Chapter 855: Chapter 855: You Think I Cheated?

The reappearance of this woman made Audrey Sutton think of many possibilities again.

Laura Yates noticed that Audrey Sutton hadn’t followed, so she turned her head to see where Audrey was looking.

After carefully examining for a couple of seconds, she whispered to Audrey Sutton, "Isn’t that the woman in the photo you took?"

Audrey Sutton snapped back to reality and asked Laura Yates, "Second sister-in-law, do you also think she looks similar?"

Laura Yates nodded, "Although the clothes are different, look at her hair, both the length and the color are the same. It should be the same person."

Audrey Sutton couldn’t help but feel suspicious. If it really is the same person, which of these two completely different styles represents the real her?

And who exactly is the man who looks like Shane?

Did Shane... lie?

Erin Yates finished asking and immediately turned around and quickly walked out of the hotel.

Audrey Sutton withdrew her gaze and heard Laura Yates muttering, "I always feel like I’ve seen her somewhere, but I just can’t remember. After having Clary, my memory seems to have worsened."

Vanessa Sterling chuckled and said, "I often have that feeling too. Maybe we’ve seen a similar character on TV."

Audrey Sutton mused thoughtfully as she walked into the elevator. As soon as the elevator reached the floor, the doors opened to reveal Shane standing outside.

Shane didn’t expect Audrey Sutton to be inside. He was startled for a moment before saying, "I’ve washed all the bottles and made a cup of formula. You give it to our son. The police station just called, and I need to go there for a bit."

Laura Yates asked, "Is there any news?"

"Not sure yet."

Audrey Sutton walked out of the elevator carrying Anna, hesitating as she looked at Shane, but in the end, she said nothing and walked away with Anna in her arms.

Laura Yates looked at the two of them, caught up with Audrey and quietly asked, "What’s wrong, Audrey? Did you have a fight? Is it because of that photo from yesterday?"

"I don’t know why. It just feels like he’s hiding something from me."

"Why don’t you just ask him? And even if something’s going on, he’s probably not telling you because he doesn’t want you to worry. Your second brother often does that. He knows I’ll nag him, so he always does things first and tells me later. If you think about it, it’s because he cares about me. But from our perspective, when they don’t discuss things with us, it does feel a bit uncomfortable."

Audrey Sutton nodded thoughtfully, feeling like her current mindset was similar to what Laura Yates described, yet also felt different somehow.

She couldn’t quite put her finger on what was wrong; she just felt inexplicably stifled inside.

This time, Shane was back in just over ten minutes.

Audrey Sutton saw him approaching but didn’t greet him, nor did she ask what he found out at the police station.

When Shane brushed past Audrey Sutton at the elevator door, he wanted to grab her and ask why she was like this.

So, he directly moved in front of Audrey Sutton. Aware that there were others around, Shane picked up Anna, who was playing with cards on the sofa, and said quietly to Audrey Sutton, "Come to the room."

Audrey Sutton glanced at him. Shane, holding Anna with one arm, used the other to grab Audrey Sutton’s wrist and led her out of the entertainment room back to their room.

Once the door was closed, Shane put Anna on the bed and casually threw a plush toy from the table to him. He turned to Audrey Sutton, who was standing by the door, and pointed his chin at the sofa near the window. "Let’s talk."

Audrey Sutton responded sulkily, "Talk about what?"

As she responded, she walked toward the sofa.

Once Audrey Sutton sat down, Shane sat on the adjacent sofa and stared at her, "Let’s talk about what’s on your mind. You’ve been giving me the cold shoulder since the morning. What did I do to offend you? Tell me clearly."

Audrey Sutton snorted, "Can’t I just be in a bad mood? Do I have to face you with a smile every day?"

Shane pressed further, "Then tell me why you’re in a bad mood."

Audrey Sutton turned her head away without answering, unable to pinpoint an exact reason, just feeling uncomfortable.

Shane moved over to the single sofa Audrey Sutton was sitting on. He put his arm around her and asked, "Is it because of that photo from yesterday? Do you think I’m cheating?"

Audrey Sutton did have such suspicions but wasn’t about to admit it now.

She moved Shane’s hand away, turned to him, and said, "I just saw that woman downstairs again."

Shane was slightly stunned, processing for about half a second before asking, "The woman in the photo?"

Audrey Sutton nodded, hinting, "She just left the hotel, and someone went downstairs right afterward. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or if there’s another story behind it."

Hearing Audrey Sutton’s sarcastic tone, Shane couldn’t help but laugh with anger, "So you think I went down to see that woman?"

He secretly admired women’s intuition as he spoke.

Just from that photo, Audrey Sutton had begun to suspect him.

It seems that in matters like this, one really cannot lie to women, not even white lies.

Audrey Sutton snorted lightly, "I didn’t say that."

"But that’s what you’re thinking. We’ve been married for so long, and we have two kids. How could you still have such silly thoughts?"

"There are plenty of men who abandon their wives and children."

Shane looked at her slightly pouting lips due to anger, chuckled, lifted her chin, and kissed her passionately.

Anna, sitting on the bed, watched this scene with wide eyes, his doll forgotten in his hand.

"Eh, mamama~" waving his hands, he babbled, finding his way back into the moment.

Audrey Sutton blushed and pushed Shane away, muttering, "Our son is watching!"

Shane turned his head to glance at Anna on the bed, quickly stole another kiss from Audrey Sutton’s cheek, and said, "He doesn’t understand."

Audrey Sutton glared at him, stood up intending to leave, but Shane grabbed her, pulling her into his arms, leaned close to her neck, and asked, "Still angry, or not anymore?"

Audrey Sutton turned to ask him, "Then tell me, why did you go to the police station just now?"

Shane embraced Audrey Sutton, turned his head to look at her, and confessed honestly, "It’s about Faye Xavier and the others. They said they might need my help and wanted to give me a heads-up."

Audrey Sutton skeptically pursued, "What can you help with?"

Shane: "How would I know? Probably just cooperate with some investigation or something. I see the road is open, why don’t you all go first? This place really isn’t safe, unless..."

Before Shane finished speaking, Audrey Sutton’s eyes were full of doubt, "If you want to send me away, can you be less obvious about it?"

Shane sighed helplessly, smiled affectionately, tightened his embrace, and said, "Alright, we won’t go anywhere. I’ll use strong glue to stick you to me, so no one can separate us."

"Hmph."

Shane’s tone turned serious, "Jokes aside, this place truly isn’t safe. If you stay, be sure to stay in the hotel, preferably not leaving this floor."
