Necromancer Of The Shadows
Chapter 1385: Incarnation Of The END (Part 2)
When Evan had gone to the Maldrith Kingdom to meet the people of the Phoenix Clan, he had killed the king of the kingdom because he was a subordinate of Winterclaw.
To kill him, he had used the third form of the Soul Slayer War Arts: Annihilation.
The power of this attack was so immense that Evan had been unable to control it at that time, and Sylvan had to step forward to stop its momentum.
If it had not been for Sylvan, the attack would have destroyed the entire Maldrith Kingdom—a realm thousands of times larger than planet Earth.
Even though Sylvan had managed to stop the attack from spreading, he had been quite surprised by its power.
Despite Evan’s low rank, the attack had succeeded in damaging the barrier Sylvan had created using his Law power.
To be able to damage a barrier created by a Rank Six Core Evolver while only being a beginner-level Rank Four Core Evolver clearly demonstrated the terrifying nature of the third form of the Soul Slayer War Arts.
However, after using it, Evan had lost control over the power of destruction contained within the Halberd, and he had been seriously injured.
Even Elora, who usually controlled the power inside the Halberd, had lost consciousness at that time, allowing the Halberd’s power to run wild.
Even though the power had gone out of control back then, nothing truly catastrophic had happened because Sylvan had been present, and Evan himself had not been fatally injured.
But this time was different.
When he used the third form again, his power was far beyond what it had been before, and he did not hesitate to pour every last bit of his strength into the Halberd to unleash the Annihilation move.
The moment Evan released the third form, he felt a world-destroying force of destruction brewing inside the Halberd finally find an outlet, bursting out like a raging storm.
As mentioned before, the third form of the Soul Slayer War Arts was originally a single-target attack, not an area-of-effect skill. (Chap—1340)
Moreover, it was meant to target the soul, not the physical body or matter.
But just like last time, Evan once again failed to control its power, and it transformed into a wide-range attack that annihilated everything in its path.
Most of the attack’s power was focused on Eldraker. As such, the moment the Halberd of Destruction struck the dragon, he was only able to let out a despair-filled scream before his soul was completely annihilated by the overwhelming power of destruction.
The Halberd even attempted to destroy Eldraker’s physical body due to the loss of control, but before it could do so, Evan stored the body inside his shadow storage, unwilling to destroy such a valuable resource.
But from that very moment, his nightmare began.
The instant he placed the dragon’s body into his shadow storage, the effect of Death Guardian Authority ended.
All of his stats dropped by five times, and the uncontrollable power of destruction within his body, which had previously been unable to harm him turned into a raging beast.
Evan did not even get the chance to scream in pain before every single one of his internal organs, including his throat, was destroyed.
His eyes burst into a mist of blood, and even from his hollow eye sockets, the power of destruction surged out uncontrollably.
Evan tried to repair his body using his Law power, but he quickly realized that he had poured all of his energy into his final attack and he had nothing left.
He even activated the Rune of Absorption to draw in world essence from the surroundings, but it proved useless.
The power of destruction had annihilated everything in the area—including the world essence itself, and even the very laws of the world.
So, the Rune of Absorption could not replenish his energy.
Evan’s body began to disintegrate piece by piece under the overwhelming force of destruction.
Surprisingly, he did not feel any pain, because his entire nervous system, including his pain receptors had already been destroyed.
’So this is death, huh...’
Evan could not help but form a bitter smile, wondering what kind of mocking expression Azroth would have worn if he had seen him in such a state.
Not to mention, he had ended up like this not because of his enemies, but because of his own inability to control the power within the Halberd.
’To perfectly control such vast destructive power, I would need to be at least a Rank Six Core Evolver.’
What was even more astonishing was that the Halberd Evan currently wielded was only a replica.
The true Halberd of Destruction was still inside the Tomb of the Ancient, waiting for him to retrieve it.
’Just what kind of monstrous power would the third form of the Soul Slayer War Arts unleash if I were to use it with the real Halberd?’
This absurd thought surfaced in Evan’s mind even as more than half of his body had already disintegrated under the force of destruction.
Just as the destructive power continued to spread outward and his body kept breaking apart, the space beside Evan suddenly rippled and a tall figure appeared—a man with two horns on his head and glowing red eyes.
Through his fading vision, Evan saw that Baphomet looked far more haggard than before. His entire body was enveloped in a dense layer of Law power, resisting the spreading force of destruction.
Seeing him still alive, Evan was not surprised as he had never expected to kill a Monarch simply through the uncontrollable power released by his attack.
Although he could not speak due to his condition, that did not stop him from giving the demon monarch a hateful smile, along with a raised middle finger.
Baphomet said nothing in response and simply looked at Evan coldly.
Finding no trace of Eldraker, the demon monarch could already conclude that he had perished.
With his powers sealed, there had been no way for him to survive such an attack.
However, what Baphomet had not expected was that even Evan himself would end up dying because of his own move.
’A lunatic who does not hesitate to sacrifice himself to take down his enemies.’
That was Baphomet’s assessment after witnessing Evan’s condition.
After pondering for a moment, he opened his mouth and was about to speak, but suddenly, his expression changed.
An overwhelming sense of horror engulfed him—a terror so profound that it felt as though even his soul was on the verge of being extinguished.
The power of destruction that had been spreading outward uncontrollably came to an abrupt halt.
Even the destructive energy within Evan’s body, which had been tearing him apart, suddenly calmed.
Evan was startled when he felt the destructive power return to a stable state, and he turned his head to the right.
There, just a meter away from him, stood a little girl with emerald green eyes, staring at him blankly.
"Elora..."
Evan was stunned to see her as he clearly remembered that when the power of destruction had gone out of control, she had lost consciousness, just like last time.
But as he looked at her more closely, he quickly realized that something was wrong.
