Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 853: Little Hope for Survival
The scene in the nightclub downstairs, although Morgan Quinn had seen it once before, being here again still made him feel that the muscular men dancing provocatively on stage were truly eye-popping.
It was naturally Erin Yates’ first time witnessing such a scene, and she felt a bit nauseated inside, yet she had to pretend it was an everyday occurrence.
The two sat at a corner table, Erin Yates swirling her drink while sizing up the male models in the club.
She leaned closer to Morgan Quinn’s ear, whispering, "Keep an eye out for the person in the picture I showed you earlier. See if he’s among these people."
Morgan Quinn scanned the room. The laser lights were hurting his eyes, leaving him little desire to search for the man in the photo.
He frowned slightly with impatience and said, "Just go straight to Ms. Reid, and tell her you want the male model from the picture."
Erin Yates rolled her eyes, "You seem smart, but you’re brainless."
Morgan Quinn: "Are you insulting me again?"
Erin Yates: "Who goes around showing photos to find people? Are you afraid others won’t suspect me?"
Morgan Quinn: "Then just say you want to pick a male model and have Ms. Reid bring them over for you to choose."
Erin Yates took a sip from her glass, "I’ve already chosen a few batches before you arrived. I’m a new client, and Ms. Reid was getting a bit suspicious of me earlier."
Morgan Quinn: "Then maybe the person you’re looking for isn’t even here. Can’t you just bring in people to surround the place and check each one?"
Erin Yates glared at him in frustration, "Your lip service is better than your actions. If you’re so capable, go ahead yourself."
Morgan Quinn: "Alright, alright, I’ll help you look."
Morgan Quinn glanced around and muttered, "Damn, so many male models. Are they here willingly or were they tricked into coming? It’s blowing my mind."
Erin Yates snorted coldly and muttered softly, "No better than each other."
She watched the middle-aged woman at the table next to them, sitting in the lap of a young male model, speaking vulgar words while the other women at the table clapped and cheered.
The depraved scene made her unconsciously wrinkle her brow.
At this moment, Morgan Quinn reached out to wrap his arm around Erin Yates’ waist, leeringly whispering in her ear, "Shouldn’t we act more convincingly? You paid for me but are ignoring me. Aren’t you afraid of suspicion?"
Erin Yates smiled on the surface, but under the table, she pinched Morgan Quinn’s thigh hard, gritting her teeth as she smiled and said, "Get lost." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Morgan Quinn released his grip in pain, rubbing the pinched spot, "Such strength. Aren’t you afraid you won’t find a boyfriend in the future?"
"I can see you’re not in a hurry. I think I’ll head back first and come back in a few days to check things out."
Morgan Quinn immediately grabbed Erin Yates’ arm, flattering her, "Don’t, sis. Look at this place; it’s not fit for humans. I’ve been here less than a day and I’m already exhausted. If I stay longer, you might not see me next time."
Erin Yates lowered her head and looked at Morgan Quinn’s hand on her arm, speaking coldly, "Let go."
Morgan Quinn obediently complied, sitting down properly next to Erin Yates.
The two sat in the nightclub for about ten minutes and found no one resembling Old Snake.
Erin Yates called over a staff member, expressing her desire to take Morgan Quinn to a private room.
The purpose was quite simple: to figure out the layout and roughly understand the positioning and size of the club.
When the staff led them to the room, both Morgan Quinn and Erin Yates noticed that the staff also had a card identical to the one Ms. Reid held.
To navigate freely here, that access card seemed key.
"This is the room; it has the best environment and is well-equipped, but the price is slightly higher, five thousand per night."
Erin Yates took out her bank card again to pay.
Five thousand isn’t too expensive, Morgan Quinn thought, comparable to staying in a luxury hotel outside for a night.
But upon entering, he found the price to be outrageous.
Just a small ten-square-meter room with a double bed and two rows of shelves. The shelves were filled with various small whips and other implements.
"If you need anything, there’s a call button by the bed. Press it, and staff will come over."
Erin Yates nodded, took her bank card back into her bag, and then entered the room, locking the door without a word.
Though everyone knew it was just acting, Erin Yates was still a pure-hearted girl recently graduated from the police academy.
Being alone in such a room with a not-so-familiar stranger made her feel somewhat uneasy.
She cleared her throat and walked over to the small window to glance outside.
Morgan Quinn came over and said, "It’s useless; the windows are sealed with iron bars."
Erin Yates quietly looked out, the view outside was dark and unclear, appearing to be a wasteland adjoining some large mountains, with a rather complex terrain.
Morgan Quinn looked at the equipment in the room, clicked his tongue twice, and then lamented, "These people really know how to play. Who knows what’s happening with Faye Xavier; if things continue like this, it won’t end well."
On the other side, Faye Xavier was sleeping soundly under the influence of alcohol.
The boss here was relatively "humane," not making the same male models entertain endlessly as long as they hit the daily earning target.
After all, if there were a fatality, the cost wouldn’t have been recovered before losing them, which would be an unprofitable business.
So after getting drunk with some rich ladies, Ms. Reid had someone take Faye Xavier back to a room to rest and sober up.
After Erin Yates briefly explored the terrain, she intended to leave.
But Morgan Quinn worried that once Erin Yates left, Ms. Reid would assign other guests to him, pleaded with Erin to stay a bit longer.
At least create the pretense that he’d stayed up arduously to serve, which might help him avoid trouble tomorrow.
Erin Yates didn’t sympathize with this old lecher, Morgan Quinn, yet in this predicament, she couldn’t just watch him suffer.
Upon entering, Erin’s phone had also been confiscated, leaving them bored, simply sitting there.
Morgan Quinn continually tried to make conversation, trying to hit on Erin Yates, but she ignored him.
During this period, Erin Yates was exhausted from working day and night.
Seizing the opportunity, she lifted the blanket, lay on the bed, and warned Morgan Quinn, "I’m going to nap. If you dare lay a hand, I’ll invite some aunties to play with you tomorrow."
Morgan Quinn immediately broke into a flattering grin, "I’m not that kind of person. You can sleep at ease; I’ll keep watch."
