10,000x Reward Multiplier: Hell-level Kingdom Building-Chapter 7: [00] The Crystal Of Authority
The entire funeral ended, but the event revealed a lot of things that even the fragmented memories did not.
Starting with the three unique funeral rites, which were taught to him by the elderly.
Apparently, one needed to be eighteen before they could perform or partake in a funeral, and Floki had only clocked eighteen a few months ago. Otherwise, notwithstanding his status as the chief, he would not be allowed to partake. It was also the reason he had no memories about them.
As for the funeral rites he learnt.
There were namely The Honoured, The Normal, and The Damned.
The Honoured funeral rites were reserved for those who had served the village, mainly providers including hunters and farmers, and protectors including warriors, and the most honourable of them all, the Lord himself.
This involved cremating the body, then digging a deep hole and placing the ashes within it. Afterward, a special seed of a plant known as the singing stalk was placed inside to germinate and grow, serving as a reminder of the one who had just passed.
The Normal rites included simple cremation and nothing else.
The Damned, however, was darker.
The Damned were meant for criminals, both insiders and war captives.
Their bodies would be chopped into six parts, and a group of strong warriors would take them deep into the forest, a place haunted by demonic creatures, where their bodies would be left behind to be devoured.
Floki had always been somewhat interested in cultures and history back on Earth, especially those pertaining to wars and unheard-of practices. As a result, the revelation of these unique rites gladdened his heart.
But that was not his greatest discovery today.
While they were digging the hole to place Viktor’s cremation, he had accidentally stepped on a colony of sugar ants and received a tiny amount of experience points. However, with the infinite reward multiplier, something even more miraculous happened.
He leveled up.
Currently sitting inside his room, he stared at his character status with an amazed expression on his face.

His stats had increased, and he could clearly feel the change.
The minor ache in his hands from the earlier push-ups was completely gone, and a subtle definition had formed along his muscles. Even his body felt lighter than before, translating into quicker and smoother movements.
"I can just kill insects and level up? Why did you not inform me earlier?"
[ Because it was irrelevant. ]
A plain response.
"How is that irrelevant?"
Fortunately, his system did not ignore him and chose to respond.
[ Killing insects can only grant experience points. What host requested was skill points. Also, host should note that lesser animals like the sugar ant you killed would truly become irrelevant later. For example, at your new level, even if you kill a thousand ants, you would gain nothing, not even a kill confirmation notification. ]
Floki studied the explanation carefully, not skipping any details. He needed to understand his system better.
The explanation was valid.
Even in the few novels that he had read back on Earth, only certain main characters with divine luck could simply level up effortlessly by relaxing or doing something as trivial as killing insects.
It turned out he was not as lucky as them.
Still, he had the reward multiplier. More hard work would simply equal more rewards.
With that confusion cleared, he opened his quest window.

The funeral had taken quite a lot of time, especially for him.
He had to personally visit the brothers to notify them of the successful burial, console them, and inform them that their brethren would be avenged. It was his responsibility, after all.
One thing he had learned from being the son of an absent father in his previous life was that a true man never runs from responsibility.
Speaking of responsibility, completing Project Saitama could certainly be counted as one. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
He maintained the push-up position and began exercising again. This time, he was able to complete the remaining forty-seven push-ups with ease.
Afterward, he relaxed to catch his breath. While doing so, he poured all the free points into his stamina, increasing its capacity to twenty.
Then he began exercising once more.
About ten minutes later.

A smile slowly crept onto his face.
He opened his inventory and brought out the Crystal of Authority, which was still in its previous lackluster state.
Then he began the awakening process.
A magical force lifted the orb from his hands as it started to glow with a soft red hue.
The intensity of the glow gradually reduced over five seconds, and then a stronger red light erupted forward. Soon after, the Crystal of Authority reverted back to normal.
