Chapter 2894: 2894. A Larger Rivalry

Walker didn’t hesitate to show a little power. With his first step, he manipulated the space mana and moved himself and the larger whale like figure through the bridge faster. It was like a blink of an eye to the whale but for Walker, he could feel every shift in mana.

He also sensed a closeness to the bridges to the elemental planes. How they were stable more so than before. How they adjusted for his presence over the whales. It was welcoming enough that he could grasp the innate connection to the world and the elemental planes.

While the will of the world and existence acknowledged him in a way, he felt that the bridges to the elemental planes had their own ways now. That they were clear and close because they were properly as they should be.

Maybe there was a form of elemental spirit that would form from them or for them, maybe each bridge would have one. That would not be outside the realm of possibility, especially since there were so many people relying on these bridges. So much mana flowing through them.

’Continent whale race

This species of intelligent being is considered one that should not be battled due to the ways in which they live their lives and not necessarily the power that they wield.

They innately have high mana control for water mana because they need it to survive. They move the water mana within their body from the day they are born to maintain their larger form. This is why they cannot venture into the world safely because their form will be held causing pressure all around them.

Within the water elemental planes, they are known for swimming through the vast expanses of water without any places in between that could be called villages, cities, or monster territories. This is because they themselves are their own territory.

The term continent whale is due to their size as a fully grown elder. They can literally become a vessel that allows multiple races to live on them while they travel. Due to this, they are often known as the counselors of various water elemental affinity races. They also stand as representatives for those races when it comes to embassy related diplomatic events.

Some of the continent whale race members won’t encounter another of their race for hundreds of years while others will closely work together with them to assist the races that call their backs homes.

They are very close to the mountain range tourist race when the earth and water elemental planes come into contact. This is due to both carrying the will of various races on their shoulders...’

Walker was impressed by this since he knew very well that these whales were larger because of their natural aspects. But they also took the time to care for those smaller than themselves and help them remain protected. Whether that was because they had naturally done so or were guided this way by stronger powers did not matter. They had relationships with other beings that did the very same thing in their own ways.

That proved it was deeper than just their natural inclination. It was a choice to keep protecting races by literally becoming their homes.

"It is much easier to speak here with you where I can see you and your people as a whole. The continental whale race is very interesting. You have seven different intelligent races living on your back, and you might have either if I am sensing what you are protecting under your right fin."

Hiding his intuition and what he could sense was far outside of what Walker planned to do now that he had made it back to the water elemental plane. The continent whale was clearly taken aback, too since it did not seem to grasp the extent of Walker’s strength. Yet, his arrogant attitude before had entirely been snuffed out with how he felt that Walker could easily defeat him and take control of every race on his back.

"We would gladly enter trade with your council as we did with some of the earthen races in a council. They have already begun to visit Genesis and they are beginning to act a little better toward one another since those races were in a delicate balance to keep from wars occurring regularly. I hope you are not worried over similar issues?"

This was not just a comment, but a question to understand the other races that were being spoken for by this continent whale. Walker could tell it might only be several hundred years old because he could not equal it to the size of a continent. More like the size of six kingdoms put together.

"They do not fight, they wish to grow as much as they can so that they will not suffer predators again." The continent whale spoke after some time of silence. It appeared it was going to take this more seriously and add more care to their words.

"I collected them in isolated waters. Only monsters lived and the sage did not travel alone. That is my duty. And what I carry is their hope. I insist that we are able to travel to your world as we wish. Others of different races already have that right!"

Right to business. Clear and strong, Walker couldn’t say he disliked that. But he also felt that the continent whale was not giving him a choice because there was more to it.

"And what if I do not allow this? You already felt the space mana I used. You know I could just return you and your people here. They are part of you when they are on your back, they would be brought back here too, every single time. I didn’t even need to focus to teleport us, because even the bridge to the elemental planes adjusted for me."

He didn’t hide a thing. He wanted honesty and by showing his own brutal honesty he knew he would get better answers. From there he could back them up or push them away.

Not that he truly would push them away. He actually felt that he would be more than willing to help them. There were problems within the elemental planes, so he could lend a hand while also growing into the hero that everyone needed, not the hero that was standing all too still right now.

The water shifted, it was hesitant and the sound of cheers and shouting unified came from the back of the continent whale. Whether it was because the whale had made contact or whether it was because they wished to convey their feelings didn’t seem to matter. The continent whale was already acting with them so it would unify their desires here and now.

"Gargatua squids are migrating. They will consume my people. They will take away what I protect. They are my equal villains. My predator and prey. My natural enemy. They are a race that grew to match my species and fight against us in every way. My kind developed internal mana abilities, they learned to disrupt that. We then learned to strengthen our bodies to resist them, they learned to attach to use and cut through that defense. We are a pair that destroys one another."

It was an interesting aspect of nature, especially within the elemental planes.

The two had most likely been monsters in the distant past. Both fighting one another for territory. But as they grew and fought, they pushed one another to go further and further. They made one another evolve to become more.

Once that happened, intelligence grew. They became races. But their innate instincts told them to fight. They had relied on that for their growth and it was never going to leave them. It was part of who and what they were as an intelligent race.

"You believe that they will hunt you and fight you. That is something I believe other races also have faced. Natural predators, wars, and environmental changes. But you came here looking for a way out so you have it. But we will expect equality. All races here within Genesis are equal. Whether or not you or your people will like that is up to you. We will offer the same to the gargantua squids if they appear, but we will also come down hard with penalties if laws are broken."

With firmness, Walker stepped ahead and moved right in front of the massive eye of the continental whale. He looked at it with strength before speaking out again. "I will start to meet the people you protect. Having so many new races at once will be a big event and they have to understand the dangers of mixed manas within the world. Not everyone can just walk in to the world safely, but I will be clear, if you and your council join Genesis, you will have the same protection as everyone else. Peace is the way."
