Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy
Chapter 305: Epilogue: The Cherry Blossoms Shall Bloom Forever (II)
"Vivi! Get back here!" Jojo yelled at his little sister, who had developed a pair of butterfly wings just like her mother’s.
Ever since she got those wings at the age of five, Vivi had been a menace, because she would just fly away while being accompanied by her faerie friends, and the entire Queen’s courtyard would fall into a state of emergency. This caused both Jojo and his father to drop whatever matters they had in court and go to find her.
Vivi stopped flying around and hovered midair, flapping her butterfly wings that constantly scattered gold dust around. She stuck her tongue out to taunt her big brother. "Bweee! You have to catch me first, big brother!"
"You—argh!"
Jojo was getting frustrated seeing his naughty little sister. Vivi had been such a lovely little girl before getting those wings, and now she had become a cute rogue who was both adorable and annoying at times.
Jojo disliked using his power as the Dawn Star because he came to understand that his power worked like reality warping.
He could create or erase things out of thin air, such as a pair of wings or even turn himself into a giant if he really had to.
But it was dangerous, because there was always a price to pay for using his power, and it was never pretty.
Such as when he used his power to make Vivi stop flying, but what it caused was her wing suddenly ripping in half, and she had to be nursed back to health by their mother under the eternal cherry blossom tree for a few days.
Jojo felt extremely guilty at that time, and though his parents understood that he was just trying to discipline his sister, he still asked for punishment in the end.
Thus, Jojo had to actually chase Vivi around like a man trying to catch a real butterfly, which amused both Sisi and Kael as they watched over their children.
Ten years had passed since the cherry blossoms had bloomed, and they continued to bloom even during winter.
Jojo was now sixteen years old, at the cusp of adulthood, and would be crowned as the Beast King by tomorrow morning.
Jojo had grown into a handsome young man, still with a pair of golden eyes and platinum-silver hair. His ears and tail were white just like before, but now with a shade of light pink like cherry blossoms, caused by him drinking the water from the Origin Spring back then and absorbing a bit of his mother’s divinity in the process.
Jojo was already tall and robust, just like Kael, but not as tall. He would have to wait until he was in his twenties to be as big as Kael.
Meanwhile, Vivi was a cute ten-year-old who resembled young Sisi so much. She was a very lively yet naughty little girl.
She had become the Darling of the Earth after Sisi’s death and was under the careful watch of the faeries and Grandma Tree.
She had visited the faerie land many times already, and was allowed to go back and forth between the Beast Kingdom and faerie land using Grandma Tree’s underground roots to travel.
After all, Vivi was a half-beastman with a pair of dark wolf ears and tail similar to Kael’s, which had developed when she was three.
However, she still couldn’t shift into a beast form like her father and big brother—at least not yet.
Kael was unable to hear his wife and was separated by the invisible wall between them, but he would always stand next to the barrier and talk about many things, knowing that his wife was listening anyway.
"Vivi has been very naughty these days. But I think this is more because her big brother is very busy and can’t play with her anytime like before," Kael said.
’That’s true. But it can’t be helped. Jojo has passed his teenage years and is about to become a young adult. He needs to learn how to govern since it is his duty to become the next Beast King,’ Sisi replied, despite knowing that her husband couldn’t hear her. ’Husband, you also need to discipline Vivi. She needs to understand that everyone has to fulfill their duties in the end.’
"Mm, I think I’ll have to talk with Vivi about this."
Kael finally walked closer to his daughter and said in a firm voice, "Violeta Silk, come down now!"
Vivi’s body froze instantly. She looked down and saw her father standing tall with his arms crossed over his chest.
She gulped and flew down immediately.
She knew that her father wouldn’t hurt her, but she was still scared because he wasn’t as indulgent as her big brother Jojo.
She quickly landed on her father’s back and hugged him from behind. "Daddy, don’t be angry with me. I was just playing with Big Brother!"
"Didn’t he play with you after court ends every day? He still eats dinner with you without fail, right?" Kael asked.
"Mm..."
"Then you should understand that your big brother will be crowned king by tomorrow morning. As a good little sister, you need to make his job easier," Kael began lecturing his daughter. "Besides, you are the Faerie Princess of both the Beast Kingdom and the faerie land. You need to set a good example, since every girl in this kingdom looks up to you."
Vivi pouted.
Of course, she knew about her duty—she just wanted to spend more time with her big brother, because she had been lonely these days since he became busy with court matters.
"Vivi... you need to be more patient with your big brother’s busy schedule, alright? After all, you two will only have each other once I’m gone," Kael said.
"Mm," Jojo nodded firmly, while Vivi sulked even more, but still nodded in the end.
Kael and Sisi had long drilled this into their minds, since Kael had grown extremely exhausted without his beloved by his side.
He still fulfilled his duty as king, and his body could not physically grow tired.
But the dark circles under his eyes had grown heavier as he cried almost every night, to the point that Vivi and Jojo knew their father could barely hold on any longer living like this.
Sisi watched the scene and could only sigh. Crush Tutu sat on her shoulder and asked, "Darling, will our young darling mature early like you in the end?"
"... I don’t know. I matured early because of my situation, but Vivi doesn’t have to survive harshly like I did back then. I just hope that she will understand the situation and help her big brother once Kael is gone," Sisi said as she looked up at the cherry blossom petals and one of them had turned from pink to white. "We can finally reunite after being separated for so long..."
