My Scheming Little Devil - Chapter 1711: Can’t Bring Myself to Do It
Unexpectedly, he used such a commanding tone with her, as if it was her life that was being threatened.
She sensed something was amiss; this aura would put her at a disadvantage. She needed to seize the initiative and prevent him from remaining so calm.
Her eyes darkened, and with a forceful twist of her wrist, the silver fork in her hand fiercely pierced through the skin on his neck. Blood suddenly flowed down from his jade-like neck, presenting a chillingly beautiful sight.
"Don’t think I won’t dare to kill you. Your life is in my hands, unless you’re ready to throw it away! In that case, we’ll die together. I’m just a reckless soul, doomed anyway, so dragging you down as a pair of mandarin ducks in the underworld wouldn’t be a loss. But you’re of noble status, a councilman’s son; why not cherish your life instead of insisting on dying with me?"
Hmph, she thought. Those with nothing to lose aren’t afraid; she only had one life to give, so she could gamble it all.
But he was different. A noble young man, living a good life—was it necessary for him to struggle with her, to risk his life? He must be pretending, stalling for time.
Ji Lingkong felt a pain in his throat, but he didn’t react at all. He lifted his gaze to quietly watch Jun Yiyi, with a dreamlike obstinacy in his eyes.
Jun Yiyi was startled by the silent determination in his eyes.
Unease and irritation crept in. Despite having kidnapped him, why did she feel threatened?
She couldn’t control him at all.
"Do you really think I don’t dare to kill you?" she shouted angrily.
Ji Lingkong silently looked at her. "You can try to kill me, but I still won’t let you go."
Jun Yiyi was nearly driven mad by fury. She hadn’t expected this situation and didn’t know what to do.
In anger, she stabbed his neck forcefully, but he remained impassive despite the blood. Her hands trembled; ultimately, she couldn’t bring herself to stab him, this stranger yet familiar man.
"See, you can’t kill me."
Ji Lingkong pressed something in his hand, and before she could react, the villa’s alarms blared loudly, piercingly sharp, driving the blood to her head, quickening her heartbeat, and making it hard to breathe.
"What are you doing?" Jun Yiyi gasped in shock and anger, almost driving the fork into him.
Ji Lingkong didn’t speak, only looked at her with a self-assured confidence that conveyed control of the situation.
A few seconds later, armed soldiers rushed in and surrounded Jun Yiyi, pointing their guns at her head.
Jun Yiyi was furious.
"I should have killed you just now." Damn it, she tried to escape but was instead subdued, left feeling more frustrated than ever. She shouldn’t have hesitated; at least in death, she’d bring him down with her.
"But you didn’t." Ji Lingkong’s complex voice broke the silence, and in the next moment, Jun Yiyi felt something sharp hit her neck, causing her to instantly weaken and collapse into his arms, consciousness fading away.
Ji Lingkong held her soft body, quietly observing her with an increasingly complex and cold gaze!
"What audacity, daring to attack the young master, a death wish indeed. Young master, shall we throw her to the ’demon’s den’?" The squad leader, Anman, was deeply infuriated. This girl was audacious; she dared to act in a place guarded by dozens, and she succeeded.
It was truly a humiliation to these mighty guards.
"No need."
"And your wound?"
"Leave; I’ll handle it!"
Anman led the team outside quietly. Once outside, still seething, he contemplated and couldn’t shake off his anger. That girl even wounded the councilman’s son—it was intolerable. He picked up the phone to report the incident to the security department of the councilman’s residence.
The security department treated it like a major threat, immediately informing the councilman. Today’s update complete.
