100X Return System: My Talent Awakening Becomes a God-Level Cheat-Chapter 35: Next Action
It was the eighth hour, the sun had gone down and was now replaced with a soft diffused light in the sky, now dusk.
The living room where objects were scattered and messed up to the point of return; in there were two individuals sitting opposite each other, one male and one female.
It was Aegon and test subject 067.
"So you would do as I say, right?" Aegon asked her.
"Yes I will. You saved my life and that’s a debt I can not repay. I will do what you asked."
The lips of Aegon curved into a slight smile after the word left the girl’s lips.
The thing is, for the past hours they had a conversation.
Aegon had asked who she worked for and it was as he expected... Reynold. However, she wasn’t a Farmer but in a league of assassins tasked with different objectives.
The girl had explained to Aegon that she wasn’t the one, or among those who ruined his house, but was only sent to check if the work was done right.
It turns out that Reynold, her master, didn’t trust the works of the people he sent to do the raiding.
They were farmers.
Farmers on the wrong path of life. They evolved and expanded by doing evil deeds, things that are not of the righteous path.
The girl had already explained that she didn’t know much of Reynold’s plan but the little she knew, she shared.
It was the intention of Reynold to do something dangerous and forbidden within the Abyss.
The context was unknown to her but whatever it was, was so powerful that he had been planning it for over six months.
The girl didn’t even know about Aegon’s sister being taken away and was shocked when Aegon told her.
She had said that Reynold had only sent her to check if the house was destroyed as he had ordered it to be.
While she spoke all these, Aegon thought her to be lying because he had seen her in the alley, meaning she had known about his situation.
However, when he asked her about it, she said that she was on top of the building at the time and saw a bright light in the distance.
Curious, she went to look at what it was and while on the ground she saw a human coming out from the lights.
She was curious and stood to watch but after Aegon had looked in her direction, she became embarrassed and also did not want to be seen, so she immediately left.
"I didn’t even know it was you. It’s just, I have never seen anything like that so I was a little curious." was what she said to Aegon.
Another thing he obtained was that in the girl’s group there were ten in numbers; assassins.
Reynold had sent nine to a special mission, but she didn’t know what mission the others went to. Then he sent her to a separate secretive mission.
"He said it was a mission that only I could accomplish..." the girl uttered during this time.
With all the information inside his head, Aegon had thought carefully and analyzed everything.
Reynold was planning something big and catastrophic, perhaps another storm. It could be possible because nobody knew exactly what had caused it.
’I doubt it would be another storm, but it could be something on that level. I heard he’s an A-rank Farmer, which means he has a lot of resources.’
’He took Maureen, and with this his plan...’
Aegon thought for a while, considering the odds of his sister being involved in all these, but he immediately dismissed it.
’No, Maureen doesn’t have any talent. She didn’t awaken during that day and refused to get a F.T.A. She is normal.’
’Perhaps kidnapping her was just for fun?’
The concept entered his head but he instantly dismissed it, because there was no real motive for doing so.
’What exactly is he planning?’ 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
After Aegon had thought about all these, he looked at the girl and decided to use her as his inside man.
"Hey, can you do something for me?" He had asked.
"What is it?" The girl responded while she went to pick up some books on the ground.
"How about you get more information for me? Be my inside man, learn as much of Reynold’s plan and bring them to me."
He had said this on a whim, not knowing how she was going to refuse, however...
"Sure." She replied instantly.
"Wait, what?"
"Yes I will."
Aegon was baffled by her response and wanted to know if she heard him well.
"You do realize what I’m telling you, right?"
At this point, the girl had picked up a certain book which caught her interest. It was the same one that Maureen read often, then she replied.
"I know what you mean. You want me to betray my master and make you my next.".
She said this with a childish and carefree tone as though she knew what she was saying but didn’t give a single care in the world.
Aegon was stunned
"So you would do as I say, right?"
"Yes I will. You saved my life and that’s a debt I can not repay. I will do what you ask."
Although this was her response and it felt like she could be trusted because her life was involved.
However, this didn’t bring Aegon one millimeter to trusting her.
Yes, he had asked her and she agreed, but she was from the enemy territory and a test subject at that.
Who knows exactly what they had done to her?
’I will just let it play on for now. If anything goes wrong I will find another way.’
Aegon thought this in his heart. It wasn’t about to put his hope on something like that, let alone just one, he still needed other alternatives.
After the conversation, Aegon told her to go so that her master wouldn’t be wondering why she was late.
However, it wasn’t as though he would, since it was a mission after all. A mission could take days or even weeks.
Hearing this, the girl dropped the book she was reading and said.
"If I get anything, I will find you and give it to you."
Aegon had already stood up and was about to enter his room when he turned to her and said.
"Can you find me?"
"Yes." the girl replied. "As long as you don’t go into the Abyss and stay within the city I can find you."
"And how would you do that?" Aegon asked, curious, and she responded.
"I have your scent."
Upon hearing this, Aegon didn’t know how he was supposed to feel. It was a bit weird.
’Have my scent?’
"Okay, we’ll go with that."
As the words left his lips, the girl stood up, unzipped her cloak, and raised her shirt.
Aegon was wondering what she was about to do, then he saw her removing the bandage on her body.
"Don’t... what are you doing?..."
Before he could finish talking, she had already completely removed the bandage wrapped around her stomach, and just then Aegon’s eyes were stunned.
’She’s already healed?’
He looked at the girl with a curious expression, but reverted back to his normal expression.
"I can’t carry a bandage back there, can I? I will be caught."
The girl said this with a smile as though it was normal for her, then she wore back her clothes once again. Afterward, she walked towards the door, opened it and after her last words she left.
"See ya."
"__"
A few minutes had already passed since the girl had left the house, and Aegon was in his room.
He didn’t have much since he hadn’t gotten much, but the little he had, he took.
His sister had caught a couple of sets of clothes for him after he returned and with this he had a little.
With this, he changed from the blood stained wear to a more clean and comfortable clothes.
Aegon came out of the room with a bag in his hand as he felt a bit refreshed.
"There’s no way I can stay here again." He mumbled.
"There is no guarantee that they wouldn’t come back here even if she relays the message. I can’t take any chances."
Upon saying this, he looked at his palm and there was only a couple of cash in his hand. A few hundred, enough to take care of a person for a single day.
"I need to find some place to stay for the night. Although I don’t have much, I can trade the dagger for cash if possible and also a few things I got from that place...."
Aegon unzipped the bag he was holding, and brought out three glowing crystals with different lights colors.
Seeing this he smiled and thought inwardly:
’Like hell I would have left there without taking something for myself. And no, it’s not stealing. I’m just compensating myself."
It turned out that these crystals were from the pedestal crystal and he had taken them when the place began to crumble.
"The rest could have been taken, but I didn’t have much time. If I sell this, I should be able to get a good amount of cash, right?"
Aegon kept the crystals back into the bag, zipped it, and placed it over his shoulder, then he left the house for his next action.
