Grandpa sat down,with his eyes fixed concentrated on Nothing,he was in thoughts.

Pain and anger formed in his heart,when he watched the precious grandson of his accuse him of planning any retribution against his fianceè.

Why would he do that?

Not only had he proven to Hazel,he also proved that to everyone and both publicly that she was welcomed in the family.

But his grandson had suspected him, because of his refusal to join him in his madness that Nathan was the one who wanted to run them over.

Nathan wouldn’t do that,he didn’t train him to be that way,Elijah was the only person crazy enough to do that and not his grandson.

Although Nathan had some issues, while growing up which were the reasons why he was sent away for his mental health and education,that doesn’t justify that he would think of killing both his brother and fianceè.

Yes,he had threatened Zaiden right in front of them, which his father too was astonished and too bewildered after finding out that his son was interested in Hazel.

If Nathan was the one who wanted him dead,he wouldn’t have openly threatened him in front of the family, because he knew that doing that would only make him the number one suspect,which he is now.

But regardless of him denying the fact that he was the one that did it,he knew that Zaiden was uncontrollable whenever he’s angry,and seeing that he’s now addicted and madly in love with Hazel was making things more complicated.

He had in mind that Nathan was the clear suspect but he had no proof,but that wouldn’t stop him looking for one.He knew Zaiden, he won’t rest until the case is solved and the criminal is being taken to justice.

Seeing the determination in his eyes, he was sure if Nathan was truly the one who did it,he was going to report him to the cops,doing that would only add more to their problem.

Because not only had the citizens, forgotten about about the murder case in the family,he knew there was no way prole would stop talking about this.

About how the grandson’s of the Knights are fighting over a lady,it’s going to be a huge blow on his face and also a problem to the company.

This was his mistake,it was his fault, everything happening now regardless of Nathan been the murderer or not.

He made a terrible mistake that’s now affecting him and his children,Elijah was not backing down until he got what he wanted,which was the company.

He knew all he’s doing,how he got the shareholders to his side to get their attention on him,whatever it was that’s affecting Nathan was all because of his dad.

Was it a huge mistake taking him away from his mother? He knew there was no way his father would allow any blood of his outside,regardless of him being an illegitimate child.

Come to think of it,he hadn’t seen much of her either,but that was not business,he could care less if she was the one lying in that sick bed instead of Hazel.

The cops would be coming today, in he afternoon to interview everyone about the murder,and with how Zaiden was behaving he could tip them off about yesterday’s event which he doesn’t want them to know now.

He needed to get down there before they arrived,he couldn’t trust his son to keep his mouth shut even after he told him he got things under control.

Ezekiel was taking much time on the task he was assigned likewise the chief of staff,he needed proof.

His room door opened and in walked Ezekiel and the chief of staff,he was the only person he trusted right now around the household seeing that Elijah had his men here.

"Dad,you know too well Zaiden is not going to wait for you and this big idea of having things under control if nothing has been done about this?"Ezekiel said he knew his son too well, to know he was not the patient type, coupled with when it has to do with Hazel,he’s not going to listen to anyone and the exchange of words he had with him earlier was clear evidence that Zaiden was spoiling their plan.

"Let him do as he wants,he should know too well that whosoever is behind this recent happenings wouldn’t let him find proof easily,all he needs right now id to trust me"Old man Williams said, adjusting his spectacles before looking at Ezekiel and the chief of staff"But I guess i’m now a suspect too"

"He didn’t meant that,he was just angry that Hazel is the one who was lying there instead of him,I heard she pushed him aside to take the shot instead.

"It’s not bravery,that’s stupidity,she knew someone was after her yet she had to push Zaiden aside who wanted to protect her"Ezekiel said,he was even more angry at Hazel for trying to kill herself and blame it on his son."Zaiden had everything under control,because he knew whosoever that was in that car didn’t want him but Hazel"

"The damage has been done already Ezekiel,the least we could do is to make sure it doesn’t occur again.What about the cctv at the scene?"Old man Williams cautioned Ezekiel’s perception of what Hazel did,before turning to the other man.

"It was altered,just like the one here,there was no trace of yesterday’s event on it,I confirmed that. The clip at the time of the incident yesterday was deleted"The head of staff said.

"Which means the murderer and the person who nearly ran Hazel over are the same person’s"Ezekiel said,as his father nodded his head.

Wow! They were now harbouring a criminal,just like the rumours said.

Because there was no way, any normal person could drive into the estate late at night without the guard stationed at his post knowing that someone, who didn’t live here, came in.

It was definitely someone among them, there’s no need trying to look for further proof.

"Nathan? Is he back?’’the old man asked, rubbing his hand together, whosoever that was behind this was definitely from his circle,but the question was who?

"He’s not yet back home,he knows the cops are coming over today so there’s no need of him trying to hide"

"There’s no need of him hiding because it’s not him"Grandpa defended as Ezekiel watched him though with confusion written on his features."Why won’t it be him? He’s not been at home since last night that’s because he’s guilty for what he did"

"Besides,we both were present when he threatened Zaiden"

"But yet you don’t have the proof yet that it’s him,that’s the point Ezekiel!"Grandpa said, hitting his hand on the table,he was sick and tired of this already.

"Dad?"

"You just don’t understand do you?What if it is someone else,who’s trying to make you all believe it was him,while planning on another attack,think Ezekiel!"

"What do you mean?"Ezekiel couldn’t understand his point.

"Nathan wouldn’t have openly threatened Zaiden infront of us,if he was planning on killing him,that’s just like telling us he’s the one who did it outrightly"Grandpa corrected him,leaving him quiet for a while as he too was seeing some sense into what he said.

Nathan wouldn’t be too foolish to do that,but if it wasn’t Nathan who was it?

Zaiden has strongly insisted that it was him because if it wasn’t him,the murderer won’t have spared Hazel since she’s the one who he wanted in the first place.

"I noticed something strange with the guard stationed at the cctv room,he handed in his resignation letter to his colleagues which i received this morning,upon my investigation as to why he suddenly resigned,no one was able to tell the reason why"Head of staff said, bringing out the letter to give to grandpa.

"Did he make any specific reason for his sudden resignation?"Ezekiel asked,taking the letter from Grandpa to tore it open.

"He wrote he found a new better paying job"

"That’s bullshit! Someone threatened him that’s the case here,none of our employees has ever handed in a resignanation using this as a reason"Ezekiel said, crushing the paper in his hands,that’s until they heard someone’s footstep outside the door,which halted before running when he noticed no one was talking anymore.

The chief of staff rushed and opened the door and found the hallway empty. Someone was eavesdropping on their conversation, turning to look on the floor, he noticed some water droplets on the floor of the door.

"Who is it?"Ezekeil asked.

"No sign of anyone"He said, closing it,before walking up to the two.

"Seems we are being watched,keep your eyes open for any slightest sign on anyone,like the cops said, everyone is a suspect,you just can’t tell how close they are to you"Grandpa said as a knock was heard on the door.

"Who is that?"Ezekiel asked,moving along to open the door,Ma Lee was the one.

"Sorry to interrupt on your discussion,the investigators are downstairs"
