30 Days of Passion and Revenge-Chapter 75: Unyielding Love
The larger-bodied Samoyed obediently sat down on the ground, raising its right paw and bending it at her, its cute face a bit naive. Lily put her hand out and shook it, and the Samoyed immediately stuck out its tongue and licked at the back of her hand.
"Ah..." The lick tickled Lily, and she cried softly as she busily shrunk her hand back.
"Don’t be afraid; Bobi is showing you kindness." Alex couldn’t help but laugh in a low voice when he saw her reaction, even his eyebrows stretching out. The melodious voice struck her heart like the black-and-white keys on a piano.
Lily gazed at Alex’s face for two seconds, quickly returning to her mind. She looked at the Samoyed sitting there obediently and raised her eyes to ask, "Its name is Bobi?"
"Uh-huh." Alex kneeled on one knee, stroked his palm over Bobi’s fur, and said softly, "Bobi is the fourth generation, and the previous three generations of Samoyeds all passed away for other reasons. Fortunately, Bobi waited for you."
Fortunately, Bobi waited for you as if she understood Alex’s words: "Luckily, I finally waited for you." Lily’s heart pounded hard. He had raised four generations of Samoyeds so that one day she could find her and come to show her. Why did he have to do so much for her?
Lily raised her hand and stroked Bobi’s head, calling its name in a raw voice, "Bobi." Bobi immediately and pleasingly licked at her hand, reminding Lily that she did not shrink her hand again, endured the itch, and let it lick.
"Let’s go, I’ll show you something else." Alex stood up and pushed her inside, and Bobi immediately followed them inside, rushing into a large room even faster than them.
"You’re the one who’s resourceful." Alex laughed as he stepped forward and patted Bobi’s head lightly.
Lily sat in her wheelchair. The room was a checkroom, and the entire wall was made into a floor-to-ceiling mirror, clearly reflecting the two of them and the dog. Bobi is a brilliant dog, running to a cabinet with a fat body to push open the cabinet door. The whole row of princess dresses in the cabinet came into her sight.
Puffy princess dresses are in different colors and sizes, some in various styles. Some of them looked like princess dresses that she had worn only in junior high school, and even the styles were a few of the outdated styles that were only available back then. How long ago did he start collecting these princess dresses?
Alex selected a light pink, playful princess dress from the cabinet. The hemline was pleated and slightly puffed, and the dress was designed in a one-shoulder style to complement a cute and dainty look.
"This is something I saw in a shopping mall last year," Alex said, glancing at her slim figure, his smile somewhat pardoning. "This size is big; the other sizes are in the other room. I’ll bring it to you in a moment."
Lily was slightly stunned, "You bought many sizes?"
The bottom of Alex’s eyes flashed with bitterness, "Because so many years have passed, I don’t know how tall you’ve grown, whether you’ve grown fat or thin." So whenever he saw a princess dress, he bought all the sizes collectively. That way, when he waited until he found her, there would always be someone who would fit her.
"Right, there’s also a pair of shoes." Alex pulled a pair of lace-up, crystal-studded high-heeled sandals from the shoe cabinet and said, "This is a princess shoe that Mina designed when I went to Milan." I bought out the copyright; it’s unique in the world."
"..." Lily looked dumbfounded, no longer knowing what to say.
Alex kneeled on one knee before her and lifted her uninjured foot to put it into the princess-style sandal. Although her foot was small, putting it in immediately made the sandal look big.
"Looks like I guessed wrong again." The smile on Alex’s lips was bitter as hell, "I’ll call Mina and ask her to help me make another pair out."
Lily remained silent, gazing down at the slightly oversized sandals on her feet as tears began to fall again. Why was he doing this for her? Had Alex been insisting ever since she left? Knowing her love for being treated like a princess since childhood, he had bought everything fit for a little princess. But she wasn’t a princess anymore.
"When buying things, I have been guessing, Lily, now how tall and heavy shoes are, wear a few sizes of..." Alex, holding a sandal in his hand, a pair of eyes dull, "It turns out... I guessed it all wrong."
Lily’s tears suddenly fell even more violently. Yes, he had guessed it all wrong. She was no longer a princess, not the one her mom and dad had pampered.
Not anymore. Lily was only worth a little bit of his time.
"Enough!" Lily suddenly said, her voice choked with sobs.
"What’s wrong, Lily?" Alex was surprised to see her crying tears and raised his hand to try to caress her face and wipe her tears.
Lily was busy inclining her head, not letting him touch it. "That’s enough, Alex." Lily sat in her wheelchair and looked at him with blurred tears, her choked voice somewhat merciless, "Can you stop doing this?"
"Lily?"
"Don’t buy these things in the future; I don’t like them anymore, I don’t like them! I’m asking you to please stop doing these pointless things in the future, okay?!" Lily wanted to speak louder to make herself appear more indifferent, but the louder she spoke, the more she cried. The tears fell uncontrollably.
Alex looked at her with dismay. The hurt in the bottom of his eyes was evident. His hand was still holding one of the world’s unique princess sandals. His usual gentle voice was a bit dull. "I thought you would like it. I also bought a lot. There is a big princess bed upstairs in the bedroom. The window is facing the sea. I’ll take you to see it, okay?"
Alex said curtly as if he wanted to try his best to fix their relationship. He stood up to push her away.
Lily was busy controlling the wheelchair to fall backward, crying and shaking her head repeatedly, "I don’t want to see, I don’t want to see."
"Lily..."
"I don’t like it, I don’t like anything, don’t you ever do that again!"
After Lily finished speaking vehemently, she turned her wheelchair towards the door. Before she reached the door, Alex hugged her from behind. He leaned down and circled his hands tightly around her back, holding her tightly as if he were afraid she would disappear.
"You don’t like these anymore, I’ll repurchase them, okay? What do you like? I’ll take you to buy it until you’re satisfied, okay? Lily, okay?" Alex eagerly whispered in her ear. It was already close to begging.
He was the only son of the Carter family, the noble son in the eyes of others, but at this moment, he was talking to her in such a low voice to please her. She Lily is not worthy. From head to toe, she is not worthy.
"Lily resisted the temptation to say more cold-blooded and heartless words, but as she spoke, her voice trembled. "Don’t be like this anymore. Don’t be nice to me anymore," she said.
Lily wanted to say cold-blooded and heartless words again, but as soon as they left her mouth, they changed, her voice trembling outrageously. "Don’t you do this anymore; don’t be nice to me anymore." She didn’t deserve him to be so nice to her at all. He wasn’t even worth the heart he put into her. She was just a dirty mistress. How could she still be a princess?
"Lily!" Alex wrapped his arms around her shoulders from behind, murmuring apologies in a low voice. "Don’t cry, Lily. It’s my fault. I didn’t know that your preferences had changed so much. I’ll remember that in the future. I’ll remember it all, okay? Don’t cry."
Tears flowed endlessly across her cheeks. "Don’t you ever be nice to me again, Alex? Don’t ever do this again." Her voice had trembled out of tune.
"I just want us to return to being like when we were kids. Lily, will you stop rejecting me?"
She wasn’t rejecting him; it was that she couldn’t afford to be nice to him. As a child, she was used to his favor because she was much cleaner then than she is now. She was qualified to stand beside him, let him spoil and protect her. But now everything is different.
Alex walked to her and bent down. His hands cupped her face and wiped away her tears little by little. Lily looked at his face with tears, still as handsome and beautiful. The four eyes were facing each other. She cried sadly. The water of the captivating bright washed a pair of eyes. She was the Lily he had missed for nine years.
For the past nine years, he has relentlessly bought all of her favorite things. Whenever he looks at them, he can feel that Lily is still beside him. She has never really left. In those nine years, she has grown into a beautiful woman. Her features are refined and pure, she is less spoiled and arrogant than in her youth, and her tear-stained lips are beautiful.
Four eyes met. Alex held her face, lowered his head, closed his eyes, and kissed her lips. Lily was utterly dumbfounded. The moment he kissed down, the scene where he wrapped his arms around Alice Johnson and embraced her in the elevator surfaced in front of her eyes.
"Don’t!" Lily said violently, Alex’s lips almost pressed against hers. She saw his long eyelashes tremble slightly and pale.
Alex slowly opened his eyes; his hand still cupped her soft cheeks and didn’t put them down, and he couldn’t let go if there hadn’t been these nine years. Lily would have been his, his alone, completely.
