Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 845: Two Old Perverts
Faye Xavier and Morgan Quinn entered the restroom, only then realizing why Ms. Reid was so confident in letting them go there.
Several large men followed them in, and not only that, every opening, even the exhaust vents on the walls, were welded shut with iron plates.
The two had no choice but to obediently leave the restroom, being taken to different rooms.
Although both rooms were filled with women, neither liked this forced form of service.
Moreover, those so-called "ladies" were old enough to be their mothers.
However, fortunately, the two were quite experienced in dealing with women. Before thinking of a way to escape, they sensibly chatted with these ladies.
After all, they were isolated and unfamiliar with the environment.
Now, their hope entirely rested with Shane Warner and the others, hoping they would soon notice their absence, find them, and rescue them.
In the hotel, the next morning when everyone gathered at the restaurant for breakfast, they didn’t find it strange not to see Faye Xavier, Morgan Quinn, and those few girls.
Because they usually played games all night and only showed up around lunchtime.
So no one noticed anything unusual at that time.
It wasn’t until lunchtime that Audrey Sutton realized both were still absent.
Recalling the doctor’s words from the previous day and Shane Warner’s unanswered call to Faye Xavier, Audrey mentioned to Shane, "Could something have happened to them? You should call again to check."
Before Shane could respond, Lucian Quinn said, "I called my brother this morning, the phone was off, and so was Faye’s."
Although those two love to play, they usually keep their phones on. If Shane needed them, they would immediately answer and come over.
So it was indeed quite unusual not to be able to reach either of them.
Audrey then suggested, "The police station is right across the street, why don’t we file a report?"
Phoebe King added, "And those women who hang out with Faye every day are also missing."
Flora Lane commented, "I always thought there was something off about those women; maybe it’s their doing."
Seraphina Vaughn snorted coldly, "If that’s true, it’s just as well, let those two old lechers learn a lesson."
Saying this, Seraphina glanced at Julian Bishop sitting in the corner and remarked pointedly, "Some people are lucky, not being pulled into this mess this time, but walking by the river often one will eventually get their shoes wet. Let’s see what happens."
Julian Bishop: "..."
He noticed Seraphina’s stare earlier, realizing her sarcastic tone, yet he couldn’t understand why Seraphina misunderstood him so deeply.
Shane Warner contemplated for a moment, stood up, and gave Lucian a signal, saying, "Stay here and watch over everyone, I’ll go check things out."
Lucian pondered and said, "I’ll go with you. Everyone else should stay here at the hotel and not go out."
Heath Holloway chimed in confidently, "Cousin, don’t worry, I’m here!"
Shane replied irritably, "Just don’t cause trouble for me."
Audrey handed Anna to Scott Sutton, escorting Shane and Lucian to the elevator, and cautiously reminded, "Just go to the police and ask, don’t investigate on your own."
Shane nodded lightly, "We’ll be back soon."
...
The police station downstairs seemed old, with peeling paint on the walls.
When Shane and Lucian entered, only a middle-aged man with bifocal glasses was at the reception, slowly going through some documents.
It was not until they approached the desk that the old man finally noticed them, looking up to ask, "What can I do for you two?"
Shane replied nonchalantly, "We’re looking for someone."
The old man smiled apologetically, "Well, both of you please wait a bit. Leaders from the city are here, and everyone is in a meeting. Once the technical staff are out, they’ll assist you, okay?"
Shane asked, "How long will it take?"
The old man glanced at the clock on the wall and replied, "The meeting has been going for about two hours, should be wrapping up soon."
Shane sighed and, along with Lucian, sat in the hall waiting.
In the police headquarters’ meeting room, the long table was surrounded by people.
Franklin Sutton stood at the front, explaining the operation plan together with a local officer.
Since the people and events involved in this case were complex, aside from the fugitive they were pursuing, it also involved drug trafficking and arms smuggling organizations. Additionally, a crackdown on illegal adult entertainment seemed connected.
"Officer Sutton, you and your team are fresh faces in the area, so we’ll rely on you for this mission."
Franklin responded with a slightly weary voice, "We’ll proceed as per the plan we discussed, action will take place tonight."
Erin Yates nodded, "There’s also the matter with Old Snake that we need to follow up on."
Franklin thought for a moment and said, "The situation with that bar is a bit complex, let’s observe first. As long as Old Snake hasn’t left the country, we’ll definitely catch him."
Another local officer added, "We’ve been investigating underground transactions in this area as well. The bar you mentioned is reported to be a hidden brothel catering exclusively to female clientele, with very secretive customer interactions, inaccessible to just anyone."
Erin remarked, "Since they rely on this for income, it’s impossible to fully shut out outside clients. You should avoid alerting them prematurely; I can go probe things first."
Franklin contemplated and asked, "Catering to female clients only? So, they make money primarily off men there?"
"That’s one way to put it."
Franklin boldly speculated, "No wonder Old Snake’s transactions have stalled. Could he have infiltrated this bar seeking a different revenue stream, delaying the sale of that shipment?"
"That line of work is certainly lucrative, quick to generate income. If Old Snake has infiltrated, he likely is leveraging this line to make money."
With some thought, Erin added, "Then I really ought to visit."
Franklin concluded, "Let’s focus on completing tonight’s mission first. Make sure you review the Lowells’ information thoroughly to avoid mishaps tonight."
Erin replied, "I’ve memorized it already. The key now is when Lynn Bishop will arrive." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Franklin checked his watch, pulled out his phone, and said while dialing, "I’ll call to check."
