"Nathan!"
The warm concerned voice of his dad was what brought him, out of his trance as he looked at him.
"What?"He asked,his breathing going erratic,while looking at the concerned face of his dad and mother.
"Are you okay?’’Ezekiel asked,more like studied him to know exactly what was going on with him.
"Yeah,I’m okay"He said,his breathing going back to normal when he looked back towards the stairs, to see that Hazel wasn’t there.
He was only hallucinating.

"You look like someone who just saw a ghost,"Ezekiel added,as his words seem to do something to Nathan because he looked at his uncle to know exactly if he had supernatural powers that could read his mind.
How does he know that he was daydreaming about Hazel?
What made it much worse, was in front of everyone and also he got actually scared for something which was nothing but his mere imagination.
He had actually thought Hazel was here,he was scared when she called him a murderer Infront of the family members,that he was too scared to even think of pretending that he didn’t knew what she was saying.
What the fuck has she done to you Nathan?the bitch is messing with your brain.
Was he this scared or was it because the accusation was coming directly from her?
He had been courageous when driving back home and was prepared for anything they had coming his way,but this little act which he just displayed was enough for him to know that he might actually lose his guard if she appeared.
The once thought of her seeing his face that night crossed his mind,what if she actually saw him?

He advised himself as Sophia walked up to him, scanning him from head to toe to notice that something was wrong with her son.
Ignoring Ezekiel and his manipulative tactics to get anything out of her son,she turned to Grandpa.
"He needs to rest. ’’She said, demanding permission from the old man because it seemed he wanted to have a one on one talk,with Nathan.
But she didn’t want that,not now when he’s still traumatized over the allegation that he was the one who might he the murderer.
"Meet me afterwards Nathan,we have a lot to discuss"Grandpa said,leaving the crew with the chief of staff following behind but not without noticing the look which Elijah wore on his face towards his dad.
"Okay grandpa,"Nathan said,bowing to the old man.
"So,I prepared your favourite when i heard you were suppose to be back today"Sophia cheerfully told him,rubbing her hand in delight that her son was finally back home.
How she missed him!
"Aren’t you supposed to be asking about Hazel?"Ezekeil intruded on their conversation as everyone’s head was raised towards him.
There was no need trying to ask who he referred the question to, because it was no one else but his son’s rival,Nathan.
Elijah’s phone chose that moment to ring and it seems the caller was someone important, because he glared at his brother before leaving them all behind to take the call.
"Excuse me?"Nathan asked,not quite getting what his uncle was trying to insinuate.
"For someone who’s worried about her,I’m quite surprised you haven’t asked of her yet or haven’t you heard the news?"
"What news?"Nathan feigned ignorance,and pretended he didn’t know what his uncle was talking about.
"Stop it"Sophia calmly said,looking at Ezekiel,she knew too well not to raise her voice at him. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
He was the very first son of this family, and can have her ass dealt with if she speaks in a not so good way to him.
It hurts her every time she has to remember this, because had it been be wasn’t,she could have questioned him thoroughly for what he’s trying to do.
It’s already annoying that her son had a thing for his daughter in-law and she was happy,he didn’t mention anything concerning her since he came here.
But her smiles didn’t last long, because her ever-noisy brother inlaw was trying to get her son involved with that girl.
It won’t be a bad idea adding his name to the list of people she had to take care of, because seriously speaking, Ezekiel was getting on her nerves and pray tell,she wouldn’t know when she’s going to lose it.
"It has nothing to do with you, don’t listen to him son"Sophia advised,dragging him to leave but he put a hold on her hand.
"Mother stop,did something happen? Was that why i got that message,what exactly is going on?"Nathan asked,such a good actor.
Sophia was baffled,staring at her son in total amazement,the way he composed himself and was asking his uncle about Hazel as if he wasn’t the one who was reportedly accused of running both Hazel and Zaiden over.
She wondered who exactly he took after, because there’s definitely no way he took after his father.
Her son was just the typical replica of her,that she wondered if he too would turn out the same like her?
If he actually killed Zaiden that night,would he have eaten him up too?
Nathan was gradually turning into her,which he doesn’t know yet,the same anger which had driven her to make everyone scared by killing the guard was what runned through Nathan’s vein that made him want to kill Zaiden.
Which was stupid of him to do because he didn’t want to kill Hazel too,rather he likes the bitch.
Had he actually thought of the fault that if eventually he did kill Zaiden,did he think that Hazel wouldn’t see him?
Did Hazel see him that night?
The question crossed her mind immediately, that she wanted to ask but restrained from doing so when she noticed their enemy was still in their midst.
"Hazel was attacked last night by some total stranger"Ezekiel broke the news to him,his mind still confused as to whether Nathan was truly the one who did it.
Because the concerned look on his face was for the first time genuine,he knew that look,it had nothing to do with him pretending,he was actually worried.
"Is she hurt?’’Nathan found himself asking, because as much as he wanted to go and see her for himself,he didn’t think it was a good idea doing that. He wasn’t himself.
He may lose it infront of her,if actually she did get hurt yesterday.
He was regretting it already.
Yeah,that wasn’t meant for her,whatever he tried to do was only for their benefit.
Removing Zaiden out of the picture, because there’s no way she would look at him if Zaiden’s still here.
He’s just trying to protect what belongs to him,Hazel belongs to him.For crying out loud,this was an arranged marriage and there’s absolutely no way she was in love with the man who made her life a living hell.
He’s no saint,but at least,he didn’t hurt her.
Zaiden hurt her,but she still found him lovable to think of saving his ass and getting hit instead,such a foolish female!
If he was in that position,would she put her life in danger to save him?
Nathan wanted to know what it would feel like to be loved,and who he needed to experience that with,was Hazel.
He didn’t know exactly when it had happened,how the feelings grew,even when she had openly shown her dislike for him,but yet,he still wanted her.
Even though she’s the number one target on his mother’s list,he still wants her and there’s no way his mother would think of killing her because he likes her.
He won’t let his mother kill Hazel,not now,maybe after he gets to know the reason why he seems affected by her,after he gets to know why he likes her,she may kill her.
After all the bitch,didnt like him,she loved Zaiden, but that would change soon.
Ezekiel’s phone rang that moment,looking at the curious Nathan,he was amused,he was seriously concerned about her.
This was dangerous.

Zaiden would stop at nothing to make sure Hazel likes him, likewise Nathan,who was going against his parents wish by liking Hazel too.
"Why don’t you check that out yourself?"He said lastly,taking his phone out leaving the mother and son.
"You need to stop Nathan ’’Sophia warned lightly, because she didn’t want to lose it too with her precious baby.
"What are you talking about? stop what?"Nathan looked at his mother and noticed something changing in her eyes.
Did she take her drugs today?
"Hazel,she’s our enemy,"Sophia admitted.
"No,she’s not,"Nathan denied.
He didn’t want to believe his mother,all his life he had always been told what to do by both her and his dad, without caring about what he really wanted.
He wants Hazel.Not even his mother would be able to change his mind about this.
"Are you challenging me?"Sophia asked with raised eyebrows,she was sick and tired of trying to convince him to listen to her.
"Mom,that’s not it"
"Then what Nathan?"
"I.."He didn’t know exactly how to explain to his mother, because she’s not going to listen anyway.
"You what?"
"I like her"He declared,as Sophia shook her head in disbelief"I like her okay"
Her son was looking at her,and declaring his affection for that girl,Great!
No one was taking him away from her,not even Hazel.
Smirking,she touched his shoulder only to whisper to him.
"Then I’m afraid you have a bad love story coming your way, Nathaniel Knights"
Leaving before he could say anything else,since he has made a decision for himself,he should be prepared to face the consequences of his actions.
Hazel,would be a long story he would tell after she’s done with everyone here.
A battle line has been drawn!
