"This banquet, organized by Bai Sijia and your father, has managed to invite so many business and political celebrities that it’s shaping up to be a grand affair!" Feiyu voiced in surprise.

Leaning against the railing and brandishing a cigar in his hand, Third Young Master Jun took a casual puff.

Then he glanced down at the guests from all sides on the floor below, lost in his thoughts for a moment. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"Who would have thought he would invite the bigshots from all over the business world over tonight, probably deploying all his connections and networking. He’s never taken such pains for me before."

A maid walked over: "Young master, the Old Madam is out and asks you to come down quickly."

Third Young Master Jun nodded and put out his cigarette.

As he walked downstairs, Bai Sijia spotted him right away. With a full beam on her face, she walked over affectionately linking her arm in his, which Third Young Master didn’t resist.

The two of them reached Old Madam Jun, who was being circled by numerous guests.

"Granny, how is your health holding up?" Third Young Master, noticing Old Madam Jun’s recent gloominess, felt pity.

Bai Sijia immediately buttered up with a pleasing smile: "Granny, have you had the tonic my mother sent? It is a rare gem from the depths of the South American tropical rainforest, production is really limited, near impossible to find. It’s excellent for the body."

"You are all so thoughtful, thank you, Sijia. Aging is like this, health problems are inevitable."

Old Madam Jun’s smile was not as cheery as during the last welcome banquet.

Thinking back to that time, having her two sweet great-grandchildren by her side and witnessing Jun Huang truly in love, she felt ecstatic, blissful, and her health seemed to improve.

But she dared not show dissatisfaction.

"Yeah, King and I will take good care of you granny and we’ll even give you a chubby great-grandchild to cheer up," knowing Old Madam Jun’s fondness for cute babies, Bai Sijia gauged that having a child would solidify her position.

"Good, good." Old Madam Jun, after all, still missed Yiyi and Yuanyuan. Looking around at the bustling guests, she felt somewhat soothed. Speaking to Third Young Master Jun, she smiled, "Your father appears to have spent a great deal of effort arranging this banquet for you. He does, in the end, care about you, even though he doesn’t say so openly. You two need to foster a closer relationship and not be at loggerheads."

She had no other wishes - one, that her grandson be happy and two, that father and son mend their ties.

Third Young Master Jun remained silent for a moment then smiled, "I understand your intentions, Granny. I will try my best to reconcile with my father and not cause you any worries."

"A guest has arrived - it’s Miss Ye Lu," someone announced.

The expressions on the faces of the guests present subtly shifted as they turned their eyes towards Third Young Master Jun and Bai Sijia, some anticipating a dramatic development.

Ye Lu’s recent rise to prominence made her a hot topic in high society. All had heard of her various news, her previous engagement to Third Young Master Jun, and more.

This woman daring to attend the banquet of her former fiancé today undoubtedly foreboded something ominous.
