Seraphina Vaughn frowned and said unhappily, "Go eat if you want, I’m not eating."

Julian Bishop said with a very patient tone, "Don’t let your health suffer because you’re upset."

Seraphina snorted coldly, and instead of putting her feet in the slippers, she lifted her legs onto the chair, lay back down, and even put on her sunglasses, looking like she had no intention of dealing with Julian.

Julian saw this, sat down on the lounge chair next to Seraphina, and said, "What do you want to eat? I’ll have it delivered here."

Seraphina lay still, as if she hadn’t heard him.

Not saying anything further, Julian got up and left the balcony.

It was only after hearing Julian’s footsteps fade away that Seraphina moved slightly, turning her head to glance behind her.

Then she took off her sunglasses and smiled triumphantly, knowing Julian couldn’t outlast her.

For her, dampening someone’s enthusiasm was so easy, even if someone had a genuine liking for her, she could wear them down completely, let alone a man with no emotional foundation.

She couldn’t believe Julian would last a week.

Seraphina touched her belly. She hadn’t eaten much when she was dining with friends earlier, and now she was feeling a bit hungry.

She took out her phone, opened a takeout app, and wanted to see if there was anything around she wanted to eat.

Since becoming pregnant, her tastes have changed from what they were before, and recently she has had quite a strong reaction.

Often she found herself losing appetite when the food arrived, forcing herself to take a few bites only to have to throw it up a while later.

"I’ve brought the hotel’s menu, see if there’s anything you want to eat."

Upon hearing the voice behind her, Seraphina stiffened, lifting her eyes to see Julian had already walked up to her, placing the menu beside her hand.

Seraphina frowned, barely glancing at it, not reaching for the menu, continuing to swipe through the takeout options on her phone.

Julian leaned over to look at Seraphina’s phone, seeing it was full of listings for spicy hot pot-like dishes.

Before Julian could say anything, Seraphina covered the phone screen against her chest, frowning as she said to Julian, "Do you have any manners? Why are you snooping on someone else’s phone?"

Julian softly said, "Eat less spicy food."

Upon hearing Julian’s prohibition, Seraphina loved to defy him, "That’s exactly what I want to eat."

"I’m thinking about you, and also about our child," Julian remarked.

Seraphina sneered dismissively, "Just think about yourself and leave me alone."

Although saying so, Seraphina still closed the spicy hot pot shop’s page and started looking for something she wanted and could eat.

Even though she opposed Julian, she still had to consider the child in her belly.

Although when she first learned she was pregnant, she didn’t want to keep the child.

But as her mindset changed slowly, once she decided to have the baby, she had to take on a mother’s responsibility.

Julian sighed indulgently, saying, "Fine, whatever you want to eat, I’ll eat with you."

Seraphina glanced at him, her expression and tone openly showing disdain, "Who wants to eat with you? Go cool off somewhere, don’t sway in front of me, makes me sick."

Upon hearing such offensive words from Seraphina, Julian’s face showed no trace of displeasure. Instead, he inquired calmly, "Are you like this with everyone?"

Seraphina muttered something under her breath, disinterested in engaging with Julian, and placed an order for pan-fried dumplings through her phone.

Seeing Seraphina not respond, Julian did not pursue further questions; he quietly sat in the chair beside her, called hotel service, and ordered a steak.

The sunset gradually cast vibrant orange-red hues upon the sea surface.

Although Seraphina didn’t acknowledge Julian, she would occasionally glance in his direction from behind her sunglasses, unable to completely ignore his presence.

The hotel-delivered meal arrived quicker than Seraphina’s.

Julian sat in the chair, elegantly cutting into the steak on his plate, watched Seraphina lying opposite him, and asked, "Do you want a taste?"

Seraphina appeared deaf, mute, fixated on her phone, and completely ignoring Julian’s words.

Placing a cut piece of beef into his mouth, Julian chewed unhurriedly, swallowed, and said, "The wind’s picking up; you should go inside and put on a jacket, don’t catch a chill."

Seraphina remained silent and still, her phone continually echoed the sounds of a card game.

Julian sighed helplessly, like a father facing a rebellious daughter, feeling powerless, but unable to let go entirely.

He put down his knife and fork, stood up and took off his jacket, then draped it over Seraphina’s legs, exposed by the length of her skirt, saying, "Pregnant women can’t take most cold remedies, being sick is miserable, you..."

Before Julian could finish, Seraphina lifted her foot and sent his jacket onto the floor.

Julian’s body stiffened; Seraphina thought he’d get angry, but she saw Julian bending down to retrieve the jacket without a word, turned, walked inside, and soon returned to the table to continue his dinner.

Seraphina, witnessing Julian’s reaction, didn’t think it was due to a gentle temperament but rather felt he was merely holding back, suppressing his true emotions intensely for the week.

She was curious to find out his composure’s breaking point and when this seemingly calm and proper man would show his true colors.

As the delivery person arrived with the takeout, hotel staff also entered promptly.

"Sir, was it you who requested a blanket?"

Julian nodded, indicating toward Seraphina with a nod of his chin.

The staff understood and immediately approached to hand the light blanket to Seraphina.

Seraphina glared at Julian with dissatisfaction, but she didn’t show any rudeness or willfulness toward others.

She reached to take the blanket offered by the staff and smiled, saying, "Thank you."

The staff thoughtfully reminded, "The wind here can be quite strong in the evening, easy to catch a chill. Shall I get you some warmer clothing from your room?" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Seraphina wasn’t sure if these words were instructed by Julian; she glanced at Julian, who was just focused on his food.

"Thank you, no need, I’ll head back to the room soon."

The staff nodded with a smile, "Alright, enjoy your meals, call me if you need anything."

The wind chilled Seraphina to the point she shivered, pulling the blanket around herself, sitting cross-legged on the chair as she unpacked her takeout, keeping a displeased eye on Julian.

Julian kept to his own meal, without sharing any exchange with Seraphina, just like two complete strangers sharing a table.
