Chapter 137: Chapter ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SEVEN:I Don’t Plan On Dying Without Him.

"Holy shit!"Mary exclaimed, clutching her racing heart and breathing out in a relaxed form when she saw who was seated in the dark dining table.

"You scared the shit out of me"She layed out her complaint to her stepmother, who didn’t leave any comment towards her and that made her inquisitive to know exactly what was wrong.

Most importantly, what is she doing here by this time of the night and why is she drinking?

She had woken up from sleep and was really tasty, taking her lazy ass out of her bed after Zoey was nowhere to be found. She turned the lights in the sitting room on only to find her seated, holding a drink in her hand.

Something was definitely wrong,Mary could sense that.

Walking up to the woman whose hair covered up her face, she knew that the only reason why she was here drinking her ass out was because she was either sad,or maybe had a fight with her dad.

She’s sure the latter was not a good option, because she had seen the way her dad was totally in love with her,so there’s absolutely no way the two would fight.

Was she missing her dad already,it was just a one day trip and here she was drinking her ass to stupor?

Was this love?

She didn’t even come down for dinner, which she doubted that she was back when dinner was served.

After the argument on the first day she arrived,Mary had mellowed down and distanced herself from both stepmom and Dad.

She needed to clear her head about and know exactly where her stand was and what exactly she wanted in life.

Just like her stepmom had advised her to grow up,she’s been trying to coordinate her life but that didn’t include the fact that she was now cool with her.

No!

She took her mother’s place, which she was sure his dad doesn’t even remember if he had a first wife, because honestly speaking, things were different with her.

Being with his new wife had taught her that he really didn’t love her mother, rather,he had to take up responsibility because she was carrying his baby.

She could barely remember how many times they sat down and discussed and laughed so hard at each other’s jokes, just like he always does on a daily basis with his new wife, Isabella.

Although, she didn’t want to believe if he actually got married to her, because there wasn’t any wedding ceremony between the two of them in Paris, aside from the very first time she came to Paris to be introduced to her new mother.

Her mind had always tried not to believe that the two were actually married, but after these few days of staying with them, she gave up.

His dad was in love with the woman, not in love but madly in love, and what pained her mostly about all these was the fact that she was still staying in the same house with the both of them to see their love sick faces every day.

She should be married, yeah to Zaiden but he had clearly shown his dislike for everyone by choosing some orphan over every eligible female in the Country.

His brother was no good at all, like Nathan was clearly the opposite of what she wanted in a man,he’s too disrespectful and rude for her liking.

So,it’s capital No!

During her last conversation with her dad,she had told him about her dislike for him. Well, her dad too was disappointed about Zaiden’s engagement to another lady which had been her fault because she was late in giving out her consent, that she was in any means ready to get married.

Her dad too,was in no way fond of Nathan which had shown on the first day he met him,and she always suspected that he was on no good terms with Nathan’s dad as much as he was with Zaiden’s dad.

But yet,he had gone along to tag her a pair with Nathan.

These days, she found her life to be peaceful because she had actually distanced herself from everyone and focused on herself.

Yeah,it wasn’t selfish for one to think about himself, because her life over the years aside the good education and the pleasure of being rich was boring.

Mary looked at her stepmom, and felt the need to ask of the reasons he was seated with her,but she knew that doing that was like acting as if she cared about her, when it’s boldly written that she’s not a single darm concerned about her.

But as much as she tried, something in her felt bad seeing her this way, or maybe the inquisitive nature in her couldn’t let her mind her business but instead itched to know what exactly was going on.

Maybe asking wasn’t a bad idea, after all she needed something to use against the woman if she wanted her to leave her dad.

"Are you..okay?’’Mary asked, walking up to stand in front of a seat beside the onr she was seated, with her hands tightly holding the bottle.

"Why are you so inquisitive to know exactly what is going on?’’Her question threw Mary off balance, that she couldn’t believe that the woman could see right through her pretence.

Who exactly is she?

Raising her hair up,Mary gasped at the sight in front of her,her mascara stained her pretty face which she tried denying that she wasn’t pretty because of the tears leaking off her swollen eyes.

Was she trying to cry herself to death?

What exactly is going on?

She felt bad already for the woman, her revenge forgotten so soon that she snatched the bottle away from her hold when she wanted to take a drink.

Is she trying to kill herself and blame it on her dad?

Because she’s a living witness that her dad got nothing to do with this,if she’s trying to commit suicide here.

"Give it back,Mary ’’Mrs Brown said in a low voice which Mary barely heard, but she knew she was referring to the drink which she took away from her.

Give it back to her Mary, the bitch wants to die.

Mary’s conscience was at war, since she was originally planning to kill herself by drinking to death, why did she stop her?

Mary threw those thoughts aside, this was the best time to get something out of her, when she’s at her lowest if she needed her alibi,so killing herself when she’s in the house was not any good idea.

The knights were already in a hot situation for the murder that happened, so,she didn’t want the paparazzi hot on their tails anytime soon, she doesn’t need that stress not now,not ever.

"Did you guys break up?"Mary asked, the first word that she could think of could be the reason for why she’s like this.

Duh!people can act stupid when they are inlove,so,she’s not wrong for asking this question.

Who knows? the two might have broken.

Mrs.Briwn chuckled at her question and at the foolish Mary who was trying to get her to talk about herself.

Honestly speaking, she admired Mary, she’s only trying to save her dad from the woman who she thinks was not right for him.

A daughter saving his dad,but she had let her own child down, she had let her down by staying in Paris all these years without any knowledge or without having any second thoughts of her daughter dying.

She’s such a bad mother, she doesn’t deserve to be called one.

So,why won’t Mary act that way towards her? The girl had a good eyesight to see that she wasn’t a good mother, talkmore of being a good wife to his dad.

Wife.

If only she knew.

If only Mary knew the truth about her dad’s relationship with her, then maybe she would stop being too worked up about this whole new stepmom of a thing which was making her seem like a bad daughter Infront of her dad’s eyes.

But it was not in her place to tell her the truth, that’s James duty as her dad which she’s not going to intrude into the daughter and father relationship by doing that instead of him.

What she needed now, was to be focused on how to be able to convince Ethan that she was in no way responsible for all these that were happening in their life and also how to make Antonio pay.

His weakness.

She needed to know what exactly and where exactly if she strikes back would get him all worked up.

Bit she couldn’t put any exact clue about what his weakness was,for crying out loud, she has always been his weakness starting from day one when she got married to him.

Those memories were still intact, those sweet precious memories which she had come to hate.

They were merely lies.

Lies which still hurt her whenever she thinks back to those times they were good.

He’s such a sweet talker, who promised her heaven anf earth when they were still together.

Her head hurts.

Touching her temple, she sighed ignoring Mary’s question which was only a strategy she put up to get her talking about what bothered her.

Gee,thanks! But Mary was not the best option for a talking partner right now.

Standing up from the seat, and taking her phone she staggered but Mary was fast in helping her.

"Why did you drink if you couldn’t hold it?’’Mary whined in concern which made her smile.

As much as Mary was acting like she hated her,she didn’t, she’s just confused.

"Yeah,I should have a strong drinking tendency like yours,"She smiled.

"You need to rest,I don’t know what exactly happened between you two but you can’t die in this house"Mary said, the last sentence made her stepmom laugh hard.

"Are you worried about me?’’She asked,as Mary helped her to the front of her room, tugging the door open as she pulled away from her and fell face flat on the bed, before turning to look at Mary.

"What?"Mary asked with raised eyebrows, trying to hide her annoyance that she was clearly doing the opposite of what she planned on doing with her initially.

"You such a good girl you know that right?"Isabella commented, for the very first time, that Mary hid the blush creeping up her face by rolling her eyes at her words.

"Yeah, I know but don’t die here"She spat, turning to leave the room and the woman who was starting to change her into something else.

She stopped when she heard her call her name,"what?"

"Don’t worry,I don’t plan on dying without him"She said lastly, and passed out before Mary could ask her what exactly she meant by those worse.

This has been the reason she didn’t like her. She always seems to stop their conversations by leaving words that always seem to make her crack her brain to know what they always meant.

She’s hiding something, beneath that pretty face, she just knew.

Who exactly are you Isabella Brown?
