Chapter 1051

Grey didn’t even have to turn around.

All he did to escape the longsword was to blink through space with the use of his spatial affinity.

Just in time as the longsword crashed into the ground, eviscerating any pieces of rock in the vicinity.

Grey appeared a few steps away with a crackling sphere of lightning in his hand, which he hauled forward with all his might.

Gustav moved the metal from the earth and wrapped it around his hands before bashing it upward, sending the crackling sphere shooting into the air like a cloud.

It detonated in the skies in a rain of electrifying sparks.

Holding out his hands, Gustav manipulated the sparks and instantly turned them into lightning strikes that rained down continuously onto the warrior-mage’s position. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Clenching his jaws, the mage swirled Ki around his feet and began dashing around.

He weaved in between the strikes in a blur of speed, allowing them to crash into the earth repeatedly.

The strikes kept coming, with Grey dodging everything by a wide margin.

Vaulting forward, the warrior-mage darted like an arrow, getting past the strikes with fluid speed.

Within a jiffy, he appeared before the man with a wind sword shooting toward him.

CLANG!

A metal dome appeared in front of the strike, absorbing the impact from the wind sword with a deafening clang.

Vanishing from his spot, the man reappeared behind Grey with the thrust of a metal spear that gleamed dangerously.

The spear struck but was unable to pierce through due to the force of a concentrated amount of ki being directed into that exact same spot.

Twirling around, Grey lashed out with a massive ki hammer that hurtled toward the man with breakneck speed.

Gustav quickly vanished from sight, allowing the hammer to burrow into the earth, instantly splitting a nine-meter-wide crater into existence.

A metallic drill spun with intensity directly above Grey.

Snapping his head upward, he caught sight of this.

But being amplified with the lightning affinity, the drill shot down at him faster than he could dodge.

His quick instincts saved him as he manifested a similar-sized drill made entirely of Ki and wreathed in lightning.

For the first time, he was fusing his ki and his magical affinity together.

This caused a resounding bang to echo across the whole planet as the drill shot forward with blistering speed, colliding with the metal drill mid-air.

The world froze for a moment as sparks of electricity crackled out, striking the earth and uprooting chunks of soil making it seem like a lightning storm was brewing.

The two drills froze in the same spot as they twisted and turned, trying to pierce one another but to no avail.

They were both stuck—equal strength, none overpowering the other.

Grey’s ears perked up as he blinked out of sight just in time as a metal mace crashed into the space he had just occupied, instantly obliterating that exact spot like it was just made of wood.

The drills vanished after being unable to overpower each other.

Instead, a lightning pillar screamed from the sky, hurtling toward Gustav with blinding speed.

With just a wave of his hand, the pillar veered off course and crashed into the earth a meter away from him.

A gust of wind blew upward immediately, shuffling his robes as he looked ahead to see Grey making a reappearance.

"Have you forgotten, dumbass? The lightning magic was originally mine, hence I can control it no matter what. I have long surpassed the whims and rankings of this world. I can control and manipulate whatever lightning I want."

"...."

"Well, I don’t care."

Grey flash-stepped and materialized before the man in record time as his hand lashed out, a ki sword stabbing toward the man’s abdomen.

Gustav was about to vanish but was unable to do it in time as lightning arced around the warrior-mage’s hand, boosting his speed to unimaginable heights.

The sword struck the man’s robes and, with a slash to the side, it tore through the fabric and struck skin, drawing crimson droplets before the leader vanished from view.

Spinning around simultaneously, wind howled around the ki sword which Grey hurled forward with all his might, sending a thunderous bang crashing into the air.

Gustav appeared and was instantly met with a ki sword speeding his way.

’Impossible. There’s no way he could have guessed where I would appear...’

His own fast reflexes were top-notch as a metal wall shifted into place, absorbing the impact of the ki sword that struck the structure, making a sound akin to when an empty drum was struck hard.

Gustav vanished and reappeared directly before Grey with metal surrounding his whole arm, which he punched upward, smashing it into the mage’s jaw with the force of a freight train.

The Supreme Magus was instantly lifted off his feet and sent hurling into the skies like a spear.

Gustav crouched down and exploded upward, giving chase after the Supreme Magus, who had blood trickling down his chin as he desperately tried to halt his flight.

He could see Gustav rapidly approaching, and it was just a matter of moments before he would reach him.

Yanking his hand backward, a gleaming metal spear appeared in the man’s hand, which he proceeded to hurl forward with all his might.

A deafening bang cracked into existence as the projectile whooshed forward with deadly speed.

Wind hummed loudly around the Supreme Magus, allowing him to regain control as he smashed his feet into the air, then proceeded to soar upward for a moment before spinning back around.

With lightning arcing around his body, he shot downward like an arrow.

Tilting his body to the side, the metal spear rushed past him while he swiftly approached Gustav with blazing speed.

The man was about to vanish from sight, but before he had the chance to, a ki platform appeared behind Grey’s feet, which he smashed into, further increasing his momentum.

Within a fraction of a second, his hands reached out, grabbing the man by the collar.

Earth rapidly formed around his hand, which he hurled forward, bashing it into his father’s face with all his might.

A reverberating crash was heard in the air as Grey let go of the man’s collar, allowing his body to shoot downward like a rocket that had lost fuel.

With a roaring bang, the man plowed into the earth, kicking up a mountain of dust into the atmosphere.
