All he wanted was for her to tell him what she’s been hiding,which was impossible,it’s hard to open up after bottling everything inside for a long time.
Because she’s starting to be happy,telling him that she was going to die in eight months time was already a mood spoiler, because he would start seeing her differently.
That’s what she didn’t want,she didn’t want the pity that would be on his face once he finds out about her sickness,so it’s for the best that she didn’t tell him.
They were walking home,but with him in front while she was taking her steps slowly because she didn’t want to see his face,walking back home with him was already hurting because she knew that things are not going to be the same again.

He knew that she was hiding something from him and she had ended up making his assumption right,by acting out of her self when he asked her that question back there.
That was going to be the problem that she was going to avoid falling into,Zaiden was smart and won’t sit idly while waiting for her to open up to him about what she was hiding.
The fact that she knew to what extends he would go to find out what she was hiding bothered her,not that anyone aside from her and the doctor knew her secret,but he don’t stoop too low to go against her wish and have her investigated right?

Well,after walking these few minutes with the both of them not talking to each other,gave him the idea that she was feeling bad about earlier when he was the one at fault,it wasn’t really in his place to start demanding things from her as if they were friends when she’s trying to open up to him.
So yeah,he felt bad.
"It’s okay,I’m good"She said,tilting her head up to look into his eyes that bore guilt for what he did.
Surprisingly,he was good at displaying his feelings to her,was it the fact that he was now interested in her that made him start acting like a normal human being?

"No I’m not,I’m just ..’’He said while stroking her hand affectionately,and staring at her,Hazel hung her head low.
She’s had enough of him tempting her to do as her body wanted, and was praying for this to be over,so that she could go home,away from this temptation.

"What is that?’’Hazel asked him when she couldn’t look at whoever it was that was focusing the light of his car on them.
The brightness made it impossible for the two to make out who the foolish human being was.
"I don’t know,"Zaiden said,looking at the direction where the car was facing,through his peripheral view and hearing the start of the car racing to them with full force.
"Get away from the road"He said to Hazel who didn’t hear him, or she didn’t understand what danger they were in the moment the car started moving at a high speed towards them.
"Run!"Zaiden yelled,taking her hand in his as they started running away from the car,but who were they kidding?
They could never outrun a car.
Zaiden stopped in his tracks after something clinched him, surprising Hazel who turned to look at him with questioning eyes.
"What are you doing?"
"Stay back"Zaiden said lightly , untangling his hands from her,while she still looked at him as if he was crazy.
Yeah definitely crazy to think he could act as Captain America and stop a moving car by just standing there when a full speeding car is aiming for him.
"Zaiden!"She yelled,when the car was getting closer.
"Stay back,I know what I’m doing"He lectured when he was on the brink of death,a psycho was on the loose to run him over and he was saying he got everything under control.
"Who is it? Nathan?’’Zaiden thought,clenching his fist tightly,while staying in the same position in front of the moving car.
Was it him?or the murderer?
If it was Nathan,he won’t kill him right?
The lights of the car were still on so it made it impossible to see it clearly. As it approached him,he closed his eyes when his eyes couldn’t withstand the sharp lights anymore.
It’s getting closer.
Then he heard Hazel shout before he was pushed to the ground,he heard something hit the ground hard,before the racing of the car away from them.
He opened his eyes with a groan escaping his lips when he felt his ribs ache a bit,and that was when he didn’t see Hazel where he left her,turning to his left,he saw her on the ground with a bleeding forehead.
"No no no!’’He mumbled,moving over to cradle her to his chest,"wake up!Help!’’He yelled at the empty road,his trembling hand moved up to her nostril to find her still breathing,but faintly.
"I’m so sorry,I should have listened to you,Help!"He yelled the second time,carrying her up when it dawned on him that they were alone.
He was not with his phone either to call for an ambulance.
Someone just tried to kill him,not just him, but Hazel too.
A psychopath was on the loose,an insane one at that.
"Don’t leave me Hazel"He cried.
