Chapter 1038

Thalos, Fenrir, and Noir immediately regrouped together while Kira hovered above them, orbiting the sky as her eyes were fixed on Orion two meters away from them.

"Ah... it will be fun dismantling you all again."

The sound of battle raged on in their ears, yet nobody could look around to see who was winning or even losing.

Everybody was fixed on whatever threat was in front of them, including these four.

"Let’s do this." Orion smiled, then clicked his fingers, and almost instantly, five hundred obsidian ki swords surged forward with gleaming intensity, their tips pointed at the four.

With another smile, the swords were instantly fired out with full force, smashing through the air as they rushed at the team with rapid velocity.

Thalos stared at these swords with slanted eyes as his blade became much longer, elongating beyond humanly possible.

Then, with a massive swing of the weapon, it hauled forward with rapid velocity and crashed into the incoming projectles, immediately shattering them as if they were just brittle glass.

The moment the swords shattered, Fenrir and Noir zipped forward with lightning speed while Orion stared unfazed.

Within a blink, Noir leaped up with his mouth widening, and almost instantly, a gigantic fireball burst out with full force.

The beast warrior looked at the fireball approaching him with a calm gaze and then casually swung his pincer toward the attack, ready to cleave into it when he suddenly paused.

With uncanny agility, the man vaulted backward as the fireball smashed into where he stood, immediately turning the earth into a hollow.

Spinning around like a broken arrow, he swung his pincer from above, sending it descending like a powerful hammer.

Fenrir quickly leaped to the side in time as the pincer missed him by a few inches and then clobbered into the earth.

A giant crater yawned open instantly with a blanket of dust billowing into the air.

Thalos burst into the heart of the dust like a sniper’s bullet—silent, deadly, unstoppable.

His form was like a flash of darkness hurtling forward with a singular purpose.

There was only one target: Orion.

Greatsword poised in a fluid slash toward the man, he found his movement frozen in place as the blade connected with Orion’s already raised pincer arm.

Booom—!

A violent blast of wind roared out, clearing the mound of dust away in an instant to reveal Thalos struggling to pierce through the raised claw.

Orion looked at him with disdain and then swung his leg forward with speeding force.

Thalos immediately let go of his sword and swung his hand downward, meeting the leg with a destructive punch of his own.

BAM!

The soil beneath their feet groaned in immense pain as it splintered open, while Orion’s leg was flung away from the force of the punch.

Without delay, Thalos launched forward, ready to deliver the same mountain-shaking punch toward the beast warrior’s face.

But before he had the chance to get that close, five hundred ki swords flashed into existence around Orion’s side, ready to fire toward him.

Before they could strike the gargoyle, Kira blinked into view, grabbed the gargoyle with her talons, and then flashed away in a storm of lightning.

Booom—! Booom—! Booom—!

The ki swords crashed into the earth, destroying it further while sending chunks of rocks into the ground with force.

Fenrir clapped his hands loudly, and a jagged bolt of lightning burst forth with a loud roar.

Orion stared at the approaching bolt, then darted to the side when a laser beam from Noir was fired out his way.

It was shockingly fast, but the beast warrior was still able to leap away as the beam scraped his scales, cracking a tiny piece off.

The air was suddenly crackling behind Orion, causing him to whirl around only to see Kira already in front of him, her beak crackling with lethal intensity.

Bang—!

A massive beam of lightning tore forward with breakneck speed.

It was simply too fast for the beast warrior to dodge.

All he could do was swirl ki all around his hands and cross them in front of him just in time.

WAM—! BOOOOM—!

The beam smashed into the warrior’s forearms with scorching force, shattering the earth beneath his feet while sending the warrior sliding backward in crackling pain.

The bright cadence from the beam illuminated his face with intensity as he was being pushed back.

Grinding his teeth, visual ki erupted around his shoulders in the form of a black wave of water, rushing downward to meet the beam and dispel it—only for a deadly rush of air to be felt from his side.

Snapping his head in that direction, he saw Thalos’ greatsword in hand, lashing toward him with breakneck speed.

.....

"By handicapping you," Kael replied with a wide grin as the world suddenly went dark instantly.

A huge shadow wing appeared out of nowhere and landed on the ground beneath Kael’s feet, and soon enough, it spread outward with rapid velocity.

Lucien, seeing the shadows approaching him, was forced to leap into the air in fear of what they could do.

Even though he had known the mage from when he was born, he still didn’t know everything about his skills.

He wasn’t about to risk it.

The shadow kept spreading even after Lucien leaped into the air.

They spread far and wide, covering the entire terrain for twenty meters onward before they finally stopped.

Lucien waited several seconds in patience, waiting for what the shadows were supposed to do.

But nothing came out of it.

The mage’s allies were still nowhere to be seen even after sinking into the shadow with him.

So what exactly was this for?

The next moment, Alba, Mada, and Jay could be seen rising from the spread shadows, standing directly behind Kael with steady gaits.

Without warning, Alba launched into the air like a bullet out of a gun.

Within a second, she was already before the mage with her swords slicing through the air, aiming straight for his throat.

Lucien didn’t hesitate.

He was completely ready to pull the earth and manipulate it into place to shield him from the blow.

’Huh?’

The earth wasn’t responding to his call, no matter how much he summoned it.

Looking downward, he finally realized what the shadows were used for.

They were trapping the earth and not letting it respond!
