Without a second of hesitation, Gu Fan leaped from the fifty-metre-high branch.

He plummeted straight down through the toxic green fog, hurtling toward the clearing like a dark, vengeful meteor. The wind roared past his ears. He gripped the iron chain with both hands, pulling the spiked ball back, aiming directly for the centre of the bear’s skull.

"Die, you ugly fuck!" Gu Fan roared as he dropped.

But the bear was a 6th Stage Spirit Realm beast. Even exhausted, bleeding, and crippled, its spiritual instincts were terrifyingly sharp. It sensed the massive, plunging threat from above.

At the very last millisecond, the beast jerked its massive head to the side.

Gu Fan’s perfect headshot missed.

Instead of crushing the top of its skull, the heavy, spiked iron ball violently smashed directly into the side of the bear’s face.

The impact was devastating. The heavy iron spikes shattered the bear’s jawbone entirely. Massive, blood-stained fangs exploded out of its mouth like shrapnel. The spiked ball dug deep into its cheek, bursting its right eye in a horrifying spray of blood and optic jelly.

The bear roared in blind, excruciating fury. It stumbled backwards because of the impact, but instead o retreating away, it retaliated.

And before Gu Fan could even pull his hammer back, the beast swung its good paw in a furious, blinding backhand.

The massive paw slammed directly into Gu Fan’s chest, and despite his incredibly tough physique, the pure, overwhelming force of a Spirit Realm beast was too much.

Gu Fan was launched sideways like a cannonball. He slammed into the mud, skidding violently for twenty metres, tearing up a deep trench in the dirt before crashing heavily into a tree trunk.
