My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 236: Quick Save
Chapter 234
Bruce’s eyes lit up for a second as the iron mace rapidly approached his neck, the air screaming under the pressure of the swing.
That was when—
Swoosh—! Swoosh—!
A dozen jagged ice spikes were sent speeding toward the Minotaur’s exposed flank.
The beast’s eyes rolled to the side, catching sight of the frozen projectiles hurtling through the air.
It was that fleeting moment of hesitation that Bruce took full advantage of.
Leaping to the side with a burst of primal power, he dodged the mace by the skin of his teeth.
In the same breath, he spun, swinging his leg again in a firm, powerful roundhouse kick.
The blow smashed into the monster’s side with enough force to send it flying directly into the path of the incoming ice spikes.
Even as it was airborne for a moment, its massive frame continued crackling with electricity, and then—
BOOOM—!
A violent explosion of lightning burst out from the creature’s body, smashing the ice projectiles away just before they could pierce its back.
The force of the discharge sent the Minotaur crashing into the ground, ricocheting off the stone floor like a discarded toy.
No peace. No break. No time to regain composure.
Felix was already in position, his claws elongating to the extent they resembled a pair of wicked short swords.
He hauled them downward with lightning speed, slamming them into the body of the beast and tearing through the tough hide.
Dark ichor sprayed into the air as the claws managed to slide a few inches deep—not a killing blow, but still enough to cause substantial damage.
His eyes gleamed dangerously as he stared into those of the monster, which finally looked genuinely rattled.
Then, from its fresh wounds, lightning crackled with renewed intensity.
A dozen needle-like lightning projectiles burst forth from the gashes with incredible velocity.
Felix leaped a step backward, but the electrical needles gave chase, forcing him into a frantic motion of swinging his claws to deflect the attacks that were upon him.
The beast rose to its full, menacing height, its nose flaring in a fit of rage.
It bolted toward the werewolf, who was still busy dealing with the needle-like lightning.
Just a step away from having his head smashed into a pulp, Felix was saved as Bruce closed the distance.
Bruce’s hands clasped together, which he hauled forward like a heavy baseball bat.
Wam—!
He smashed his joined fists into the beast’s face with every ounce of strength he could muster.
The Minotaur’s head was flung to the side, the impact nearly sending it reeling.
However, before it had the chance to fly backward, it reached out with a desperate grip, grabbing onto Bruce’s retreating hands.
Then, in one fluid motion, the Minotaur twisted its hips and clobbered the werewolf into the ground with thunderous force.
The cavern floor jittered as a wide, jagged crevice yawned open beneath them.
The air itself trembled from the slam.
Blood threatened to pour from Bruce’s mouth, yet he kept it held in, his jaws clenched tightly in defiance.
Twisting his arm around with a forceful, wrenching spin, Bruce shook the Minotaur from its solid footing, causing the monster to falter for a moment.
With a rough spin while his back was still on the ground, the werewolf’s legs darted forward, clamping firmly around the Minotaur’s thick neck.
A menacing, predatory smile appeared on Bruce’s face as he pulled the beast forward, interlocking it in his powerful grip.
He spun violently to the side, hammering the Minotaur into the ground and creating a deeper crevice beside him.
A thick cloud of dust erupted outward, shielding the duo from the view of the onlookers.
The next moment, Bruce could be seen hurtling from the dust, the force of his exit dispelling the cloud for a brief second.
Before his body could strike the cavern wall, Bruce spun mid-air and landed on all fours like a cat before springing forward again with predatory intensity.
The beast roared in absolute fury.
From the flank, Felix was rushing forward, a blur of fur and claws.
From the front, Bruce was closing the distance.
Angrily, lightning began to fizzle around the beast’s massive hands like a nest of living snakes.
In one smooth motion, the Minotaur slammed its palms onto the ground, sending jagged sparks of electricity flying in every direction.
Felix was moving too fast to stop.
He landed directly in the zone of impact, causing the lightning strikes to course through his frame and paralyzing his muscles for a critical moment.
Bruce, however, managed to halt his momentum just in time as he watched the Minotaur bolt toward the frozen Felix.
The young werewolf was straining with every fiber of his being to bring his hands together in a resounding clap to trigger a swap, but the paralyzing effect of the electricity made every movement feel like he was wading through lead.
Before the beast could reach him, frost began encasing the ground at an astonishing rate, racing toward Felix’s position.
The Minotaur hadn’t even noticed the change in temperature as it continued its charge toward the vulnerable werewolf.
Then, Trish appeared, sliding forward with incredible velocity.
She gripped a pair of ice daggers in her hands, a thin trail of blood sliding from her nostrils as she pushed her meta-force to the limit.
She utilized the icy ground to slide forward with immense momentum, passing between Felix’s legs just as the beast reached him.
Kicking off the floor with explosive force, she leaped in front of the monster, stunning it for a fleeting second.
Her daggers lashed forward in a deadly blur. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
One blade stabbed directly into one of the beast’s eyes, causing black ichor to spritz into the air; the second dug deep into the side of the creature’s neck, sinking several inches into the thick muscle.
The beast threw its head back in white-hot agony.
A roaring scream tore from its lungs, and its massive hand swung wildly to catch Trish and force her to pay for the injury.
Unfortunately for the monster, the nimble girl had already flipped forward over the beast’s head, landing directly behind it.
Unsheathing her sword in one smooth motion, she swung the blade forward in an attempt to bring the creature down.
However, the Minotaur’s instincts were sharp; it spun around fluidly with its leg raised, intercepting the steel.
The blade shattered against the beast’s thick hide.
Trish’s eyes widened for the slightest of moments.
She hadn’t expected the sword to outright split in two.
The weapon was of the Advanced Rank—only one tier below the beast in front of her—but she had hoped it would at least withstand the pressure.
Her shock was instantly dispelled as the Minotaur’s leg suddenly uncoiled like a massive spring, shooting toward her head with lightning speed.
"Ah... thanks to the beautiful girl, I finally know how to take you down."
A snarky voice echoed through the cavern as Bruce materialized between Trish and the incoming strike.
With a sudden, explosive push, he leaped forward, grabbing the beast by the waist and clobbering it back into the ground with all his might, much like a seasoned rugby player.
BOOOOM—!
A sharp, hollow crater yawned open beneath their bodies as they crashed into the stone.
