Chapter 230: One-sided Slaughter

Damian stared silently at the terrified priests before him. Then casually, he stretched one hand forward. The motion looked slow and lazy even yet the instant his fingers spread apart—

BOOOOM!!!

A violent sonic boom erupted behind Damian as the golden fortress shattered apart from the inside like fragile glass struck by a cannonball.

Massive chunks of divine walls burst outward in every direction while holy light scattered violently across the forest. For one brief moment, everything seemed to pause. Even the guardian angels froze.

Damian vanished instantly. One second he still stood inside the fortress and the next he was already standing before the priests.

No one saw him move. The sheer speed completely surpassed what their minds could process.

Damian calmly stood before a bald priest whose eyes had widened so much they nearly bulged from their sockets. Fear froze the man completely as he watched Damian casually raise his hand.

Pa!

The slap sounded almost harmless yet the priest’s head exploded sideways from his neck instantly. Blood burst violently into the air as the severed head shot across the battlefield like a cannonball before crashing directly into another priest’s trembling hands.

The man froze and his breathing stopped completely. Slowly he lowered his gaze toward the head resting inside his palms. The expression on the severed face still carried shock and disbelief. Even in death, the priest looked unable to comprehend what had happened.

The body itself remained standing briefly. Blood sprayed endlessly from the exposed neck while the headless corpse slowly reached upward toward the wound instinctively.

Finally the priest holding the head screamed. The sound tore violently through the battlefield. He threw the severed head away immediately before turning around and bolting blindly into the forest.

Only then did the headless corpse collapse heavily onto the ground.

BANG!

Panic exploded instantly afterward amongst the rest. The priests completely broke. Screams erupted from every direction while holy formations collapsed entirely. Some priests abandoned their weapons immediately while others stumbled backward in terror.

Their faith shattered instantly.

Meanwhile, Damian remained standing calmly among them with blood splattered lightly across his arm. The guardian angel connected to the dead priest let out a furious roar before charging downward from behind him.

Golden light exploded across the battlefield as the angel raised one hand and a massive golden trident materialized instantly within its grasp. Divine flames erupted around the weapon while violent holy winds spiraled outward.

The angel thrust the trident forward mercilessly and a burning storm surrounding the spear tore through the battlefield directly toward Damian’s back.

Several fleeing priests screamed in relief. Finally something would stop this monster—

Pa!

Damian casually turned around and slapped the burning trident sideways like it was nothing more than cheap plastic. The divine flames exploded apart instantly and the guardian angel’s eyes widened.

Before it could even react—

BAM!!!

Damian’s hand swung back downward violently. The slap connected directly against the angel’s face and its head exploded immediately into a mist of golden blood.

The body jerked violently backward while divine blood sprayed across the battlefield endlessly before the headless corpse crashed heavily against the ground.

BOOM!

Silence followed briefly as the remaining priests stared blankly.

Just slaps!

This man was killing priests and guardian angels with casual slaps!!!

The realization completely shattered what little courage remained inside them.

SWOOSH!!!

His body blurred instantly through the battlefield before appearing directly beside a black priest attempting to flee. The priest’s eyes widened in terror as Damian casually reached toward his face.

But suddenly a guardian angel intercepted from the side. This angel looked different. Its eyes were covered entirely by strips of white cloth while a massive golden sword burned fiercely within its grasp.

The angel swung downward instantly and the flaming blade tore through the air toward Damian’s neck with terrifying force.

BAM!!!

Damian caught the sword with his bare hand and the battlefield froze again. The angel itself visibly trembled while staring at Damian’s fingers gripping the burning blade effortlessly.

It could see a thin layer of demonic force covered Damian’s palm like invisible armor.

"Impossible..." the angel gasped.

"What exactly is impossible?" Rin asked coldly from atop Damian’s head.

The little fox stared down at the angel with mocking eyes.

"A prince trampling a mere foot soldier?"

The angel’s expression darkened violently. But before it could react—

BAM!!!

The flames surrounding the sword vanished instantly and the angel froze. Slowly it lowered its gaze downward. Damian’s hand had pierced completely through its chest and golden blood poured endlessly from the wound like a broken fountain.

The angel’s lips parted weakly as blood spilled from its mouth. It watched Damian slowly pull his hand outward and a beating golden heart came with it.

Damian raised the divine heart toward eye level while staring at it with dull indifference. Golden blood dripped endlessly down his fingers and the sensation clearly disgusted him slightly.

"I told you..." Damian spoke calmly. "Only horrible deaths await those who fail to kill me."

CRUSH!!!

The heart exploded within his grasp effortlessly and the angel’s body collapsed lifelessly onto the ground immediately afterward.

Panic erupted even harder.

Several priests began crying openly while others abandoned all thoughts of fighting entirely. Some guardian angels even hesitated visibly now.

This was no battle anymore, it was a slaughter.

Yet despite the chaos consuming the battlefield below, two figures remained calm. High above the battlefield, Corbin stood silently beneath Gilbert’s cocoon of folded wings.

The priest’s burning white eyes stared downward coldly while Gilbert’s ancient golden gaze remained fixed on Damian without blinking once.

"Let’s kill him." Gilbert said.

Corbin nodded immediately with no hesitation. He brought both hands together before his chest. The moment his palms touched—

BOOOOOOOM!!!

A violent surge of divine radiance exploded outward from his body. Golden energy tore directly through his skin like sunlight erupting from within flesh itself. The divine power pulsed violently around him like the heartbeat of some celestial being awakening from slumber.

The entire battlefield was dyed gold instantly and the fleeing priests froze. The surviving guardian angels turned instinctively toward the heavens.

Even the demons shielding themselves behind Damian looked upward with pale expressions as overwhelming holy pressure descended upon the battlefield.

Below, Damian suddenly froze mid step. The black priest dangling helplessly from his grip coughed violently while clawing uselessly at Damian’s hand, but Damian no longer paid him any attention.

His glowing violet eyes slowly lifted toward Corbin.

"Divine Art: Cathedral.." Damian muttered softly.

"It seems things are about to get spicy here." His voice carried genuine excitement now.

Rin chuckled darkly atop his head while staring upward at the growing divine phenomenon.

"Yep..." the fox nodded. "They plan to kill you the same way they tried killing Duke Haborym."
