Chapter 263: Restoration Idea

’Looks like I’ve underestimated the destructive power of Rank 7 Spells. How did that guy even manage to live through something like that?’

Now, Aegon understood better why Samuel was annoyed at their battles. Wildernesses were important, especially ones of such large areas, so he had to have them restored.

On Earth, this would take years or decades. But this was a magical world where anything was possible. Samuel could hire Mages to restore it, but the cost would be immense.

He could have Liliana pay for the costs along with the Songsword Family, but just the thought of dealing with it made him annoyed.

Aegon scratched the back of his head and said, "Then, I’m guessing Xiu also caused a lot of destruction?"

Instead of answering, Samuel just gave him a hard look.

"Right," Aegon understood. "I have a good solution for this."

Samuel raised an eyebrow. "Go on. Your ideas are usually pretty good."

"Elves are pretty good at protecting nature, right?" Aegon smiled and said. "They also have a variety of affinities related to nature, so wouldn’t they be the best for this kind of work?"

Samuel sat up straight and Aegon knew instantly he was tempted.

"Think about it," he continued. "The restoration process will be completed fast and smoothly. Not to mention it’ll also help in creating a good relationship between the Elves and Humans."

He smiled. "Trade is the best way to get the two closer, don’t you think?"

Samuel hesitated for a second, turning towards Elara. "What do you think about it?"

"As an individual, it’s a good idea, Your Majesty," Elara answered calmly. "As the Elf Princess, I think it’ll have many problems. The Elder Council... well, it’s a mix of odd people. But if it does succeed, I think it’ll be a good initiative to create peaceful and healthy bonds between the two races."

"I can vouch for it," Aegon added. "Gonna use the name Grandma gave fully."

"First of all, you can stop calling me Your Majesty when it’s just us," Samuel said as he leaned back. "You’re the lad’s girlfriend, so just call me Grandpa Sam like him."

"Old man still suits you better," Aegon shrugged. "I like it too. Can El call you that?"

"I really should have spanked you in your childhood," Samuel glared at him.

As for Aegon, he just showed his tongue like a kid and looked away. People might call him childish for it, but he couldn’t care less about it.

If he didn’t show his childish side to his elders and friends, who else was he supposed to show it to?

"I’ll call you Grandpa Sam," Elara hurriedly interjected before Samuel could really smack her boyfriend’s head.

She had to say she was impressed by him. Her boyfriend was one of a kind. After all, it took balls of steel to rile up a Nine-Star Mage. Not to mention, he usually did this with two such mages.

Samuel smiled warmly at her. "You’re such a lovely lady. But everyone has flaws. Yours is falling for this scoundrel."

"First of all, that’s rude," Aegon said with a straight face, earning several speechless gazes. "And we’re also going off topic."

Samuel rolled his eyes at him but knew he was right. He stared at Elara and him and said, "I’ll try it then. If it works, then it’ll be a step forward in our good relationship."

"I’m happy for it too," Elara beamed with happiness. "That way, the elders won’t oppose my relationship too."

"Your top ones are one hell of a kind," Cali said from the side. "Who even rejects a Valerian son-in-law? Are they stupid?"

"They are!" Xiu called out amidst her conversation with Liliana. "They’re a unique species of idiots rarely found anywhere."

Elara facepalmed but didn’t say anything.

"When are the others coming anyway?"

Just as Cali said it, a woman having a similar appearance to her but a completely different bearing entered the courtyard. Her face, full of concern, quickly scanned everyone and finally released a heavy sigh.

"Thank the Moon you’re all fine," Luna sighed, but only then did she notice Liliana and Samuel. Her eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly composed herself.

Before she could bow, Samuel’s voice reached her, "Don’t bother. Also, should I make a board outside that says for today I’m just your Grandpa’s friend, not the Emperor?"

She grew a little confused, but remembering how Aegon usually described Samuel, she reached an understanding. At first, she thought Aegon exaggerated things about Samuel, but now that she saw him herself...

"Come here, dear sister! Give your elder sister a hug!" Cali skipped over to her and embraced her in a tight hug.

Already too used to her twin sister’s antics, Luna just sighed and returned her hug as she patted her back too. She said, "I missed you."

"Me too!" Cali released her, then began dragging her towards Aegon and Elara. "Let’s go! Little Gon finally completed his work."

"I know," Luna smiled gently at Aegon and said. "Congratulations! I’m really happy for you."

"Thank you, Sis." Aegon was naturally happy to see her after so long.

"So she’s sis but not me?" Cali pouted.

Luna knocked on her head. "Stop arguing over useless things."

"I still find it funny that Luna is actually younger than Cali," Elara chuckled beside him. "Their personalities give you a completely different idea."

"Her fault!" Cali instantly blamed her. "She acts too mature as if she had aged by decades. I live my life to the fullest."

"As if! Also, what happened here? I was so worried seeing the explosion from the Academy. The whole Academy was wondering what happened and even erected barriers."

The four of them began to chat and laugh together while waiting for the others. Aegon also recounted the story to her, which soured her mood too as she cursed the Songsword Family. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

That certainly came as a surprise as Luna usually was like an elegant and gentle princess. She didn’t act that way; instead, it was simply her nature. So she never really cursed.

But even she was angry at the Songsword Family.

Just as they were discussing things, a portal opened beside them, making the atmosphere warm around them.
