she didn’t want to be locked here everyday with the excuse of being his wife,no!
That’s too boring and harsh of him to do, at least let her find a job so she could go out and see Sunny,so that the boredness would lessen.
"That’s your problem not mine,whatever it is you choose to do shouldn’t attract the attention of the press, you are now a knight so i expect you to live to your name"He said lastly and left with her calling him but he didn’t look back.
She saw him entering his car, their eyes locking for some seconds before looking away as he drove off to work while she remains here,locked up here just like Rapunzel.
So sad.
