Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 1181 - 1176: Willow Lancaster Says Sibling Romance Is True Love
Mina Drake didn’t understand what her husband was trying to express, but she nodded. After many years of marriage, Robert Lancaster was honest and considerate, and had never had any scandals with women.
"And what about your husband’s judgment?" 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Robert Lancaster asked again, and Mina Drake nodded once more.
His wife’s unconditional trust comforted Robert Lancaster. He curved his lips and said, "Mina, just remember, your husband won’t deal with shady people!"
Mina Drake trusted her husband’s judgment and character, but—
"But Mom and Uncle!"
"They’re not as bad as you think. Actually, they’re victims too." Before Mina Drake could finish, Robert Lancaster interrupted her, speaking word by word as he looked at his wife, "There are some things only I know, and I’ll tell you when I get the chance!"
"Alright." Faced with her husband’s serious expression, Mina Drake nodded. Robert Lancaster curved his lips again, tightened his grip on his wife’s hand, and said, "Mom is a good woman. She suffered a lot when she was young. We need to treat her well,"
"Mm," Mina Drake had just nodded when Robert Lancaster added, "And Uncle too."
...
It wasn’t until dinner that Sophia Hamilton understood what "family reunion" meant.
Looking at the Lancaster family relatives filling two large dining tables, over thirty people, she felt an illusion that she was attending a banquet.
The Lancaster family elders sat at one table. Sophia Hamilton sat with Evander Lancaster, while Willow Lancaster, who was upset that morning, sat to Evander’s right. As cousins, it wasn’t unreasonable for them to sit together, but after Willow sat down, she kept clinging to Evander. She insisted on having her cousin help her get food even when she could get it herself.
Pointing to this dish one moment, then wanting that dish the next, causing the younger sisters at the table to laugh and say, "Sister Willow, it’s a good thing we’re at home; if we were outside, people might think you’re chasing after second brother!"
Willow wasn’t bothered at all by the sisters’ teasing. Instead, she took the opportunity to loop her arm through Evander’s, resting her head on his shoulder playfully saying, "So what if I am? How many girls wouldn’t like a guy as handsome as second brother?"
"Alright, that’s enough!" Evander laughed as he pulled back his arm, "Willow, stop it; my woman might misunderstand, and I don’t want a scandalous reputation."
The conversation between the two siblings elicited laughter from their younger cousins.
At the whole table, the older ones were Robert Lancaster and Daemon Lancaster’s two sons and daughters-in-law. Hearing the younger ones joking so freely, Robert Lancaster and his wife just laughed along. It was just kids being outspoken, and no one thought much of it.
However, Daemon Lancaster’s sons and their wives didn’t share the same attitude. Though they didn’t participate, their disdain was evident on their faces.
Fortunately, everyone was too busy chatting and laughing to notice, so the atmosphere wasn’t ruined.
Even though Evander Lancaster had tactfully shaken off his cousin’s clinginess, Willow Lancaster was oblivious, once again wrapping her arm around Evander’s and raising her little face, directly ignoring Sophia Hamilton’s presence. She persisted, saying, "Second brother, don’t you go online? Brother-sister romances are trendy now; novels write them like true love!"
Sophia Hamilton, sitting to Evander’s left, licked her lips in awkwardness, instinctively casting a quick glance at the expressions of others at the table. Some were smiling nonchalantly, while others frowned directly.
