30 Days of Passion and Revenge-Chapter 112: The Price of Betrayal
A thin stream of blood slowly trickled down Ethan’s forehead...
Three days had passed. Lily had been confined to this presidential suite for three days.
From the moment she woke up on the cold floor, she realized that Ethan had come to hate her completely, unlike at any other time.
Her entire world was reduced to this presidential suite.
All the windows were covered with wire mesh, so she couldn’t even end her life if she wanted to.
She had no change of clothes, so she was forced to wear only the dress she had changed into at the Carter residence or the bathrobe and nightgown provided in the suite—nothing else.
At mealtime, Cipher would bring in a box of food.
The meals were a mix of random dishes, including spicy food.
Lily knew she was imprisoned again, but this time, it was different—it was a complete and total imprisonment.
At first, she thought that refusing to eat might get her to meet with Ethan, but Cipher and the others didn’t care. They left the food in the room and didn’t glance at her. No one came to clean the suite either.
Like the spicy food in the meal boxes, Ethan didn’t care whether she had a stomach condition or whether she could eat it.
In these three days, Ethan had yet to show up even once.
Whether she starved to death or not didn’t matter to him anymore.
But she had to live. She couldn’t be broken so quickly—this wasn’t the end of her life.
Her legs and chest were still bruised from Ethan’s harsh treatment. When he hit, he never held back, his brutality shocking.
The door opened, and Cipher, wearing sunglasses and expressionless, walked in, placing down another meal before turning to leave.
"I want to see Ethan," Lily said, standing up from the sofa.
She couldn’t stay locked up like this anymore.
She had to see her father. She didn’t even know when he would be released from prison. She couldn’t be trapped here indefinitely.
"Mr. Blackwood doesn’t want to see you."
With that, Cipher left, slamming the door shut behind him.
Lily stared at the closed door, unsure of what to feel. This was the inevitable outcome, something she should have expected when she started writing the articles to ease Carter Group’s crisis...
She should have known it would end like this.
Things were turning out better than she had expected. Ethan wasn’t torturing her; he was simply letting her rot in this room, leaving her to fend for herself.
She opened the meal box again—another spicy meal filled with bright red chili peppers.
She had become spoiled by the medicinal meals prepared by the Blackwood family, and her stomach had grown more delicate as a result. Any slightly stimulating food now made her feel unwell. Dr. Joel said this was only temporary; as long as she continued her treatment, she would eventually be able to eat anything again...
Continue treatment?
How can I continue treatment now?
If she didn’t eat, she would starve to death here.
She picked up a piece of white rice with her chopsticks, noticing the "30-Day Anniversary Hotel" logo printed on them. Her nose suddenly stung with emotion.
Anniversary...
The 30th day of being with him had become the day they completely broke apart.
"Bang—"
The door suddenly swung open, and Cipher rushed in, holding a packet of instant noodles and a bag of ingredients. "Miss Lily, please cook these noodles."
"Cook noodles?" Lily was stunned. Was this some extra meal?
"Yes. Once the noodles are ready, I’ll take them," Cipher said coldly.
Take them?
What does that mean?
Lily glanced toward the door in confusion, and there she saw Nanny standing just outside. She immediately called out, "Nanny!"
But Nanny quickly retreated as if Lily were something poisonous.
"Miss Lily, please cook the noodles!"
Cipher’s tone was emotionless.
"I want to see Nanny."
Why do they suddenly want me to cook noodles? It was strange.
"Mr. Blackwood doesn’t want you to see anyone," Cipher said, tossing the ingredients and instant noodles onto the counter. His voice was cold. "Miss Anderson, don’t make this difficult for me."
"Miss Anderson, please don’t cause trouble. Just cook the noodles," Cipher said, his expression indifferent.
"My leg is injured. I need to see a doctor!"
"Mr. Blackwood’s orders were clear—unless you’re on the verge of death, there’s no need to see a doctor."
Ethan’s cruelty has reached this point?
Lily struggled to her feet, limping as she stood. Her voice was cold. "Then I won’t cook."
"Miss Anderson, why make things harder for yourself?" Cipher said.
"Stop hurting Miss Anderson." Nanny suddenly rushed in, her eyes red as she looked at Lily. "Miss Anderson, just cook the noodles, please. I’m begging you... If you don’t, someone will die."
"Die?" Lily asked, bewildered. "What’s going on?"
Could something have happened to Ethan?
Has his rib injury flared up again?!
"Nothing, nothing. Just cook the noodles. Nanny was on the verge of tears.
Lily, still confused, was pushed toward the kitchen.
In the presidential suite’s open-plan kitchen, Nanny and Cipher stood quietly on one side, waiting as Lily mechanically boiled the noodles. She glanced at Nanny. "Nanny, I need to see Ethan."
"Mr. Blackwood doesn’t want to see you."
"If he wants me dead or alive, he should just tell me. What’s the point of keeping me locked up here?!"
Nanny remained silent.
It was as if Lily were talking to the air. Nanny never gave her a clear answer and didn’t respond to any of her questions.
Once the noodles were ready, Nanny quickly packed them up and left.
The presidential suite was once again empty, leaving Lily alone in the hollow space...
She sat by the window, staring through the wire mesh at the street below. The people walking around looked like tiny ants, small and numerous...
Lily toyed with the cartoon tomato in her hand, listening to it repeat the exact phrase repeatedly. Her eyes were dull and lifeless.
Has something happened to Ethan?
What happened?
"Bang—"
The door to the master bedroom was suddenly kicked open, and Ethan’s tall figure leaned against the doorframe. His face was slightly flushed, his short hair disheveled, and his eyes filled with rage. A white bandage was wrapped around his forehead.
"Ethan, what happened to you?"
Lily sat up straight in surprise.
What’s wrong with him?
What happened? Why is his head injured?
"What happened to me? I’m doing just fine," Ethan sneered as he leaned against the door, his voice low and mocking. "I brought you something nice."
"What?" Lily asked in confusion.
A fat, middle-aged man with a lascivious smile stepped out from behind Ethan. His greasy eyes leered at Lily and grinned, "So pure. Is she still a virgin?"
Lily’s face turned pale at his crude words.
Ethan, however, laughed loudly. "Pure? It’s all an act. Deep down, she’s insatiable. I’ve had her plenty of times, and she’s not bad. She’s yours now, John." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Lily stared at Ethan in shock.
What was he saying?
Why was he laughing like that?!
"Thank you, Mr. Blackwood, thank you." The middle-aged man bowed repeatedly, his voice filled with gratitude. "Next time, I’ll send over one of the Russian girls I brought back—they’ll leave you begging for more."
"Sounds good. I’ve never tried a Russian woman before."
Ethan chuckled, his steps unsteady as he walked out the door.
"Hehe." The man closed the door behind him, his eyes gleaming as he turned back to Lily, his tone passionate. "Mr. Blackwood’s taste is impeccable. It’s hard to find girls who look pure on the outside but are wild on the inside.
Realizing what was happening, Lily’s eyes widened in horror. "What are you trying to do?!"
"What do you think, sweetheart? You’ve got a man, a woman, and a bed. What else do you think we’re gonna do?" The man sneered as he slowly approached her.
Lily jumped up from the windowsill in panic. "Don’t come any closer!"
"If I don’t come closer, how are we supposed to have fun?"
"Are you insane?! Who the hell do you think you are? You dare touch Ethan Blackwood’s woman!" Lily, terrified, grabbed a pillow from the windowsill and threw it at him. "You pervert! If you lay a finger on me, Ethan will kill you!"
"Sweetheart... You’ve been watching too many soap operas," the man said, his earlier amusement giving way to irritation as he wiped the pillow off his face. "Men sleeping around with women is normal. Do you think they stay loyal afterward?"
What is Ethan planning?
How could he let this man humiliate me?!
How could he...
"Sweetheart... You must be new to this. Let me teach you the ropes. Come on, be good, come down from there.
The man’s lustful gaze roamed Lily’s body as he approached the windowsill, reaching out to grab her.
"Ah..."
Lily screamed, kicking at him as she tried to fend him off...
The disgusting man was strong despite his size. Amid Lily’s screams, he managed to yank her down from the windowsill, his greasy hands wrapping around her as he tried to pull her in for a kiss...
Lily desperately grabbed the wooden cartoon tomato and smashed it against his forehead.
A large bump immediately formed on the man’s head.
"Stay away! Filthy scum! Pervert! Don’t come near me!"
In the living room, Ethan sat on the leather sofa, downing a glass of alcohol in one gulp. His face was cold and emotionless, and his dark eyes were fixed on the large TV screen.
Lily was running around on the screen, throwing anything she could find at John.
Her face was filled with terror, fear, and despair.
She looked like she was fighting for her life.
She was wearing the hotel robe, and as she struggled, the collar kept opening and closing, which only seemed to excite John even more.
"Bang—"
Ethan slammed the glass down on the coffee table, and Cipher immediately stepped forward to refill it without saying a word.
Ethan picked up the glass and drained it in one gulp, his eyes never leaving the screen.
Lily’s strength was giving out. John, with his heavy frame, had pinned her down on the bed. She was struggling and screaming, trying to avoid his thick, greasy lips.
She had to pay this price for betraying him, for giving him a green hat.
If she were so greedy, he’d gladly let her have more men.
After all, a woman like her was nothing but trash to him now.
And yet, the satisfaction of revenge he had expected didn’t come.
"Ethan Blackwood! You bastard! You can’t do this to me! How could you do this to me? I hate you! Ethan, I hate you!"
Her voice, filled with desperation and heartbreak, echoed through the television as she sobbed, pinned beneath John.
Ethan sat there, staring coldly at the screen, his thin lips pressed into a tight line. His hand gripped the glass so tightly that it looked like it might shatter. Lily’s tear-streaked, devastated face was reflected in his bloodshot eyes, which grew misty.
