Chapter 1049: Pay?
Chapter 1049
The dust could be seen settling down after Charlotte’s dragon lifted Z7 and slammed him into the ground making sure to burrow him into the earth.
The whole terrain had trembled from the force of the slam as they all anxiously looked into the settling dust waiting for the Zodiac to jump back out unhurt.
"There’s no way he survived that hit, right?" Sol questioned as she peered into the dust, waiting, baiting her time for it to settle so the result of their strike could be revealed.
"Something tells me that he won’t be easily taken out. After all, they are Zodiacs for a reason. They didn’t rise to that position with just a flick of their wrists." Viktor replied from where he stood as his eyes tracked the battlefield for a second.
Wanting to see how the others were handling their fights. Although they hadn’t taken down their Zodiacs yet, they were still going hard and refusing to back down no matter what despite the numerous injuries they were being dealt.
He caught sight of Kael darting around the place with lightning speed while sending out bolts of lightning towards Lucien.
Widening the scope, he caught sight of Amir still dealing devastating attacks to the minions and the beasts the Otherworlders brought with them.
Although, the Captain looked to be losing steam as small scratches here and there were beginning to pile up.
And with the fierce use of his magic from the get go, it was beginning to show in his movements as he was getting tired yet, he didn’t stop.
That was when, the dust finally settled and they could see a figure rising from the heart of the dust.
"You are damn right. Something like that can’t take me out." Z7 uttered coldly from where he stood as he reached out, wiping the stain of blood from his lips.
He tried taking a step but then staggered afterwards as a mouthful of blood burst out of his throat stunning him for a moment.
Looking down at his hands, his gaze widened as he stared at the blood.
’Bu...But I had surrounded myself with bones. I had done that so how? How am I this injured?’
’Hang on....’
His gaze sharpened as he immediately lifted his head and quickly spun around to see a faint spark dissipating.
’Runes...’
Looking down, he could see a wind blade sticking out of his back.
Sol grinned with her teeth on full display.
Twisting the swords she had gotten from the larger battlefield in her grip, she glanced at Gunther and unhesitatingly, the two darted forward.
Though due to his Ki augmentation, Gunther was much faster as he blurred forward and within seconds, he was before the Zodiac. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Without delay, his curved swords sliced through the air towards the zodiac with full speed.
However, with a slight backward, even though he was injured; Z7 lifted his hand and bone swallowed his whole arm.
CLANG!
Sparks flew as Gunther found it hard to cut through the bone surrounding the Zodiac’s hand. Dragging his sword over the hand, he was unable to cut through the defence.
Before he could try something else, a bone spear darted towards his abdomen from the Zodiac’s second hand.
Yanking one of his swords back, he defiected the blow.
Z7’s foot shot forward as bone spikes jutted out of his leg.
Sol rushed forward and runes appeared directly in the path of the foot and from it, a small shield of earth burst out absorbing the impact from the kick.
Her own swords lashed forward, but they were blocked by Z7’s sword.
"You will pay for that..."
Sol grinned.
"Unfortunately, I’m broke at the moment to afford anything."
From there on, it was a blur of movement between these three as Gunther and Sol, two completely different people who hadn’t worked together before were seamlessly coordinating their strikes so perfectly that they were beginning to pressurise the Zodiac before them.
Bone tentacles burst forth with rapid velocity.
Sol leaned her head aside letting the spiked tentacle graze her face, drawing blood.
She was about to bolt forward when another spike shot for her abdomen.
She deflected with the sword in her hand.
Gunther was clashing repeatedly with the bone tentacles.
His hands blurring forward as he repeatedly blocked and parried but the tentacles kept coming like an annoying fly forcing him on the defensive for a moment.
" Graviole."
The ground crumbled under Viktor’s gravity magic and soon, levitated before flying towards the Zodiac with break neck speed.
A slab of earth hurtled forward with incredolous speed.
Seeing this, bone materialized before the Zodiac forming a solid wall.
BAM!
The slab crashed into the bone wall with rattling force but it held and instead, the earth slab crumbled before the power of the bone wall.
Sol and Gunther immediately flanked the zodiac as pressure from the tentacles eased on them.
"Sea Dragon Roar!"
Another giant dragon made entirely of water roared outward from Charlotte and burst forward with blazing speed while blood dribbled down the girl’s nose and mouth.
Her mana was beginning to dwindle from the two consecutive powerful creation magic.
With Sol and Gunther now closed in from the sides, the dragon was almost upon the zodiac from front.
"Gravity magic: GRAVIOLE!"
Viktor’s eyes glowed with intensity as the pressure upon the zodiac increased exponentially that cracks appeared on the bone wall and it instantly crumbled while the Zodiac was forced on his knees after resisting the gravity for so long.
Visual ki in the forms of water blazed all around Gunther with intensity.
"Water wheel!" He shouted as she spun around while unleashing the force from his swords sending a huge wheel of water hurtling towards the Zodiac.
Sol on feeling the pressure in the area, quickly leaped away as the bone tentacles shot towards her like a viper.
Deflecting one of it, a second slammed into her side, piercing through while flinging her away.
Simultaneously, the wheel crashed into the Zodiac’s side crumbling any bone coating it had one and ripping through his side.
The dragon smashed into it from the front with bone rattling force that caused crimson droplets to burst out of his mouth.
His eyes widening in immense pain while his body was lifted by the dragon that soared into the air before curling back down and crashing into the earth with the Zodiac’s body.
The horns on the water dragon pierced deep into the man’s chest, ripping through as red mist sprayed for a moment while his body connected with the earth in a loud boom.
